  • We spent three nights at Mew Lake campground at the end of August. The sites here were beautiful. Almost all of them back on to the lake. We could hear wolves and loons throughout the night. I would highly recommend staying at this campground :)
Also, for those who don't know, I'm a type 1 diabetic and this was the first time I've been camping since my diagnosis.

hey you mean the Autumn Leaves hasn't start turning yet LOL ... wishing you the best of health for many years to come (your diagnosis) ... Mew Lake is a wonderful place to camp. Love the blueberry fields that's there across the road from the shower area, but be careful of bears when picking blueberries as we saw some one year ... also the paths that follow from those fields was a wonderful treat to explore ChEeR

Mew Lake is beautiful, I usually like the sites that have lots of trees, it not only protects you from elements but the trees also kind of provide segregation and privacy from other campsites. Usually, these sites have a lot of traffic. Have you stayed at the Yurt there in winter? I usually do winter hiking here all the way to Whitefish lake. My dad uses the insulin and we used to get the needle poke for the blood test, but there is a new device now available in Shoppers which does not require needle poking, It is just placed on the skin and it reads the blood glucose. The poking part of your video reminded me, I used to poke myself for fun when testing dad, LOL

I really liked the Mew Lake campground and I found it wasn’t very busy at the radio free sites. I haven’t stayed in the park in winter, but I have stayed in a yurt before and I would highly recommend it. They are very comfortable. I have a continuous glucose monitor like you described, but sometimes I need to double check the number with a finger poke 😊

Love it, Laura. Other than the fact that I fainted when you gave yourself an injection. ;o)

Don’t worry! I felt the same way when I was first diagnosed and had to start injections.

This was site 117 at Mew Lake campground. It was a quiet non electric site. 😊 Only downside was that it was right next to the outhouse and the doors opening and closing were loud.
