The reason they come all mixed up is because they were advertised as ready to do out of the box. You could supposedly pull them right out and immediately due with them already in a random order, so you didn't have to shuffle.
"Obnoxious" Celtic Guardian is why they were called retrains. He was known as Retrained Celtic Guardian in the OCG but was called "obnoxious" in translation in English instead for some reason.
Well his name "Obnoxious" is prolly just in reference to its effect which prevents it from being destroyed by 1900 or more attack monsters. Obnoxious as in annoying or that the guard now won't ever go away from its enemies lol.
I loved the Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon deck as a kid! It made love dragons and Red-Eyes! Getting out Darkness and pumping him to like 5000 ATK felt so epic!

It's funny, because I've been going through this playlist while doing stuff in games, but I haven't gotten to this era yet. I really enjoy these videos, taking me back to the time when I actually played.
These videos really bring me back 😄 I really love the more casual play for yugioh since the rules can be more relaxed and there is more freedom in what you can play as opposed to if you stick to the meta strategies. It's also more fun since there is more of a genuine back-and-forth instead of the constant negates and OTKs of the modern competitive scene
I love the old structure decks! Especially the neodeadalus art. Though fun fact the structure decks for it have a misprint so you have to sacrifice a normal daedalus to special summon it. The play guide that comes with the deck follows the proper effect/summon condition so im sure some new players were very confused
I loved the Exxod vs Harpie duel the best, as Exxod was my first REAL deck and my uncle had Harpies. We still duel them every so often as he keeps them updated. And my Exxod Subterror's are awesome 👌 Though I gotta say, 1:33:55, was a bad call. Exxod is not worth sacrificing a Great Sphinx XD
If you miss old yugioh and want to play again, I suggest Goat format. It uses only cards up til the April 2005 banlist, excluding Exarion Universe, and it never changes so you never have to worry about things getting limited or added in new booster sets. There are a surprising number of cool decks to play such as Vampire Lord zombies, Relinquished, Goat Control, Chaos Turbo, Zoo Beatdown, Warriors, Horus lvl 8, Final Countdown, Burn, Fairies, Gravekeepers, Rock, and Flip Control.
The dragon´s roar vs zombie madness duel gave me strong nostalgic vibes, since dragon´s roar was my first "real" deck besides the joey starter deck and i ran into this older guy who had the zombie deck, and he was a MANIAC duelist X D he really loved to turn every duel into an anime event and he always performed as he was summoning the winged dragon of ra, even if he just set a monster. I liked the fire deck, i had a gimmicky non-competitive burner-deck using Spirit of the Flames, Inferno, UFO Turt’, Backfire, Ultimate Baseball Kid, and as a bonus, i use the fire boss monster to destroy my opponent’s spell and traps. Although i think i had all but one structure deck from these releases.

I miss Larry in the hole. You guys should still be going to Targets, Wal-Marts, and independent places. After rarity collection there are a few cheap selections out there. Target had a 3 booster pack and 1 extra card set for $8.99. And one of may local places did a 6 for $20.00 booster pack or certain structure decks sale. So go out there and check for things. If you can.
Man, this was cool to see. Have you guys thought about doing the OCG character structure decks? There's 8 total and they're different to the starter decks we got with strong cards like Jinzo, Crush Card Virus, and Thousand-eyes Restrict along with being more accurate to their anime decks. They also got a "Volume 2" of Joey's deck that we never did. Obviously you'd want to just gather the English cards yourself but there's card lists on the wiki.
