One of my favorite moments purely because of the concept of the mind ray. The cartography guy has a mind gun in his ship, and his notes imply that he regularly uses it to keep his subordinates in check. The one used on the pupil in the Tower proceeds to commit suicide during the show since the gun broke his mind. The Father most likely met the Starworm and was shot with it, resulting in him having a grand revelation and starting the Tri religion. Royal was hit with it and forced him to conflict with his own dark thoughts of "Why am I even alive?" Robin attempted to punch God and was then forced to face her own anxiety in physical form. The power one can have by manipulating the mind is both horrific and fascinating.
"The Father most likely met the Starworm and was shot with it, resulting in him having a grand revelation and starting the Tri religion." Was this actually implied in the game?
In an interview, Konjak confirmed that the shadows are Robin's portrayal of her anxiety, the things she regrets the most with the main cast: Elro, Mina, Royal, and Agent Black. We can see which is which with characteristics on the shadows themselves, the background, and their corresponding puzzles. And depending on what dialogue choices you've made, they may be more or less aggressive, with sunflowers around them signaling that they're "100%" pacified and won't seek to kill you. *First Shadow (Elro):* It wields a broken sword, similar to that of Elro's, and is missing an arm. The Background shows a ruins of the house Elro and his family owned, surrounded by sunflower fields, Robin used to be nicknamed "Sunflower", furthermore, we see "melting" silhouettes of Elro's wife and daughter to the right, and a Triangular structure with a heart in it, representing the Bastion and City One. The Puzzle involves catching a and twisting the Screw, representing the event when she, Elro, and his family were caught Red-Handed by Black. The reason why this shadow still attacks you when its pacified is most likely related to how you left Elro in the House when he told you to stay one last time, the Shadow is just aimlessly walking, with no intention to seek you out, like how Elro can't do anything else to stop you. *Second Shadow (Mina):* Shooting projectiles at the Robin, associated with Mina since she is the main "Hard-Hitting Gunner", but the shape of the shadow relates to the Isi deity statue we see in the the town. The Background shows a seemingly endless tower, representing the events that transpired in The Tower, feeling like a long and endless trek to save Samba, the sides being surrounded by skulls represent how the Isi value Family, Procreation, and a "Life after Death" with their ancestry, thus why there are so many skulls. The Puzzle involves using your Charged Wrench to charge up the sunflowers, representing how the Isi used different methods to get Ivory and the amount of electricity based hazards and puzzles in the Depths, and you get the Charged Wrench there. *Third Shadow (Royal):* Its attacks are basically that of Royal's, and its seen as skinny, ribcage exposed, and a Triangle Shape for its head, Royal being 2 of 3 of those with the triangle relating to the One Concern. The Background is that of a slightly broken moon, uncontrollably spinning in Space, basically the smaller moon where you and Royal went together to speak to Him, and failing to not only stop Him from ending the World, but failing to save Royal with you back to "Earth". The Puzzle involves spinning gears to beat area, gears being a prominent puzzle in most One Concern bases. *Fourth/Final Shadow (Black):* A pitiful, struggling woman, miserable, with her arms weak, crawling slowly towards you, a pitch black Background and the lack of a Sunflower Puzzle, this is Robin's deepest and heaviest burden, you had no other choice but to kill her yourself directly. Robin is a pacifist, she does not actively seek to kill her opponents, and most of what she's killed up until that point has been Soulless Machines or Meaningless Beasts, and having someone else dealing the final blow.
YOU ARE IN THE MOST TRUE THAN ANY OTHER PERSON (But you know ...?), I had already known that "meant" those shadows in the moment that was unconscious Robin, you knew that the "sonbras" represent VERY well with the mentioned characters, but, it has nothing to do with "anxiety", but rather, take it as "memories of torture" or "Llanto", that is, the shadows that fight are the memories that happened while on its way, and it is too painful to finally get angry, how to say this ... "you should not remember those moments of misery" (how do you see people who "die" when they want to forget) and more main with Elro (La death of his wife and daughter), Mina (the skulls could perhaps represent something similar to what Robin did not want to know ...), Royal (His death in the explosion of the rocket, and the pain of leaving him abandoned so that follow, that is, he "sacrificed" after the talk he discussed while he was in shock ....) and Black (Although n Believe it or not, Black suffered too much misery to come to an end, the talks I hear and in his full fight against Robin, I leave the idea that his life did not matter much mucbho we say ...) and that's how I I have understood those meanings ... But your answer is very CONCERNS :) !!! (That is, correct hehe)
It is not necessary to punch black shadow to kill her, you can just wait on the right side and she will eventually die... yeah, I dont know if that is even sadder...
@@reallyannoyingguy6625 Black is the only exception, being literally killed by Robin. Her being unable to kill you just shows how sorry Robin feels for her, despite Black being so dangerous and mentally unstable.
This track is really dark... It portrays Robin's feelings toward the main cast, and how... helpless she really is. Take Agent Black as an example. Her Shadow is just a weak shadow, slowly crawling toward Robin. The reason it's last is because it shows Robin's deepest fear- single-handedly killing another person. She, alone, killed Agent Black. Sure, she had no other choice, but that doesn't make it any better. She went against her own principles, and killed another human being. Going back to Black's shadow, it will crawl from the right to the left. It won't hurt Robin. Robin doesn't even need to harm it- it will simple die upon reaching the left side of the stage.
ProtoTag Shelo; Really ... the scene you say (De Black and his shadow) is correct and also represents the fear of "killing a person" (when Robin did not want to do it ...) but remember this; Who was the person who "forced" to kill the Black Agent? It was Royal, at the rocket scene ... do you remember it? PD: Robin would never kill a person with his own hands (not even with his weapon) is pure almost-coincidence; but, when Robin kills a real character, OBVIOUSLY he would feel of resentment and fear (of the fact that he did ... consider as a sin ...)

@Zanimations He's talking about the confuse ray and Robin's mental traumas. I haven't played the game personally so I don't know of any "space ship incident", unless you're referring to the rocket fight vs the Ivory Beast.
There should have been an option to enter Royal's mind and help him. Some folks just don't have the willpower needed to face their demons. You'd be under a time limit, sure, but if you succeed, Royal would take a stand. He'd renounce his faith and stop letting others dictate his worth. Maybe you could even talk to him to aid in the final fight, because he would realize something. He actually _damaged_ the Starworm; if it bleeds, it can die.
I am groovin' to this, it's so weird and spooky but at the same time, really funky. Also has anyone noticed that the colouring of this part of the game has the same colour scheme as the Game Over screen?
