Audio Uromastyx Care Guide. By Phillip Lietz (Arids Only) Introduction.
A brand new baby that looks centuries old!❤
That’s what I call them! Shell-less tortoise. They’re so special!❤
So many of the characteristics of Uros remind me of the red headed agamas. Several behaviors. They can even look similar.
This scenario played out with my Chinese water dragons, many years ago. The male was oppressed. Within a year, I made an outdoor pond and tree habitat for them. The male was still often very dark. He only lived 2 years. He appeared scared. But the female never physically attacked him and she appeared calm and happy. As though there was an innate dislike of her.
Some people may have successfully co habbed Uros. I personally always tell people that whatever they’ve heard from anyone else, pay very close attention to your specific pets. Thank you for putting in the work with Uros. I’m glad these awesome lizards are more widely captive bred than they were a decade ago.
Great vids as always! Cant wait for part 2 & 3 I need part too as that the part I’m about to get too
When do you usually start separating them? I just saw my uromastyx thomasi babies of the same cluth (less than 2 months old for now) fighting, biting and chasing each other, is it a sign that I should separate them now?
Beautiful species... look very healthy
These guys look so much like the dwarf shield tail agamas I used to keep. They're just beautiful!!❤❤❤❤❤
@@AnnRichardson-d1o that’s what these are. lol. So good eye 👍🏽
@@aridsonly you know, that's funny coz I was wondering if they were the same. The species names are different. I googled it and what I saw was pretty ambiguous but I decided that they were different based on the info i saw. But you say they're the same, and they definitely look the same! Thanks for clearing that up!!! 😃😃😃
So adorable! My Mali's and geyris always did this and it's probably my favorite Uro behavior!❤❤❤❤
Would you be able to put together a short of uros in their natural habitat to see what a set up might need to look like to best mimic the wild?
At what point of their lives to they start beginning to show more color like that
Good video
What are the dimensions of this enclosure? Do you find it difficult to maintain proper temps?
Wheres part 2 & 3? Love your videos
release me human!
How old is the uromastyx?
Phenomenal advice and fantastic points. Thanks for the video!
I want a Granite so bad!!
Wow those yearlings are huge! I have a female yearling that is half the size. Any foods you think are good for growing them? Great info, cheers.
Nice video, Phil. Maybe you'll touch on it in the second part of the series, but I'd like to ask you if you follow a particular pattern when it comes to putting the pairs together after brumation. I mean, do you introduce the male to the female in the female's terrarium or is it the other way around?
I have a pair of juvenile ornates, i agree, i rather raise them to breed, than buying adults, hopefully you come to tinley October 12th
How much of this applies to aegyptia? I know the color thing probably doesnt work. I have time my baby is only like 4 months old lol
dang those things are nice! aee these the same ones listed for like 20k 😂
exceptionally nice. and correction: this is the same kind *selling* for 20k
@@aridsonly makes me feel so good seeing Uro's receiving the recognition and attention they deserve. Beautiful little guys. I hope one day these lavender guys are in my tax bracket as well😭
is it for sale
They for sale?
It’s a real life Charmander!🔥 lol
Wait its female I thougth it was a male 😮so beautifil
I've been looking for that color I got a baby ita a female
This dude look poisonous as sh1t
That orange is crazy! I have a normal green blue male
What size enclosure do they need? Can 2 live peacefully together? Same sex?
@@Cagal08 I’ve got a great care guide for these on my website aridsonly.com
Nice, I need one of those
What type of uromastyx is this guy?
Nigerian Uromastyx
❤ r u selling it?
whats the name of thedry food also give them ?
Do you take your older Uromastyx's outside?
@@sandrao9987 of course!
I'll have one of each please 😊👍
How old before you start to even see any colors ? Mine haven’t shown yet
@@doreenslocum0705 it really varies from one to another
Do you also give them the hibiscus leaves or mulberry leaves?
Do you keep temps on Thomasi the same as other Uromastyx species?
@@Cagal08 I do indeed
@@aridsonly Thank you
Please go and have your thumb looked at because the brown line on the nail could be a melanoma.
@@paulacavaco9247 thanks for the concern but it’s just damage from wrestling
Damn. He is gorgeous 😍
Wow he's so much bigger than mine is. The colors are so epic
He's gorgeous
I used to have a uromastyx when I was very young. Unfortunately the store that I got him from didn't tell me a lot about them but I'm still very interested in them.
Very cool pretty neat!
Can these guys be fed a diet of only veg?
@@Project-Club no they are pretty omnivorous
@@aridsonlyAh ok. Do you have any suggestions for lizards that are veg only that isn’t a Uro? I already own one haha.
What's your humidity and temp for the incubator? Nice looking clutch man keep it up!
@@justinchapman5238 I haven’t measured humidity in years so I’m not sure, I just got by feel. Temps range from 88-92 in the incubators. Thank you
This is all such good advice. I also have beardies and snakes and uros are definitely different temperament wise. My beardies were like little scaly puppies and took to me right away. Always down to be held and walked. My captive uro I would say tolerates me LOL. He loves to take food from my hands and will let me in his cage without freaking out to clean and what have you but I haven't pushed it to holding him yet. Just gaining his trust and recognizing this is a night/day difference from everything else I keep. He is active pooping, growing and eating so I consider it a win :) He will absolutely let me know if he isn't in the mood for me and I leave him be. We will get there at some point.
