So please go easy on us if we made any blatant misplays! More Yu-Gi-Oh Theme Duels - ua-cam.com/play/PLR9jhO9W17H53MnJ2UnY94GBPR7PrAtp2.html
I personally prefer "Darkness" because they're canonically chill dudes (even tho Dark world sounds intimidating), that even help the lightsworn guys. So the dichotomy of scary looking giant guys and pretty chill amazes me
I am an avid darkworld player. And there were so many better ways to combo, but you did a good job Paul. And I don't have any of the fusion cards that you used. Would like to find those.
@PerlesAnales dark world effect usually ends in a rip, mill, or destruction. Usually procing lightsworn effect using rips, Banish, mill, special summon, or destroys. 3 of which will proc dark world effects. You can even see it in the duel. Multiple times 1 persons effect would snowball into both of then procing 1 or 2 effects off the resolving card
It's hilarious how long each turn was, it was almost like a competition to see who could chain effects longer lol. Very reminiscent of the anime and a great duel.
@@elin111 Yeah that's not how the yugioh anime works you either don't know what you are talking about or haven't watched yugioh beyond season 1 of Duel Monsters, in the season finale of DM Atem literally brings out all three God cards with ease, Judai but the end of the series can bring out 2-3 op fusions monsters in one turn, Yusei by S4 was able to summon all 5 signer dragons, Astral and Yuma who thing is OTKs and insane end boards, Yuya was able to summon every summoning expect ritual in one turn I'm not even going to mention Vrains 💀
Just wanted to say a few things. 1: The duels were so one-sided depending on who went first was amazing to watch. We got to see the full power of each deck. 2: I love how you guys did the animation change in the background for when the field card for Dark World was activated! Really nice detail! 3: I've said it before and I'll do it again - I love how you guys post the card on the screen for people to read while the duel is going on! Very helpful and it helps instead of me having to type in the card myself like I used to do on other videos! 4: LOVE the template for the whole duel on the screen itself! Really makes me feel like I'm watching an anime duel! 5: Final thing, loved the duel itself! It was really interesting to watch 2 decks that are almost the same, but opposites of each other (mechanic-wise) face each other. Thanks for another amazing duel!
Regardless of which archetype you prefer, the card lore suggests that Dark World wins by corrupting the Lightsworn monsters and turning them into the Twilightsworn.
Good, they're mostly fine the King is just a dickhead. Besides it's just another kingdom invading another kingdom it's normal life lol. I'd like to imagine good old Lightsworn players tell me how they built that so-called glorious kingdom.
Old school Yu-Gi-Oh player who just bought lightsworn structure deck....its a complete different game since i last played it in the 00's . Watching this taught me how to use this deck. Thanks😊
I recently got recommended the old school classic starter deck videos, which I really liked because I remember them from when I was younger. But never really kept up with the game. Now seeing the 1st turn in the video. My god yu-gi-oh changed lmao
The new Lightsworns (the Minerva Synchro, Dragonling/baby Judgment Dragon and Weiss) was a huge buff for them. Also fun fact, Weiss and Snoww are one in the same.
That was actually a very fun duel to watch. Would love to see more themed duels like this where the archetypes interact with. Maybe next time something Perfomapal and Performmage xD.
Love seeing Dark World decks using all the newest support. That was what I played back in the day. Archives is such a good card along with Big Grapha and Accession.
Had a funny thing happen with DW: Droll and Lock Bird is the bane of the deck. So I was able to build a field with Genta and Snoww, and Reign Beaux and Gates. Draw a card and then get drolled. Had Card Destruction in hand, played it, but neither of us could draw a hand to replace it. I won the round. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap!
I really love these kinds of duels. Slow but each move is done with purpose. Playing optimal but also dramatic and with flare. This is what the anime would be like if real decks and people were in it and I love it
This might be my favorite duel you guys have uploaded to the channel, but I might be biased because I like Dark World a lot and Lightsworn is my all time favorite deck, lmao. So it was a game of just rooting for whoever's turn it was. Seeing Lightsworn plays I've done a hundred times played out by some of my favorite Yugituber guys was a delight! Both of these decks can _really_ go off in the right situation and it _never_ feels like you're fully out of it until you're at 0. Great job to both of you!
It's very weird seeing Yu-gi-oh duels like this because as a kid who watched the anime (both original and GX) I just built a deck with cards that I liked that I saw on those shows. It is very interesting to see how games are played in, I'm guessing, at least a semi competitive way
