Just watched this video and loved reading all the troll comments trashing this car, knowing that it’s currently on display at the New York Auto Show in the Javits Center where it deserves to be. Nice work, Anthony!
Man, this is so clean!!! As much as I love JDM cars, this really feels like a breath of fresh air... Obscure car, really talented owner/fabricator... What more can you ask for from an AutoFocus episode???
The classic Alfa Romeo is simply perfect - just love them. In my opinion, the car with the hard top on looks extremely good. Even though I am big fan of leaving the classic cars as original as it gets, this spider look really got. Nice job done to it.
late to the party but I absolutely adore this. Also the owner doesn't want to use antilag in the street so it doesn't upset the neighbourhood, I appreciate that!
That spider started as a Graduate model. Role up windows tells the tale. Also, it has the original "wide" seats as opposed to the narrow sport seat that were in the Veloce and Quadrifoglio models. It does have the Quad front/rear bumpers and side skirts. Head light covers are aftermarket.Factory hard top. Nice build. I like the rear lights better than the factory ones.
Nice... My dad built a sick 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint - Black and custom grilles made for the original grill spots, Ansen Slot Rims, Chevy 383, 700R4…galvanized pipe bumper painted black with chromed pipe cap ends…etc. Many other nice conversions and rods to go with it.
They were very popular in New England for some reason.always loved the instrument clusters and the door handles. This guy did alot of pioneering. Love the tail light treatment. The gated shifter he has Ferrari on his mind. Which Ferrari worked at Alfa and stole most of the creative force , to start Ferrari...so appropriate ! Great job doing things his way made a very unique Sports Car. Got to give him credit all the engine mods are one off. So a great engineering AND Design job ! BRAVO !
Does Anthony have a channel? I'm about to acquire a 1987 Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 liter and I'm very interested in two mods that Anthony incorporated into his design. 1) the Carello perspex headlight covers, did he need to make any major body modification besides the tabs? 2) does he have a pattern for the shift gate, would love that on brushed SS. Larry, thanks for sharing his one of a kind Alfa!
People tend to act like it's amazing that it actually runs. Of course many of us who have owned Alfas know they are good cars. They mainly just need good parts sources and a savvy mechanic. I love unique and offbeat uncommon cars so this is right up my alley. Next, 1970 Peugeot 504 on air bags , but only if i build it because i don't just pay lip service to oddball cars. I dream the dream and have a vision. Some ferment in my grey matter and sometimes if an example can be found a build ensues.
It’s definitely a bit over the top.. not sold on the slammed look and wheels but that might just be my Alfa purist OCD kicking in.. but honestly if this one was saved from the scrapper kuddo’s for him..
Owned a couple of Alfas in the early 2000's, a 1750 Berlina and a GTV6. Not great off the line, but just keep your foot on it and keep pulling! The GTV6 especially was nice. No power steering; parking could be a little challenging, but you could drive it over twisty mountain roads with two fingers on the wheel. You knew exactly what it was doing. Great engine noise too, especially the Busso v-6!
Definitely the first custom Spider I've ever seen and it's a good one too. The only thing that I might change if it were mine are the rear lights. Looks a bit odd to my personal taste..
Alfa Romeo turbocharged these bialbero engines in the GTV and Giulietta TurboDeltas and later the 75/Milano 1.8 Turbo. The 75 Turbo Evoluziones were tuned up to 450bhp
As an owner of a modded italian 2 seater sports car myself, I wholeheartedly approve of what this guy has done to his sweet ride. Also he seems like a really nice dude.
A woman in my neighborhood has one..It's a silver hard top car...I've seen these things here in Virginia a couple times over the past 20 years..Really Nice. Updated mods..Good Review. .🏁👍
Okay..... I stared at a set of those wheels on a wagoneer for about 15 to 20 minutes just saying WOW! So talented converting them into that sick 3 piece design.....
I think he struggled a bit to get the owner to speak, whenever he answered one of Larrys questions he just stopped talking. However he Was super nice but maybe a bit nervous behind a camera

