My editing software wasn't really wanting to work with me today so I had to release this a little late. I wasn't gonna let that hold me back from releasing a video today though.
Firstly, for me, perfect VDO and guide of how to. I'm thankful for that. secondly, I would appreciate a link or simply a brand of that little drill press polishing set-up? Thats trick!
Thats is a beautiful knife. A little tip that might be helpful is you can use the back of your sanding belt as a strop and polish belt for your knife. Just don't go edge up on it might ruin your belt.
Try using tung oil it will not cause paduk or cherry to turn dark the way linseed oil does over time. Also makes a beautiful golden brown out of Osage orange after a few years.
Man I love all your videos! I’ve leaned a lot about this trade/skill and I’m just now getting into making some blades for myself! Just curious I seen when you were putting the edge on the knife w the 1x30 that you have a upgraded platton? Do u have a video of these upgrades because I have the same grinder and hate the stock one lol! Thanks again
@@theriversexperience9383 awesome I’d appreciate that very much also another question I wanted to ask,? When hand sanding after heat treat and temper should I sand 1 side all the way to a finished sand then flip over and go thru the steps of grits all over or do 220 both sides then up a grit both sides ect on up or one side then the next? I know everyone has their own preference but I wanted to ask yours??

I've been following your videos for a while, and the knives you produce are beautiful. Do you sell any of these knives? I would be very interested in a few of the pieces you've made...... Keep up the Great work.
One of the qualities of many of the knives you make is the appearance of toughness given the use of 1/4" steel. I like heavier tools in general for some reason, for me, i found that weight helps to steady my hand
Beatiful and very nice instruction. "You cannot put the material back!" Truth.
Great video. Excellent knife.

It's a KMG 2x72 by Beaumont Metal works.

Nice 👍
How do you keep the bottom scale from breaking/chipping out when you drill through? I didn't see any backing plate. That knife is handsome.
Its on a piece of wood that I clamp my knives too when drill their holes.
Nice knife. New to the channel. What grit belt were you using for the Handle Sanding after glue up?
That was a 60 Grit ceramic belt.
Absolutely beautiful handle man! how do you like that jb weld epoxy? I see it at lowes and always wonder if its worth buying there or one off amazon
Its done a great job so far. I might try out a few different kinds of epoxy soon, just to try them out.
Beautiful work ! What steel?
This is made from 5160 leaf spring steel.
nice blade,i think it deserves a leather sheath.
What are the pros and cons to flaring the tube pins?

I post them for sale on my face book page here and there. "TRE workshop" on face book.
Another great job brother. I’m a little let down though. Where’s the banjo music.

Where did you find latex gloves? They are so expensive everywhere. Haha.
Lowes had a few boxes, of course they only had the fancy expensive kind.
Did you make the drill press buffer?
I think I got it from Harbor freight.
@@theriversexperience9383 thank you

One of the qualities of many of the knives you make is the appearance of toughness given the use of 1/4" steel. I like heavier tools in general for some reason, for me, i found that weight helps to steady my hand
I’d like to know what kind of steel that is and where do you buy that kind of steel.
This was 5160 Leaf Spring Steel off of a old Willy's Jeep.
@@theriversexperience9383 thank you , you do good work!
Firm!
Where did you get the platen on your 1x30?
I made the platen a while back when my 1x30 was my primary belt grinder for knife making.
Boss
If you sold that knife, how much would it be.
Awesome knife.
