Typical Japanese wedding and japan wedding culture. Japanese weddings consist of two parts - a ceremony where they exchange vows, and a reception followed afterwards. A typical Japanese wedding ceremony and a Japanese wedding reception can be quite different than western weddings. In Japanese wedding culture there is a dress code. Let me just say it’s typically a lot more strict in Japan as there are countless rules, especially for females. For example, women can’t show their shoulders, knees, toes, wear furs or animal prints. They must wear only nude stocking and not black ones and the list goes on. And when you attend as a family of the bride and groom, you must absolutely follow the rules so they don’t lose face. For friends though, there is some gray area. When you attend a Japanese wedding, you must absolutely bring a wedding gift, which typically, only cold hard cash, called Goshugi. No wedding registries really exist. Japanese don’t even know what that is. In addition, it’s critical to use a special envelop, specifically designed for the wedding gift where the ribbons are made to not be untied. And the amount itself is important. Friends and co-workers are expected to give at least 30,000 yen per person, about $225, while cousins and relatives gift at least 30,000 to 100,000 yen and immediate family members are expected to gift even more.

Amazing
Wolfy looked so handsome and you and your wifes hair all done up pretty =)
I don't think thr link works kababayan.
Ty for that more detailed topic about how more trendy japanese ceremonies unfurl.
It agreably shows yhe pleasant ambiance and demonstrates how usages can be
tangled,and muster in a federating standard,practicable by a great majority.However,
In cae of wedding,i'm happy to not be considered as a too much ancient friends of
your livelihood, because otherwise, in the current times,my ticket wouldv'e send right
trough of bankrupcity and by the way,i would've needed the married housing me in rescue, lol!
(😂😉).But if you're convicted to a french made wedding, normally, you should be welcome,
and normally without parking ticket, because the married are supposed to be the "Rich,Noble
and Generous Lords" hosting the ceremony.)😅😋.By this way, allow me to salute you and
whose seem like to be your close family(Wife and Son).Pleased to understand that your
spouse goes better, after her health disconvenues and now seems even more fresh,Language
talented, plus "balanced , honorable and valuable presence breathing than before.Good continuation
to you and initiatives. This time for a wedding, maybe another for a potential and beneficient future
merger.😉🙏🏾🙂.
Wolfy's hair looks amazing! 🥰
the moment when paolo realizes he is considered an immediate family member was pretty heart warming
Ikr ❤
I mean, she's his sister in law lmao. His wife is literally the sister of the bride, of course they're immediate family.
Weddings are exquisite, and the Japanese wedding ceremonies totally reach that type of standard. This is documented well. Keep up the good work.
the video was uploaded 26 minutes ago and you commented 23 minutes ago... So you how do you know it is well documented and good work ?
@@gagnarork damn it’s as if we don’t have an option to scroll through the video or give feedback without the need to finishing the whole video
@@gagnarork “well documented” doesn’t mean filming every minute of the video from beginning to end.
indian wedding better, japanese wedding looks soo corporate
@@Coachizz-rf1kw as beautiful as Japanese weddings can be, I agree that it seems very formal and corporate, there are so many rules that must be followed in japanese weddings and that can often take some of the fun out of the day, and no dancing? what? Who doesn't want to dance at a wedding? Apparently Japanese people. Also Image and reputation are so important in Japan, out of the many rules that need to be followed in a Japanese wedding I think the custom of everyone in attendance must give the bride and groom alot of money in cash is the one I'm most annoyed with. I don't think I can afford to attend a Japanese wedding if I have to give at least $225 and much more if I'm a family member? No way. I prefer weddings in other countries where there's much more freedom and the bride & groom basically can plan whatever wedding they want and do whatever they want & the guests don't have to give presents & everyone can just have a good time. Like I said Japanese weddings just seems so formal with so many strict rules.
Damn, with all these rules I guess we're lucky that the family allowed you to make this video. Appreciate it, lovely as always!
I was thinking the same thing.
right. I once attended a Japanese wedding and we couldn't even share videos and the photos in our social medias.
I’m always slightly amazed at the access they’re able to get - at weddings, theme parks, businesses, restaurants.
@@JimmyMidnite webb at 3.22 million subs, its not hard to get access to almost anything, its huge PR.. ;)
His sister in law's wedding though
Its so funny to see Wolfie looking more and more like Paolo with every video.
You 100% see who the father is in this little one :)
But why was he walking that way?
@@tessdurberville711 I think it was nervousness, after all for a child his age is a pretty big deal to be the ring bearer.