Who knew it would hold so much boost? I love quirky Italian stuff. Larry's lack of enthusiasm is hilarious.
Honestly I think Larry was constantly trying to figure what to ask, because this is such an unusual car he knows very little about it
i almost thought larry was high or something
Blasphemy
A BUSSO is to be enjoyed raw, just like something else 😳
@@tony_5156 ...a busso engine is a V6 .. a 4 cly engine is a nord
@@Bruhyeet42069 same but im high so
Props to this guy. Interesting car and unique styling. I love it!

If this guy becomes more comfortable in front of a camera and a good sponsor the sky is the limit
this

This dude is such a skilled fabricator. What a fantastic looking Alfa!
skilled????lol
Love unique cars, and this guy killed it in my opinion.
Love how it low key looks like a Mazda cosmo. Crazy how it handles boost so well stock
I love how proud the owner is of his work! You can tell he put a lot of time building to how he likes.
This is why this show is the best car show on UA-cam

Nice job done to it.
Major cool points for being different and more cool points for Looking good while being different

Alfa romeo made one of the nicest cars ever made the 33 stradale
I came here to be mad. But I can't hate it. This car is loved and shows a lot of creativity and talent.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Nice...

So awesome to see Anthony getting some attention, been watching his builds for years and glad hes getting recognition.
Does Anthony have a channel?

What a beautiful work! Congrats for saving this Spider! 👍👍👍
Seen this car at Kit & Import Nationals this year. It also took part in our Fiat Freakout in Lancaster PA, last weekend.
Man I love this car and everything he has done to make it his own are some of my favorite parts about it! 👍
It’s definitely a bit over the top.. not sold on the slammed look and wheels but that might just be my Alfa purist OCD kicking in.. but honestly if this one was saved from the scrapper kuddo’s for him..
I'd like it without silver centres to the wheels and if it wasn't bagged, but other than that it's kinda cool to my eyes.
Sheeeeesh Akaxauto
Gotta do a video on his jeeps lmao
I was gonna comment the same thing😂
as a long island kid ya get his jeeps on here
Yes, Yes! Love how you portrayed this this dude and his fantastic car!
Can't say its my style but I love seeing some alfa's on Autofocus!
I think pininfarina would like those wheels too. Spot on.
Awesome build. This is one of those cars I'll never forget.
My father had one of these, they are also known as "duetto" in Italy. Awesome!
While the term Duetto is used pretty loosely it's specifically used for the 66-69 roundtail Spiders :) They are all cool though!
Not a duetto man.
I am over the moon with these unique builds :D
Love these in high school during the rise of JDM, and the downfall of Alfa in the US market
The rear of this car completely transforms it. Amazing work!
Coolest car on the channel so far . The look when the body is dropped 🤤
21:45 that burble is sublime
I would so copy this build and not feel bad LOL
I was thinking the same 😂
with all the mistakes he made?
Might have to
Lovely redesign of the rear. He should market the gated shifter plate and the rear panel to host the F50 lights
I've never been a big Alfa fan, but I absolutely love this car. It's so tastefully done. I hope to see this car at a NY area show soon. Beautiful.
It’s at the NY Auto Show at Jacob Javitz right now :)
What an amazing build. Thank you so much for showcasing this build. One of my favourites so far.

