Great video. I love my pump wedge- the Yamahas and Kawasakis tend to ride a bit low at the bow at low speed - and the wedge makes a big difference. Ramiro late again 🤣
Ok I fitted my pump wedge and finally have had a decent day to test it out. No real top speed increase maybe 1mph?? Definitely gets the nose up heaps for in the waves. I would say that adjusting trim all the way down with pump wedge is centered standard. I also use the worx trim extension on my ski as well.
@@tommytsadventures I’m going to put my sponsons all the way down and see how it goes. Was always to ridged with them all the way down but now I think it’s looser with the nose up more.
Awesome! I am interested to know what you gained speed wise from the wedge.I am currently in the process of installing the Riva through hull exhaust, the drone of the high flow was too loud for my taste.
Hey Tommy, I just ordered a new 2023 yamaha GP1800R HO. I was wondering before your modifications what was your stock top speed using GPS on your GP1800R? Also what stage 1 Mods have you done so far and what is your new top speed on GPS after the stage 1 completed?
I can't remember the exact cost, but I go over most of the mods in this video. I discuss cost, ease of installation, and performance gains if any. Check it out when you get a chance. ua-cam.com/video/4KZ4fZQKcTQ/v-deo.html
I have the 2022 VX cruiser HO trying to do some Budgit stuff what would be the best thing to gain 4 mph at the cheapest option? I’m broke but I Feel the need the need for speed
The 1st thing I would do is a ribbon delete. I did it on my GP and gained 2mph. Just make sure it fits your VX. www.ebay.com/itm/325054356281?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1vcEFjXprT_-78nr7AVHkpg82&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=325054356281&targetid=1644837435003&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=9012039&poi=&campaignid=16743749222&mkgroupid=138744546207&rlsatarget=pla-1644837435003&abcId=9300842&merchantid=101704990&gclid=CjwKCAjwjYKjBhB5EiwAiFdSfvjDC45n6_sGhj5FcZpNHipIcLkmfZTQ0Uf0l6NPfzufOZxCv_5mFhoCakcQAvD_BwE
Haha yes it does Marc! I see this riders safety sticker everytime I edit a jump. So I noticed a considerable gain in mid range acceleration which I wasn't expecting. It makes sense though. With even more upward trim with the wedge, it forces more water into the intake grate. I haven't seen any negative affects yet. Can't wait to get it on calmer waters.
Nice images of the ocean! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Good times like always..

I see a difference for sure. Can't wait to get it on calmer waters. Ramiro late as usual, lol!
Looking good man!!
Thanks Aaron!

Did you notice any midrange gains? Maybe it's me but it feels like it accelerates better.
@@tommytsadventures yeh in between 20-50 mph it’s definitely got more poke.

I have mine in the middle setting. When I had it all the way down it was too grabby turning in.
@@tommytsadventures yeh with the pump wedge in you will probably be fine to run them all the way down.
Do you have a riva ride plate too? I am debating if I should just put the ride plate on my fx svho first then test.
Yes I have the Riva Gen 2 ride plate. It really helped with the porpoising at top speed.

Thanks David. I definitely was surprised by the mid range gains. Hopefully the wind dies down soon!
Let me know how the exhaust works out. Interested in knowing the difference is.
@@tommytsadventures Will do!

My stock top speed GPS was 64. I've done the Riva Stage 1 tune, engine breather kit, Riva exhaust, Riva intake filter, ribbon delete, Riva ride plate, Riva pump wedge, Solas 11/15 impeller, and Riva Sponsons. GPS after the mods are 70 -71mph.
Congrats on your new GP!
@@tommytsadventures
Wow! That's faster than a stock GP1800R SVHO. How much did all of it cost you about $2,100?

Thanks I love the new blue color. I just sold my 2016 VXR. It was a great ski.

Ribbon delete for sure
Good advice on the ribbon delete- also add the Riva power filter element to the stock airbox (it’s also a flame arrestor so you’ll be USCG compliant).

Yes, I used three bond silicon. Thanks for watching and commenting!
