Turned out very well. You can use mineral oil instead of blo, its clear and non staining except on ivory, can turn it a bit yellow.

Thats is a beautiful knife. A little tip that might be helpful is you can use the back of your sanding belt as a strop and polish belt for your knife. Just don't go edge up on it might ruin your belt.

Try using tung oil it will not cause paduk or cherry to turn dark the way linseed oil does over time. Also makes a beautiful golden brown out of Osage orange after a few years.

Man I love all your videos! I’ve leaned a lot about this trade/skill and I’m just now getting into making some blades for myself! Just curious I seen when you were putting the edge on the knife w the 1x30 that you have a upgraded platton? Do u have a video of these upgrades because I have the same grinder and hate the stock one lol! Thanks again

@@theriversexperience9383 awesome I’d appreciate that very much also another question I wanted to ask,? When hand sanding after heat treat and temper should I sand 1 side all the way to a finished sand then flip over and go thru the steps of grits all over or do 220 both sides then up a grit both sides ect on up or one side then the next? I know everyone has their own preference but I wanted to ask yours??

One of the qualities of many of the knives you make is the appearance of toughness given the use of 1/4" steel. I like heavier tools in general for some reason, for me, i found that weight helps to steady my hand
