It probably was the best decision toriyama made in dragonball. Without this we would have no Z, nothing.
Ok, i didn't know, that the dub called him "Junior". In our german dub, he was called "Beelzebub" which is a biblical description for "Surpreme Devil" or simply "Devil".

14:18 Yeah everyone who watched Z first and then watched OG Dragonball has the same sentiment; when you watch the earthlings in Z you respect them for fighting even when outmatched (well, except for Yamcha, who eventually gave up fighting to become a baseball star) but you treat them as side-characters who can't get shit done, then when you watch OG you see how they were dedicated and caring fighters who were legitimately contenders for strongest on the planet, and then remembering how they get sidelined in Z is quite sad. They do have their moments though, I always respect Krillin for being a genuinely nice guy and always stepping up even when HORRENDOUSLY outmatched like against frieza, androids, cell, buu, etc, and Tien still has his neo tribeam/kikoho moment against Semi-perfect Cell (which is WILD when you actually consider the difference in their power levels, even though Tien did no actual damage, the fact he was able to hold S-P Cell for any amount of time is an insane feat). Super looked like it was going to give these characters another shot in the limelight with the tournament of power bringing in Roshi, krillin, and Tien, ultimately Krillin and Tien get kind of pathetic eliminations, but at least Roshi had a good showing
krillin still had more knock outs than god of destruction toppo so that's a W, i hope moro isn't the last time the rest of them do anything (since krillin helped against cell max in the manga)
