See this is the same problem I’ve been having as well…. I buy an already made "project panel" from my big box store & no matter what it gets to bowed! And even if it isn’t it will be bowed by the time it gets where it’s going (shipping, different temps/humidity etc etc). Then (especially) if you’re making a framed flag out of it you want it sitting flush to the wall (at least I do anyways) so it actually looks like it’s a framed flag & I don’t want 3/4" or 1/2" braces I had to glue/nail to the back of it just to keep the project panel from being bowed…. Which isn’t bad but it doesn’t resemble/look anything like a framed flag 🖼️🇺🇸 once it’s done! So doing your own panel glue up is the way to go!! Also on another (not so) "pro tip" if you run your V-Carve tool pass over the stars ⭐️ (just the stars ⭐️, not anything else) a second time lowering your depth about .002-.005 thousandths for the 2nd pass those starts will come out looking phenomenal🤩 with no extra sanding/brushing/scraping necessary (At least it has always works out in my cases anyways)! Anyways great video & the flag 🇺🇸 came out looking great! 👍💯🎯
Good job. I know you have seen this comment before, but , if you would use a downcut end mill. This would save you about 80 percent of the cleanup time on the stripes. Roy
Awesome inspired video, My wife and I have a dear Marine friend who does so much for us, we would like to make similar for him to show our appreciation. I looked for the link to the file to make this, we have a 1F as well, we would be happy to purchase the file if we could find it, we could not find the link above, if you would not mind we would like to make this flag for our friend it would be a perfect gift we have in mind. Thank You for the video ; ) Team Onefinity ; )
Thank you, I really appreciate it! And thanks for noticing that I didn't have the link in the description 🤦🏼♂️ - I've added it now. The only thing I added to this SVG file was the lettering. Good luck with the carve - I'm sure your Marine friend will absolutely love it! 🇺🇸
I use Sketchup to design and Easel to layout the cut paths. So Sketchup is the CAD software and Easel is the CAM software. I’m learning Fusion 360 currently which does both
pro-tip apply the polycrylic with a gravity feed cup gun and compressor outside if possible in the sun dries fast and since its water based cleanup is fast and free