My favorite archetype between the two is definitely Dark World. It has an interesting playstyle in discarding your own cards to receive benefits, but above all else, all their cards used to be at low rarity. Back when I was younger, it was one of the only archetypes that I had a few cards for, so the idea of building a deck with them was always exciting.
as dark world was the first deck I completed and still own to this day even buying 3 of the new structure decks and support cards I really liked this vid
Returnee here: The revised dark world and lightsworn archetypes are (to my opinion at least) the only archetypes that make sense in modern yugioh. Really powerful decks when skillfully played, yet they still have their weaknesses that you can exploit. Also still possible to mix and match with different archetypes and staples to create a multitude of new funny and great strategies. So, still enjoyable modern decks to play while not breaking the game and making it a one-deck-one-strategy-win-all game like snake-eyes-fire just made the game lately.
I loved both of these decks growing up. My late uncle and his friends and I would play all the time. With dark world , light sworn , zombies, ect... It’s amazing to see them get support. Hopefully heros are next!
I think this would've broken the rules of the themed match but I saw a really good Bystial-Tear Lightsworn deck. the idea is that you banish your own lightsworns/twilightsworns with Magnamhut in order to search and recover your Dragons (so you wouldn't need to hard draw Judgement/Punishment)--> mill the Tears and fusion summon big things--> Ishisu shenanigans. I think this build is stronger than most Dark World decks (but it stops being Lightsworn)
I love it im so glad you guys made this video!! I commented maybe a month ago asking for a video like this and you guys liked my comment so i am so excited for this video!!! Love APS
I recently picked up the Dark World structure deck so I could have something recent that is usable in the current era of Yugioh, so i’m excited to see how it’s supposed to be used
Michael was definitely the play for that last turn. Worst case scenario you just suicide him into one of the darkworld bosses for the HP and dack refill.
Awesome duels, that was a good matchup you guys found. This is basically dueling conform Thematic YGO rules already Paul, it's quite intuitive, I knew you'd like it as a format to play with your team at home, such enjoyable duels to watch!
Really fun duel. Wow I had so much fun watching you guys play. I felt bad for Paul after the first game however his deck made a phenomenal come back and I couldn’t help but feel bad for Alec in the end. Lightsworn is really strong but you really have to count your cards just like Paul mentioned.
I stopped yugioh when i was in highschool, I had a blackwing deck that was pretty much basic. Fast forward like 6 years, i decided to buy 3x LS structures and then top it up with some new XYZ monsters like Draccosack and Felgrand, i built the dragonsworn style of it, missing a few cards of course because my country doesnt have access like that. But i would've love to see the lightsworns come out on top! great video.
Love these theme duels. Have you considered doing theme duels making the decks competitive with handtraps and generic extra deck monsters like Apollousa and Knightmare cards?
that was so damn cool to watch! i once had a lightsworn deck but never knew it was this crazy dark world cracked too tho man whatttttt anyway GG guys thanks for the video
So why don't you guys do irl duels with all the duel terminal archetypes, you can make it a series, start from the very beginning, cover the lore as each new episode drops, and give some much needed love to the duel terminal card thats have been left behind
Dark World best deck LETS GOOOO!! Hell yeah!! Paul doing some light handlooping in game 2 was real nice. A bit of a misplay on the Reign-Beaux/Grapha summon loop tho. Instead of returning Sillva to hand he should’ve returned Genta to pitch it for the field spell again and keep extending, cuz the only HOPT in this deck is Genta’s summon from banish. Then with the field spell discard either Reign-Beaux or Grapha to the put the Sillva in his hand so he could hand loop for 2 again during Alec’s with Big Grapha. But I will say, Paul getting to trigger OG Reign-Beaux’s effect was pretty nuts! Paul winning the match while doing illegal plays with Accession and Archives is honestly pretty on theme. Lore wise the Dark World monsters engage in very shady dealings and corrupt practices
Do you share deck lists anywhere? I played Yugioh back in the day and Lightsworn were always an archetype I thought looked super cool so I'm curious what the exact list is.
As a darkworld player i was very happy. Well done Paul, and the other player didnt do bad either..lol Alec you did a great job as well. Thanka for a great duel guys.

