While it's true that there are people who genuinely cannot afford it because they can't even meet their daily needs, most people in the developed world are well in a position to change careers. Is it easy? No. Does it requires sacrifice? Yes. Here's how to do it - start by changing your mindset.

I think financial instability is the main reason that changing careers is a luxury. Many people, perhaps most people, do not make enough money to quit their jobs and transition into another one, let alone a separate career.
I agree that many people think changing careers is a luxury. While some people actually have a hard time meeting their most basic needs (in this case career change is a real luxury), many others don't realize that their lifestyle is the actual luxury that eats away at their chance to have a more fulfilling career and life. It takes wisdom to know which category one falls into. Once someone gets their finances under control (it doesn't mean they need to become extremely rich, but balance their budget with their income and start saving up a small emergency fund) they can change careers.
@@multiplecareerspodcast2556 You are right. Many people trap themselves with their lifestyle choices. Not to say they made bad lifestyle choices, but when circumstances change, like wanting to change careers, they can find themselves stuck. However, regarding the mindset side of it, it does take a lot of undoing things in order to move on. I commend anyone who is able to overcome their limiting beliefs and eventually prevail. I am rooting for them. Thanks for your thoughtful video.
