Will definitely be making this. I’m so glad I found your channel last week. I love all your jumpers and cardigans and will be definitely making some when I’m finished on my current project. They’re actually my favourite garments to crochet. So many people on YT do shawls, hats, scarfs and ponchos tutorials, which is good for some people but repetitive for me. So I get excited to find channels that crochet trendy looking jumpers, tops, cardigans etc. Keep up the good work x
Thank you Donna! Sweaters and cardigans are my favourite things to crochet too :) I felt like there weren't many modern crochet patterns so that's why I started designing!
@@forthefrills your work is awesome ♥️. Kind of you to share the videos of the sweaters 🙏 Requesting you to kindly let me know the break-up for M ( medium) Size fir this pattern. ie.. if I want to make M size starting chains are 132, kindly let me know the next breakup to enter the sleeves. Thanks a ton.
I just came across your channel ! I Love everything you have created! I started out crochet then moved on to knitting and have not been able to find any pattern in crochet that I like enough to get back into. But I don't know where to start with all your patterns! You having amazing talent! Keep it up :) much love from Florida
Thank you! Your comment made my day :) That's exactly how I felt and why I started this channel. There are so many gorgeous, modern knitting patterns but not many crochet ones!
Im currently working on this I love it, I'm curious though why do you turn after the rose when it's joined in the round? If I just work around, will that affect it?
Thanks for sharing...when starting the sleeves you said that the back of the sweater should facing you ...the back of sweater is it when we join in body rounds or the opposite side ...pls tell me
I made something wrong. I think one additional chain at the beggining of every 4-11 round :( Do I need to undo all of it or can I just decrese in lets say 11 round (descreas 1 or 2 times) and then in the following rounds do a few more decreses?
hiii if you happen to see this comment i would really appreciate a reply. I'm on row 5 at the beginning and so far the hole that i have going for the neck hole is not big enough to fit my head through. I saw on your blog that all sizes are with a start of chain 48 but what should i do if it's not big enough? Maybe it's because my yarn is less chunky (weight 5)? Thanks.
@@SanaAlam0001 The written pattern, which is linked in the description, has this info. 5 skeins of Lion Brand Heartland Thick & Quick - 14ply/Super Chunky/Super Bulky(6), 114m/142g for size XS.
Hi. Thank you for such a beautiful sweater and concise video. One question. I have been forgetting to turn after each round. I'm on round 6. Will this make a difference on the final outcome of the sweater?
@@forthefrills Thank you so much for your response. I have finished the sweater and it turned out great. I have been crocheting for some time now and will say that you are one of the best teachers (from beginning to end) on UA-cam. Thanks again. Look forward to more of your designs.
Thanks for this tutorial, Grace! I have a question. I’ve just realized that i should not have been slip stitching into the turning chain (at least i dont think). I’m about halfway through the pattern. Do you think i should start over? I can’t tell how it will effect the project. Thanks so much!
Hi, If you're using a thinner yarn the sweater will be a lot smaller and since this is a top down sweater even if you increase the foundation chain the ratio of the increases will be off, so I can't guarantee that your sweater will look like the sample, sorry! Some patterns are easy to alter but for this pattern I'd really recommend using a super chunky yarn. Grace :)
Hi how are you? I have a question. In this video you began with 48 chain for small size but in the blog said that I need to do 116 chains for small. Can you explain me pliss?
Hi, thanks a lot for this amazing pattern, i am working on it these days, my question is, the DC2tog that are in round 2 in BODY section, are we going to count 15, 35 DC in all sizes or it differs?
Hi Tepe, thanks for watching! I always recommend reading the written pattern if you're crocheting a different size. It's available for free on my blog :) - forthefrills.com/crochet-brooklyn-chunky-cropped-sweater-free-pattern
Hi! If I wanted to use a weight 5 yarn, how would you suggest changing the pattern? should I go up a size, or should I try to achieve the same gauge with a different hook size? Thanks!
@@sherit8594 I cant get the gauge...she does 7.5 st for 4" with size 9mm crochet. I dont even come close. I get 10 st in 4"..I am worried that my top will look holey if I increase the size of the crochet too much.
with the front post and back post double crochet stitch it gives it a stretch anyways along with the weight of the sweater so it should fit over your head once its complete

Quick question, the written pattern says to repeat rows 6-11 whereas you just said repeat rows 4-11.. which should I follow?

Hi June, this won't change your sweater much but the seam will curve down your back instead of being in a straight line. I hope this helps! Grace :)

Hi can you tell me how many chains should i do for size 3xl / 2xl at the first round
Hi, I only have chunky wool and a size 6 hook. Can I still make it using the same number of stitches for a small?
Marina, you can always try to make a Guage swatch. But usually using a smaller hook or yarn will result in a smaller project.
Hello!! I want to make it but I have a size 10mm needle, would that be okay? Or do I need to buy a different yarn?
How many skeins does it take?

I think you might be looking at the wrong pattern because the blog instructions state to ch 48 :) Grace
