Another video on the greatest boxer of them all. Sugar Ray Robinson and how he would come inside the hook(sometimes with a step) and smother both the hook and any potential right hand.
Robinson would also always counter to the body with his own lead hand from coming inside the hook, another nifty trick of Boxings no.1 fighter.

Probably one of the most important videos anyone's ever made about countering the left hook.
From the footage I have seen Bob Fitzsimmons was incredibly skilled at this as well.
It's funny how Rocky Marciano & George Foreman are both known as crude sluggers, yet both possess so much knowledge about the Sport lol
I love their fight commentary, I always learn so much.
Mike Tyson also comes to mind, without the crude label.

I'm glad someone else said this because this was one of those videos I made that when I was putting the clips together I knew I had hit gold. Also I'd add Andre Ward, Paul Malinaggi and Roy Jones Jr to the names you listed as former fighters whose commentary is very insightful 🥊

I never heard anyone saying Tyson was a crude slugger I always heard the complete opposite from people. They actually overhyped Tyson saying he's like the evolved Frazier bigger, stronger, faster etc etc. Even though Tyson bulked up while Frazier slimmed down and both had different styles and gameplans. For Foreman and Marciano I seen them get over criticize due to maybe 2 fight had when they struggled against great fighters.

@@antoniomosley9410 I was clarifying that Mike Tyson doesn't usually get labeled by the average person as crude, even though I personally feel that he isn't nearly as adaptable or multidimensional a fighter as Frazier or Marciano. Tyson certainly has his spectacular moments, but I personally feel his new age "for the time" robotic training style kept his ring mind in an inflexible box.
He actually looked a lot more relaxed and open minded as fighter to me in his recent exhibition with Roy Jones. Maybe it's his new outlook on life, or his new trainers idk.

@@antoniomosley9410 As a Heavyweight or p4p? I don't feel like it's fair to make those kinds of comparison's between fighters once they attain a certain level.
I think there are too many variables, and I haven't achieved anything in the Sport to rank anyone's worth over another on a list.
I can be impartial and reason for example that any version of Mike Tyson would lose to any version of George Foreman for very specific physical and mental differences, and stylistic clashes, but that's about as far as I can go.
Does losing to George Foreman mean Joe Frazier isn't one of the greatest Heavyweights ever? No, and who gets up 6 times against George Foreman and comes back for more? Fights him twice! Only one other person was brave enough to do that, it's crazy lol
Mike Tyson could have taken the fight and allegedly refused according to multiple witness accounts, and that's along with a self admitted lack of genuine love and passion for sport that I think was visible in his fights, keeps him apart from the Heavies I would have to have higher.

I have a question, how do you avoid bumping heads while you come inside the hook?
