Yes, i m shure. I even opened it, there is no protection on the screws (hisense). The sheet metal is very acoustic, it rings and vibrates. To begin with, I put some rubber tape, when I buy something for damping I will stick it inside.
mine makes an unusual loud buzzing noise, the fan (noise) stopped working and it heats extremely fast in less than a minute at 100w. Could it be the fan that's broken or the magnetron as well?
I need probably a magnetron for a Whirlpool microwave, I live in Europe , we have a 220-240 AC can or is that an issue when buying a magnetron? The cheapest I could find in Europe was 65 euro, including shipment.
My Panasonic Inverter microwave oven with genius sensor 1250 watts is making a sound like it has metal in it sometimes. Could it be a warped magnatron?
The magnetron in my microwave was buzzing and getting hot when when the microwave wasn't running. I bought and installed a new magnetron but it's still doing the same thing. Is it an issue with the transformer or possibly the capacitor?
If your Microwave is getting hot even when it's not running, that is definitely another issue since the magnetron only activates when the microwave powers on. Is your light always on inside the microwave?
@@CarolinaCowboys I thought maybe it was one of the switches. I unhooked them one at a time and the buzzing stopped with the top one unhooked. I plugged them all back in and now the magnetron isn't buzzing or getting hot but it does make a high pitch whining noise that seems to be coming from the board. I can get a new control board off ebay for $30. Is it worth trying? The microwave seems to work fine now other than that whining noise.
@@craigmankey9011 There's basically only 4 main components, the fan, the board, the capacitor, and the magnetron. If you've already replaced the magnetron I would replace either the capacitor or board next.
In the future a standard nut driver for those flat head sheet metal screws in the cabinet. We used them all the time to mount stuff at the phone companies….. good video though!
@@CarolinaCowboys I thought you were a psychic because you bought the magnetron even before opening the microwave oven, LOL. Good video though, thanks.
I have this exact model microwave and the magnetron just died. Your lucky that the grey box above the magnetron did not burn. That grey box on top of the mangetron burned and the the microwave guy basically told me get a new one. I was pissed.
I noticed the new magnetron didn't seem to fit properly and you had to use some brackets to hold it in place. Can you explain that a little? I have the exact same model and need to replace my magnetron as well. I used your ebay link but fear I'm going to have to jerry rig the thing like you had to. Any way to determine if the bolt-hole pattern is correct? Thanks!
Yes, the part number is correct, but the bolt pattern was slightly different. I just used some clamps I had laying around to hold it down and it's not going anywhere, but perhaps its jerry rigging, or what I like to call "creative problem solving".
@@CarolinaCowboys thanks for the quick response! I'll purchase it as well and prepare myself with brackets like you had. Appreciate the quick response!
@@CarolinaCowboys sorry, one more quick question. I pulled up the Amazon link and eBay link. It appears both have different part numbers. Do you have any suggestions?
When you find that your mounting pattern is off, I would rivet it on. If I don't plan on replacing it for a given length of time. Say at least ten years.
Sorry about that, I didn't even think about it until after I tore into it. But if you have any kind of buzzing that isn't part of the normal microwave sounds there's no other component that makes that sound, unless you have a broken fan maybe, but this is a common repair.
I consider myself "reasonably" mechanical(heck, I work on pianos) but I probably wouldn't go to the trouble of attempting to fix this. With my luck I wouldn't be able to get the thing back together! I do suspect though that the magnetron is the problem with my occasionally buzzing microwave. If it's doing that intermittently does that mean it's only a matter of time till the thing breaks down and can't function to cook anything?
Correct, it's only a matter of time before you will start seeing sparks. My philosophy is to take apart everything and if I can't fix it I was going to throw it away anyway. :-)
Your Magnetron is located on the top.. The waves enter the cavity through the mica sheet that's placed on the ceiling of your microwave. (They can't go through the holes)
