Heaven knows why they bothered making a N200. Its a slightly higher clocked N100 unlike the N3xx which is 8 cores. Should have made it 6 cores...a cut down N3xx.
Great review. The "bottom end of the market" has some fantastic stuff. I had a Beelink SER5 with a Ryzen 5 5500u. Fantastic for the workload shown here. But-I have use of one hand and finally found a gaming controller that works for me. I just replaced the SER5 with a Beelink SER7 7840 HS/32 GB Ram. Its the SER8 CPU without an NPU. I am into older games and most things that are not current AAA. Still-it's fascinating to see the range and capabilities of mini pcs.
It is impressive how far we've come in hardware that even a $300 computer that fits in your hand will be just fine for 90+% of people using a computer. Part of this comes down to most things being browser based now and the optimizations done there and part of it is just how good CPUs have become.
I'd be concerned with that built in power supply, if it fails. At least with the last generation, if the PSU fails, it is external and can be easy to replace.
Genuine question- For $100 less I'm seening n100 units with same memory/storage. Is the third again boost in CPU freq, compute units, and shader worth it?
Depends on the manufacturer. There are some shady mini pc makers out there. Beelink, GEEKOM, GMKtec, and Minisforum tend to have solid reputations. For the workloads I outlined in this video you won’t see much difference in performance with an N100.
Would the EQ13 connect to wifi about the same from the router as a cell phone would? As i can't run a cat5 from the basement up one floor. My phone easily connect but would the EQ13, I don't see an antenna in the case.
I have a 16 gb ddr 5 ram i5 14400F (dual fan good air cooler ) Rtx 4060 8gb vram But i dont know while using after effects the playback is not smooth it take time to load and render in 1080P But in premiure pro the smoothness is 1000% in 4K super smooth so wanted to ask why this happens Is this a windows problem ? ( bcz on even m1 base mac the utube vedio i saw everything was smooth )
If you buy one now it should come with the updated BIOS. If not the update and instructions are on the GMKtec support page. It’s pretty simple, just download the file and launch it. Just like installing any windows software.
For me, it's a downgrade from the EQ12. The difference between EQ12 and the Pro model was the port selection, and the fact that you could run EQ12 using PD power from the monitor, which this can't do. I appreciate that it only needs a power cable, not a power adapter, but I'd rather not have the extra cable at all
Love the mini pc reviews

Ryzen equivalent blows away all these Intel at same price level.
What controller did you pick?

Great review as always. Thanks for your hard work.
Would be cool if you test some game emulation when reviewing these mini PC.

Compared to an EQ12 (DDR5) is the only performance benefit the low fan noise and built in power supply ?
It uses a more powerful CPU as well (Intel N200 instead of N100)

Can you show how to update the gmktech m6 fan bio update thing? I'm planning on buying it but I'm not good with this stuff.

@@ElevatedSystems ok, thank you

Bios in 2024?
OK you caught me showing my age. When I see that basic AMI interface I just think BIOS but yes, it’s UEFI.
