I kept an ornate male for 12 years back in the late 1990's. He was mostly tame, he would infrequently swivel his body in an S pattern when I would pick him up. These are the best species I had experience with. If I had the time and motivation I would get another ornate

Absolutely "Gorgeous" Ornate Uromastyx-I am definitely getting an Ornate or an Arabian Uromastyx in the not so distant future.

Gorgeous! I have a male ornata that is 8-10 years old. Bought him off of a zookeeper 3 years ago. Do you ever sell females?

I found one in a small mom and pop pet store in the late 90's I think it was $80 one of the best herp experiences I have had.

When male ornate uros start getting their colors in, is it a gradual process or quick? My young male is a little over 2 years old and still has his baby colors with some blue and green coming in on his face and some blue on his neck. Just wondering!!

It varies a lot in individuals. Some start as early as a few months and others around a year. If yours is actually 2 years old it’s probably a female but I wouldn’t be able to say for sure without seeing photos of your Uro.

Hi.. Just a couple of things. My young Ornate and my Red Saharan both just love meal worms. I gave them meal worms when they were smaller not know that they don't need or shouldn't get them. So now I stopped feeding them meal worms but they really want them. They see me feeding my Lacerta or Geckos and they jump at me hoping that they will get a couple. I feel so bad now. But I don't want to cause any liver issues etc.. so I am not giving them any. But why do they want them so badly if they really shouldn't have them? They of course eat their regular veggies and some bird seed that is under the veggies but they just wait and wait hoping for a meal worm. Can I give them a few per week ? Also my Ornate is already trying to Brumate and my room temps are still close to 29C. The lights are on less time lately because I have been working late and getting up later. He is near enough to a large glass door that he can see when the Actual Sun comes up and down. And the days are getting a little shorter. So do you think that triggered brumation early ? I am in Tokyo and it is still warm. It will start cooling down next month. And it will be cold here until March. He just buries himself in his stone dark hide and I don't see him for days. Could there be some other problem?