Probably darkness. Some of my favorite monsters are dark - Jinzo, Plasma, etc
do more of these lore duels and evontually you could make tournament kinda thing with them
Lightsworn vs dark world is literally the definition of we play on our turns
not really??
@PerlesAnales dark world effect usually ends in a rip, mill, or destruction. Usually procing lightsworn effect using rips, Banish, mill, special summon, or destroys. 3 of which will proc dark world effects.
You can even see it in the duel. Multiple times 1 persons effect would snowball into both of then procing 1 or 2 effects off the resolving card
Me watching Alec's first turn in the duel.... "This is fine."
That was quite a start 😀👍
These two deck my favorite
Ah, Yu-Gi-Oh.
The fact that this kind of play coul happen so early on in ygo history is crazy to me
@@ivolopez-felix5270 Yes no kidding , the newest archetypes can do that with eyes closed if all the cards go in the right direction.
It's hilarious how long each turn was, it was almost like a competition to see who could chain effects longer lol. Very reminiscent of the anime and a great duel.
If it was reminiscent of the anime they'd summon a 1200ATK vanilla then do some D&D bs logic to cheat
@@elin111 but they didn't cheat because those were the actual rules in Duelist Kingdom.

As a dude who had Dark World as his 1st ever deck, this video gives me *LIFE!*
Cherish it for life is short.
And mine was Lightsworn. You know what that means?
bro same!

These were the two decks that helped get me back into Yugioh! Playing with their new support felt like a create-a-card exhibition
Both Lightsworn and Dark Workd have a place in my heart for being two of my favorite decks in Over the Nexus
Regardless of which archetype you prefer, the card lore suggests that Dark World wins by corrupting the Lightsworn monsters and turning them into the Twilightsworn.

My sister plays lightsworn and my brother plays darkworld. They are always at odds and it’s hilarious
I like this form of content, using modern strategies while still keeping a somewhat casual theme
I recently got recommended the old school classic starter deck videos, which I really liked because I remember them from when I was younger. But never really kept up with the game. Now seeing the 1st turn in the video. My god yu-gi-oh changed lmao
Dark World was one of my first favourite archetypes. The concept of gaining effects by discarding cards was and still is so interesting to me.
Both decks really like the graveyard
You should sneak in a Necrovalley, just in case, you might lose, so you can pause the game. 😂
They just disagree on how they should be sent there.
Thanks for putting in the effort to do these themed duels. They are always a treat!
You've gotten really good at explaining cards, and doing that naturally!
I think it's cool that you guys actually built viable versions of the deck to duel with, instead of three of insert structure deck here.
Love seeing Dark World decks using all the newest support. That was what I played back in the day. Archives is such a good card along with Big Grapha and Accession.
Michael is Severely Underrated!
Always make sure to summon him before Judgement, then Field Wipe to refill your deck and life points 👌
As someone who played both these decks, I love this video. Both of you really popped off when you could! Great duel, duelists!

In game 3 Paul activated the effect of "dark world archives" with no dark world monsters on the field, which an illegal activation
He also activated Accession's effect to add itself back to the hand but didn't discard a DW monster.
as dark world was the first deck I completed and still own to this day even buying 3 of the new structure decks and support cards I really liked this vid
The Dark World cards proved to be real threats during the Season 03 of GX when Jaden Yuki and his friends entered into the Spirit World Dimension (?).

I hate facing either of these decks in Duel Links but Darkworlds have cooler art.
Please keep these types of theme duels coming!!
Milling vs Discarding! These decks were like the original "'cost' for advantage"
You guys honestly deserve 1 million subs keep up the grind 💯
so much more fun than META even there is a place for those as well
Wow this was a lot of fun to watch 😊 thank you guys
Can you guys do more rival theme duels like Gem knights vs Lavals?

Hey Paul I appreciate the editing on these videos. Especially when the cards pop up on screen 👍 it’s simple but it’s effective
I'm a 80s baby so the whole time i was expecting paul to quote Tim Curry frim legend " you think you can destroy me we are brothers eternal!!" 😂
Haven't played in years, but that Lightsworn deck reminds me of my Satellarknight deck I used to run. That first turn by Alec was kinda crazy.
This was a lot of fun to watch both Alec and Paul have some crazy turn ones.
Lightsworns did they best 😢
That first turn on that first duel tho lol dang.
Love this new Theme Duel formats!

The field spell on the sides was a really nice touch

Theme Duels and House Tournaments! Hell Yeah! Team APS Rules (the duels 😏)! 🔥🔥🔥
Did they post the decklist anywhere?
They are in the description 👍🏽
that was so damn cool to watch! i once had a lightsworn deck but never knew it was this crazy
dark world cracked too tho man whatttttt anyway GG guys thanks for the video
10:19 Alec realised that he didn't add a judgement dragon in his deck😢
When people don’t watch the full video before commenting. It was in his hand. That’s why the efffect failed.
So why don't you guys do irl duels with all the duel terminal archetypes, you can make it a series, start from the very beginning, cover the lore as each new episode drops, and give some much needed love to the duel terminal card thats have been left behind
You guys should try doing gimmick puppets vs chronomaly
Maybe paul didn't want to do it to him, but if he ran akashik magician, he certainly could have hand looped him in the second game.
Great video!
That was the longest first turn ever ! 😂
I'm a simple man, I see Lightsworns, I like/comment.
I need a deck profile for both of these amazing decks 😊
I finished a fresh bowl of rice and chicken in the time it took for that first turn to wrap up... Yu-Gi-Oh! is beautiful.
I liked that the power levels seemed fair enough