I love the blacked out rear panel including the license plate
Sickest Alfa Spider conversion I've ever seen.
This thing looks so good!! Who woulda knew...
It looks very cool. Very well done. The tail lights, the wheels...
What an absolute masterpiece.
Definitely the first custom Spider I've ever seen and it's a good one too.
The only thing that I might change if it were mine are the rear lights.
Looks a bit odd to my personal taste..
Absolutely love this. Ever since i watched the movie 'Fletch', i always fancied one of these.
Wheels remind me of the AMG aero wheels, looking good!
all the alfa spiders on craigslist are now all gone...lol
Congrats on the feature dude!
One of the first car I've liked on your channel, GO Alfa! I like that your on the east coast
Stunning
I give a huge thumbs up to the builder. Beautiful Alfa.
This is fucking just so cool and impressive.
Way to go totally unique! Looks fantastic man!
This is probably the coolest build I’ve seen
Great Build, great feature
Enzo would be proud, awesome car
Man that thing looks and sounds amazing second time watching the video!! BIG UP LARRY!!
Alfa Romeo turbocharged these bialbero engines in the GTV and Giulietta TurboDeltas and later the 75/Milano 1.8 Turbo. The 75 Turbo Evoluziones were tuned up to 450bhp
Anthony seems like such a cool and chill dude! Sick Alfa!
AKAxauto made it! yes! I love this guy.
21 lbs of boost on an 80's open deck block is a bold move. He lives on the edge.
Huh.
BTW, this is a phenomenal build. So unique and well executed.
He’s got four leaf clover center caps, I think he’ll be ok.
As an owner of a modded italian 2 seater sports car myself, I wholeheartedly approve of what this guy has done to his sweet ride. Also he seems like a really nice dude.
Alfisto from Germany here, never clicked a Hoonigan video faster than now!!!
edit: Just like the car, the rims are true masterpieces!
A woman in my neighborhood has one..It's a silver hard top car...I've seen these things here in Virginia a couple times over the past 20 years..Really Nice. Updated mods..Good Review.
.🏁👍
drinking game, take a drink everytime larry says huh
Or here a lisp
You'd die from alcohol poisoning.
Love an unconventional build that required so much work. The average car guy would have no idea what this took. Pure automotive passion.
Larry these Spyders share the same drivetrain as those crazy Alfaholics cars we all love.
This might be the most amazing car I have ever seen to be honest... and I've seen alot.
Okay..... I stared at a set of those wheels on a wagoneer for about 15 to 20 minutes just saying WOW! So talented converting them into that sick 3 piece design.....
That gated shifter, the louvered hood, the tail lights, the wheels, everything, it’s so cool!
do his jeep xj builds next!! one is a super built turbo jeep 4.0, and the other is a 2wd 2j swap
Obscurity! iLove it
I just bought an 86 Spider, probably in better shape than this one was when he bought this one, which gives me so much hope. This is an awesome car!
Man this car looks so nice
He knocked it out the park!
Thank you Larry. What a neat car.
Larry seemed so unenthusiastic af. It seemed like he didnt care one bit. Great & Unique ride.
Maybe it’s because he really didn’t know much about these cars. You really never see these things ever
I think he struggled a bit to get the owner to speak, whenever he answered one of Larrys questions he just stopped talking. However he Was super nice but maybe a bit nervous behind a camera
This guy is rad
This is a car that's cool to look at and probably very uncool to drive. Really unique build.
Using a raspberry pi cpu,,amazing! Why not an odroid xu4?
I absolutely love this thing. Perfection man.
such a cool and interesting build
What a beautiful ride, and I loved all the work he'd done to it🔧👌
I’ve been eyeing up a pretty mint mg wanting to do kinda the same thing I love the look of this. Has a great like restomod look
I love these weird quirky builds. MORE OF THESE PLEASEEEEEE. Did he say 21lbs of boost? LOLOLLOL AMAZING
So different and great mix of parts and styles! His passion shines through! Well done 🔥👍
long live alfas! i have an 87 spider myself
The rear end work is soooo clean. Nice job.
Super cool car. Looks so unique
the blacked out license plate is radddd
That's a totally unique car and it looks awesome and makes Italian dos noises.
WOW That old Alfa engine is tough! How has it not blown a head gasket with that boost??? Amazing
Awesome car always like to see something different and it delivers lol
This guy is so skilled
Another one 💥💥🤘🏾
Wow what a build
that was a very cool car i must say