Wolfy walked down the aisle in such a serious manner. So cute. Job well done.
He's not bending his knees! Hahaha so cute!
Nahhh looked like he shat himself😂😂😂
@@ArielLaboriante HAHA yes so cute!!
Ohh, he fumbled the ball(4:36)😲
With all of their superstitions, I hope they don't consider that bad luck.
I’ve been to many weddings in the states and one time I got invited to Japan for a wedding. I was so surprised how everyone dressed very formal. I feel like in the states, not everyone wears a suit or tuxedos, but most men at the wedding wore tuxedo and some in suits. On top of that, the meal was phenomenal! It was a French course meal with the finest quality ingredients and meat from different parts of Japan. Japan just do things at a different level, I was so impressed.
Really - what American wedding doesn't require at least a suit! hmm- never heard or seen that one. don't bother coming to my wedding if you can't wrangle up a decent suit
@@InviteTheLightReadings At least in Southern California not everyone wears suits, it has a lot to do with the weather here.
@@vamosnippon Yeah in many warmer parts of America it's not uncommon for the men to not wear a full suit. Also a lot of newlyweds nowadays are going away from the traditional over the top expensive formal weeding.
I don't understand the obsession with western culture. Shouldn't the Japanese wear their own costumes than imitating the west by wearing gowns and suits?
@@ashwinmiyer6159 2 words, Meiji Restoration. Wikipedia will explain their relationship with western culture.
It’s so nice that your family was willing to share this with us! 🙏🏻 much thanks and wishes for their happiness!!
Very stylish and classy wedding. The bride looked beautiful in all her dresses. I smiled all the way through, so uplifting. Many blessings and well wishes to the bride and groom 🌺
My God! The bride is absolutely gorgeous. Her dresses are so beautiful. I can’t even imagine the hard work that went into planning this day. Wolfy’s walk down the isle is so adorable
Apparently a wedding rehearsal is not a tradition?
I loved the Japanese weddings i was fortunate enough to be invited too - I was a teacher and many of my former students were kind enough to invite me. It was always a beautiful event, especially for those who had traditional Japanese ceremonies ahead of more western ones. While the ceremony was private for family, seeing them in their kimono before they changes into a western style dress was amazing - I still have the hikidemono after nearly 30 years.
That warms my heart 🤍 what an experience to receive !
It looks lame
I love that the rules implemented are understood and respected by everyone in attendance. Also, the Families being introduced to one another before the ceremony, is such a lovely custom. What a fabulous glimpse into a Japanese Wedding.
Congratulations to Miko’s sister and her husband’s marriage union! The wedding looks elegant and sophisticated!
Maiko*
Yeah so classy 😻 I'm against weddings since they're so expensive but this one really made me wanna have it 😂
@@simonediliberto4314 Oh my god I thought her name was Michael this whole time.
That’s a amazing video Paolo! Wolfy did a great job as a ring bearer and Eri looks very beautiful as a bride. May Eri and Junya’s life be fill with happiness in years to come!
Congratulations Eri and Junya! May God bless your marriage with happiness and prosperity!
I'm Japanese and have been working in the wedding business for about 10 years, but I was surprised to see so much unique Japanese culture! It was very interesting.
May I ask how much wedding usually cost in Japan ?
Paolo: "No sunglasses" (1:37)

Very nice wedding. Poor Maiko's Dad looks like he is ready to sleep 🙂 Congrats to Eri and Junya! What a great couple!
Paolo is dressed up! Wow! I almost didn't recognize him! Ha Ha!! Great video Paolo and thank you for sharing this special event wth us!
Every day I get more and more grateful that I found this channel during pandemics. Your family is a joy and a blessing and Japan is so dear to me, hopefully someday I can finally visit there! Loved this video, Paolo, thank you and Maiko for such quality content! Best wishes
Nice video ❤❤❤
what a sweet comment
My son, a Black American married his longtime JAPANESE girlfriend years ago in a very, at the beginning traditional ceremony-at a historic registered temple in northeast Japan followed by 6 wardrobe changes by the bride, to a very modern ending reception celebration. It was quite a cultural learning experience. And, even though I do not speak Japanese I could easily figure out the activities including at the temple. Truly unforgettable wonderful experience. Oh, and yes, for couples with children, a small crib was available at the reception. And, because I jumped up and started dancing (though my son told me not to do this), everybody, especially the older guests also joined me 😂 when the music piped in began playing top tunes of the day. Thank you for this video!
god I love the "no dancing" part, should be done in every wedding!
formal muslim weddings also have no dancing. Ig it depends on the formalility and class standing of the families
In the Philippines, the wedding video is edited quickly so guests and the couple can watch it during the wedding reception. Its an extra cost but so worth it!
