In both cases a Goal kick to the defender. The ball must start over the shooting line to be a goal or to be forced for a corner. If it was any other way all you would do would be to shoot the ball form your own end and look for deflections. For the attacker to gain any advantage the ball must start in the shooting area.
What happens if, as the offence player, I take a shot and the opponent manage to deflect my shot with his rod 'keeper - Whose possession will it be? Let's say the ball is got deflected and is still in play.
Hi Paul, What I don't understand about the FISTF rules concerns how you are able to set your team formation at kick-off in any way you wish. For example 9 players in a line across the shooting line. To me, if the intention is that the games mirrors real football as closely as possible, then the set up at the start should be 4-3-3; 4-4-2; 3-5-2, etc. Can you give any insight as to why these, let's say "unconventional" formations are allowed? Thanks
I am not the one to defend FISTF rules. I would encourage you to play the game the way you like to play it. The reason so many figures are on the defensive line is that line is critical to scoring a goal. Playing against a top player with 4 at the back for example, you would be 1-0 in a few flicks. No exaggeration :-)
@@subbuteoman I can imagine you would be. I just prefer a more true to life formation. Good job I don't play against people who can score against me that easily. :)
pal said he seen it in clips that fair enough if a player is working his way up and the ball is moving in the shooting area he can shoot, BUT if the ball in any way comes to a halt and your gona shoot you have to wait for the keeper to be ready?.. Any truth in that?.
I liked the Lampard reference ;)
im frderick im 7 and im new to sabbuteo. and you are teaching me to play GREAT thanks a lot!

Good question. You don't have to wait for the player to be ready to play goalie but a lot of times its sort of a courtesy to do so. Does that help?
JFK is alive and playing Subbuteo.

Fucking hell, ive missed this game! Shame it's died out. Kids today dont know what they're missing out on
wtf is a goal tender? Goalkeeper!
Eh? I thought Subbuteo players had hemispherical bases? My Liverpool, Everton and Norwich City sets from 1990 do anyway.
That frank lampard joke wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now. Still thanks for help.
Clearly a bitter Chelsea fan are you? ;)
