The Goodfellas paperweight is a razor blade and garlic. You see, Paulie had this wonderful system for doing the garlic. He used a razor. And he used to slice it so thin that it used to liquify in the pan with just a little oil. It's a very good system.
The sauce still had too much onion but yeah… I was gonna comment here but I knew somebody would beat me to it

Going to have to get the Blade Runner box set. Haven't upgraded my DVD copy of Blade Runner, mostly because it was a beautiful 5 disc limited edition set, with 5 cuts of the film, hours and hours of extras, and loads of little extra bits included in the case. Those are beautiful boxsets.

I'm actually disappointed that at that price it did not include the very excellent soundtrack by Vangelis.
Cool editions but does anyone actually want art cards? Posters I get, but never understood why so many companies include them.

They're not paperweights; they're crystal plaques, and that's a clove of garlic with the razor blade, because that's how Paulie would slice the garlic in prison.
Blade Runner is the best sci fi movie. Incredible special effects . Many of the technological ideas are still relevant today.
I need to rewatch it soon. I'll probably appreciate more on rewatches.

The symbol in the glass for Goodfellas is a blade and garlic that Pauly cuts up. In the 1917 set the pictures of the woman and woman with baby are the ones that the protagonist keeps looking at during the movie.
Wow Ken, what a score!! Those things look amazing!! Definitely on the pricey side but if I had to pick, Blade Runner would be the one I get.

Really cool nice sets. If I didn't own the movies already I would gladly pay the extra for these releases. Since I already own, I won't double dip and instead spend the money on releases I don't have.

Well they meant in email that your promo copies aren't numbered. All thesd sets are limited to 3000 and the crystal plaque inside will have the number of your copy. For example 0248/3000 etc.

Don't feel bad, last year was the first time I saw Scarface too. Another fun fact, 2020 was the first time I saw The Dark Knight Trilogy and Blade Runner.

Nice unboxing of 4 great movies Ken! The Scarface edition is my favorite because it's one of my favorite movies of all time and because it's got the green card and unbelievable premium packaging! I'm really blown away by the work of this new boutique company, absolutely amazing and they definitely brought the big guns for their opening act, no pun intended! As always keep up the great work!

I wondered bout that. I bought a UK copy for like 12 bucks from Zavvi but haven’t watched it. I was sure it wasn’t as bad as people made out. Kinda wish I waited a couple months and got this. Well tbh I’d probably want them all if I bought one and I have ALL of these 4ks already
I picked up Blade Runner because it’s a top 5 film for me and the artwork is gorgeous. Probably the only title I’ll pick up from this line though since they’re so expensive.

The paperweight for Goodfellas wasn't a guitar pick,.. it's a razor cutting into the garlic from the prison scene when he was cooking all the food with the bread and the garlic and the wine Etc

The Unicorn sequence was unused footage from Ridley Scott's movie Legend and the final scene when Deckard was driving and you see the nature footage is again actually footage of 2unit footage from the Movie the Shinning as understand had to be approved from Stanley Kubrick himself. The other ending that was cut from Blade Runner the theater cut was Rachel discussing that were ment to be together then says what we all know Rachel says "WE WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER "Blatantly stated that Both were Replicant and Deckards stunned look that Harrison Ford does flawlessly.They are the examples of the Tyrel corps promo line."MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN. The Ureka moment that was not used to make it more implied reality.
Probably waiting to do a sequel. When Blade Runner was released and was considered a flop But obviously now is a masterpiece that stands up to this day.
I like the Original because it was the only version available. Cut the narrative by Harrison and add the Unicorn was a great addition. The alternative ending I don't like because less is not always better.To many films today use abrupt ending assuming it's art. The ending for the Supranos and No country for old men did this very well. To each his own. Don't get me started on who shot first Greedo or Han. It Obviously was Han in original version of Star Wars not Specialized edition. The Rachel scene I talked about was in a UA-cam cut Blade Scenes Good Video 😎.
Great editions but not horror not for me. I have comparable boxed versions of horror movies from other boutique labels and cost as much. Neat unboxing good showing and cool video Ken!👉😃👈
I received the Blade Runner Film Vault today and wow.... this is an amazing collection to have. Very good artwork, well-made..... I mean, this is a beautiful set. I will have to build a new Blu-ray shelf for this amazing collection. After unboxing that box set, I ordered the other three of the collections. The Blade Runner set is already sold out as of today. Two things concerning the video: the pictures of the 1917 box set represents the wife of one of the character of the film (he watches those pictures sitting near a tree, If I remember well; wife maybe). Second thing, the crystal display plaque is numbered for me

I may be wrong but that guitar pick looking thing I think it’s actually garlic clove. Paul Cicero cuts a garlic cloves into super fine strips of garlic for his recipe

I debated getting these when they were announced and I finally ordered the first 3 (I passed on 1917). Hopefully they arrive in February. It takes about 2-3 months for Zavvi items to reach my door.

