  • After nine months and almost 10.000km I am giving you a summary of my impressions of the CCM 450 GP Adventure. UPDATE: CCM has presented a cush drive back wheel, which have now installed on the bike.

Thank you for taking the time to document your initial impression and this review. Very helpful in making a decision.

Chain adjustment every 3 days?? Wow. I really hope CCM addresses this issue, it can't be that expensive to make a cush drive standard equipment. Thanks for the review, it was very helpful! Cheers from British Columbia, Canada. :)

Thanks, super useful review ...This bike is on my list of candidates for next years adventure travelling; would be nice to learn if CCM responds to your comments on chain tension.

Nice one, thanks for the detailed appraisal. Just bought a Cafe Racer. In fact two, one is the new Husky Care Racer and the other is the CR40.,

you dont need a cush drive. you need a auto chain tensioner (maybe you can build your own with a spring loaded nylon roller). Cush drive basically protects the sprockets and the countershaft spindle coming out of the engine, and to an extent tyre wear. Love the bike. shinny side up, cheers from India

Thanks for the review, must test ride this. Bit hard in Australia as there are not many dealers.

I think I saw this motorcycle for sale on an EU moto website. Can you tell me man, I have been thinking to get a lightweight DS to put on the back of my Sprinter van to take across Asia. While the CCM looks super light, can it take a pillion? Does it have the subframe/pegs that can take the weight of a pillion? I had been looking at getting the DRZ400S before I saw the CCM GP450

The CCM450 is not really build to take a passenger. You could get passenger footpegs from CCM, but this negates the whole concept of a light offroad bike. Also with 41hp you won't have much fun with a passenger behind you. The frame extends a bit to the back, but the weak point is that the luggage rack on the back is resting on the gas tank, which is why NCCR (the Swedish dealer at those times) developed a luggage rack that reinforces the back of the bike. So I'd say: no, it's not really made for travelling with a passenger. I doubt the DRZ400 is any better in that respect.

hi let me give you one advice , I don´t like the pointy square in the upper place of your crashbars I think could be some danger for your knees in case of crash? perhaps you can rounded this part it ´d look safier?

Hi there, it looks like you've solved the 'fake exhaust' storage issue you had in your first video. Would you show us how please?