Well here we go again, 10 minutes staying up extra. Thanks again for the great content Paolo!
He really did a sponsored segment while attending a wedding 😂😂.
Respect my man ❤
I like that there's no dancing, I hate going to weddings where they turn the reception into a night club
Congratulations to Erichan and Junya for getting married. I wish you both a lovely married life 💕. Also, thanks for the great video Paolo, Japanese wedding traditions are different in many aspects. Especially, not being able to dance 😂.
Can I just say, Wolfy's walk down the aisle was something to behold. Absolutely precious.
Very interesting! Thank you for showing us what a modern-day Japanese wedding can look like and for sharing such a joyous occasion with us. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
💕 your fish content
Wow, guest can choose gifts and get it sent to them. Next level thank you gift
I love how Japan is so modern but still embraces ancient traditions. It is such a beautiful country, culture and people.
To me this doesn't seem like an ancient tradition at all. It looks massively influenced by western weddings. It's more of a mix between Japanese and foreign tradition, probably.
@@mateusssssss567 I am fairly certain the envelopes for money and the way the knots are tied and the kimonos of the mothers go back centuries. Perhaps a kind Japanese citizen will chime in and educate us.
@@207LW but still its way western styled then typical Japanese style weddings ...i was expecting something different
@@207LW I'm not even Japanese, but some couples do a Western style and a Japanese style wedding. But it does look like a typical Western one besides the gift money and dancing.
@@lainiwakura1776 I guess everyone missed the part where I said I love the mixing of the modern and ancient. Obviously this is a modern wedding that has a few ancient traditions woven in….that’s why I said what I said. 🤷♀️
So amazing and personal. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
This was incredible!
Really enjoyed this
This was so wholesome. Thank you for sharing your family's joyous occasion with us. Congratulations to the bride and groom!!!

Hi paolo I’ve just watched your wedding video and I have to say I was moved emotionally , I always cry at weddings but I I cried at your one because of the beauty of the way everything was organised with traditions. I wish the newlyweds a very long marriage ❤❤❤❤❤
Very spiffy, thanks for another great vid.
Thank you for sharing this to the world Paolo ❤
If I wasn't already married...I would have loved to incorporate some of these traditions. I love the letter reading. How sweet! Beautiful wedding! Congratulations!
My favourite video in the Paolo from Tokyo series. Very insightful about the Japanese society but also fun to watch and listen to.
👏🏻👏🏻Love his merge 😂😂
This is very useful video, Paolo. Thank you
I enjoyed watching this v much. Am contrasting it to a Chinese Malaysian wedding, where the parents sit in front, the guests are more and there is video of the bride and groom taken earlier in the day shown during dinner. I like the reading the letter to then parents part of this Japanese video and how everyone is dressed so well and looking incredibly smart. Thank you for sharing this video. Congratulations to the bridge and groom.
Erichan's reception dress is so beautiful ❤️. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. !

The Japanagos Channel has a traditional wedding video.
Honestly I started tearing up for Eri’s speech 😭 I could hear her emotion while she was talking. Congratulations to both!!
Fascinating! What a gorgeous wedding
Weddings are so wonderful. Please do more videos on weddings!!
Wow, Japanese Weddings are unique! Thanks for sharing this with us, Mr. De Guzman!
It would be just great one video about the traditional Japanese wedding at the temple too etc thanks for the upload !
Thanks for including us, Paolo~
Congratulations Eri!!
I'm japanese🥺
You are so cool👍️
I will always support you❤
Beautiful video! I have to admit, I felt my heart die a little bit when I heard "no dancing." I guess I would probably go out after the wedding lol
Another banger, Paolo.
Such a beautiful ceremony ❤
I attended a friend's wedding a long time ago in Nikko. It was a traditional ceremony at one of the popular temples. Probably a once in a lifetime experience for me but it was very interesting.
I don't want to be the bride, I want to be the bride's mom! My gosh, she looks STUNNING! 🤩😍
I LOVE the black kimono's the mother's wear for the wedding - they are like top notch and the ones I saw in person were embroidered at the bottom - tastefully with silver or golden trees and birds. Sooo nice.
Congratulations to the newlyweds and their parents! Thank you for this and all videos. Always a pleasure to watch!