I think I like the Scarface set the best out of all of them. The art is fantastic. I love these boxes. I just wish they were available from some source other than Zavvi, honestly. BTW, the green card is hilarious... but remember, it's more about what Tony Montana had to DO (near the beginning of the film) in order to get his green card. I thought that was a clever addition to the set. I literally laughed out loud!😂

That's not a guitar-pick Ken - it's a garlic glove. In the movie they use a razor blade to slice garlic.
What's the picture like in The Goodfellas 4K?
I love Blade Runner and it is a nice set but just don't think it is worth $65 for me. I also hate the age restrictions on the plastic slip. Wish was a sticker.

@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 Arrow UK limited editions will put the age restriction on a j-card that is removed not on the actual case.
The packaging is really nice, very premium......I just wouldn't want to have to dig through all that every time just to get to the discs. I would probably actually keep the discs separate, in a standard case.

I believe the numbers that are missing are on the glass paperweight things. Those are supposed to be individually numbered and yours aren't. That must be what their email was referring to.

Have you seen the suitcase of blade runner I have on the DVD edition it’s even more mind blowing it has all five 5 blade runner minus the second test version I was lucky to see that version one in 70 millimeter the difference is that he came up on the car in the background in the final scene

You have the promotion packs the crystal plaques aren’t engraved with 1-3000 Where as the bought ones will have there limited number
These are WAYYY better than titans of cult. The only reason I’ll drop this money though is if it’s like OOP and I must have some copy.
Some beautiful editions of great films! 1917 is probably my favorite war film.

WB Blu-ray discs are almost always region free.
Not in love with the off-white spine but these look amazing. Really enjoy the spine# as a collection. I could see myself getting them for movies I absolutely love which in this lot would be all of them except 1917. Just wouldn’t watch 1917 enough to justify the price. Wish they were $50 instead of $65. Wondering if there are a limited amount of these made or if they will go OOP?

While I am a film collector and not a plastic, cardboard or format collector, it never ceases to amaze me how Britain, Europe and Asia treats our movies with more celebration than we do.

You're paying for the packaging and extras. Definitely not a necessity but if you're a huge fan and are doing well financially it's cool to own.
I bet those Warner Bros/Universal blu-rays are Region Free as well like a lot of their previous releases have been over the years. As far as 1917, since it is an eOne/Dreamworks release, you would have to try it out to see.
I already own all these on 4k so it's a hard pass for me. Gotta use the money on new releases.

Unfortunately the “individually numbered crystal display plaques” came out of their place holders and caused noticeable cracks in the interior cardboard.
Disappointing considering the amount these cost and the double dipping involved to get them.

Every reviewers box has been broken by the useless glass box so find this a little over priced considering there is nothing new on the discs and the packaging isn't actually premium

And it’s not the best war movie either. It blows its load with D day in the first 15 min and it’s all downhill after that. I think full metal jacket is my favorite war flick. 1917 is too gimmicky for me. Style over substance. Dunkirk from around the same time is also much better
@@robertfaulkner1824 disagree big time. Full metal jacket is a masterpiece but its not really a war film. More of an anti war film. SPR is also a masterpiece and doesn’t “blow its load early” thats what sucks you in and everything after is riveting. The final battle is also phenomenal and gut wrenching.

US UA-camrs should not imo be getting sent premium UK box sets for free when we in the UK can barely get hold of them . The UK market gets no freebies from the US.

Thank you for additional detail about the movie. Not sure if Final Cut is the definitive edition for me as I haven't seen all the cuts. I do remember there being a more (extended) gory scene of Tyrel getting has head crushed and eyes squeezed in (definitely more bloody) that's not in the Final Cut. It's perhaps in the international edition (correct me if I'm wrong).
@@nathanielsmith9400 It was in the original version then it was changed and international versions had. I have HD set that was 1 of the many box sets in 2006 that was competing with Bluray .It was a great set but the quality control on the manufacturers of many of their disc was bad as the problems of skipping in a few scenes. It the big push to get out the discs and the new technology was sound but whole disc manufacturing was the final blow to the HD format. This constant defective HD disc was to much to fix in the short term then the Studios were going with Bluray Format and the rest is history. The Best HD disc I still play is The Thing it top of the line and is a raw transfer wich shows how going it still. HD if things had been better it could been an alternative format
The most Defective HD today is a Harry Potter disc don't remember which on.Its gone bad and unplayable.A tell of their poor manufacturing process. I still play Battlestar Galactica season 1 The only season on HD.
@@stephendevore3902 Thanks for the reply. That's a surprise that scene is the original and had to be toned down for subsequent cut. I do remember the HD-DVD vs Blu-ray format war back in the days and Blade Runner having the set with 5 cuts on HD-DVD.
