I really enjoyed your video. Your comments about going to the neighbors really made my day. Thank you! It's good to laugh. I love Peonies and learned something new today about them. We had a new home built and moved October 2018. I have a backyard that I am attempting to design with flowers. I want to definitely want Peonies. Thanks again!

The peonies that we have at our house were planted in the 1950’s by my grandma. To this year 2021, they continue to grow and bloom. I’m so proud to carry on my grandma’s legacy.
I live in the south of England and over 40 years ago, my husband and I dug up part of a clump of beautiful pink paeonies that grew in my grandma's garden. We had no idea of what we were doing as we knew nothing about gardening at that time as we were newly married. Friends told me that they would never survive but 43 years later they are thriving and draw admiring glances from passers by. I have no idea of their name but they are fragrant.
Hi Allen, Better late then, never . My niece shared this little trick to keep squirrels , chipmunks , moles and etc. out of my large hydrangeas pots , or garden spaces and I found it b very effective . Burying heavy duty plastic pinnic forks under the soil . They immediately retreat . Stopped burying their nuts , eating my roots , and destroying my plants ❗ Just remember when your digging around too . It only took a few around the outside , Prongs Up ! Facing different directions and some were broken in half for depth . It was amazing for me . Irritating to them . No $$ investments required . 🤗.. I also used the branches of mini rose bushes with the prickly needles on the trunk of one particular tree on my garden to keep them off by attaching it to the higher branches .It kept them out of this tree . 🤗 I'm so filled with Inspiration and hope for my little Cottage Garden with each video. I watch .🤔 From Old to New That's how it grew By GOD'S Grace My Strength , My Joy Has been Renewed🕯..
Years ago we bought a house in the country ( france ) and next to the barn there was a huge pile of sand that had been there for quite a while. We sold the barn ( ugly ) and moved the sand and then the next spring came up the most amazing peonies ! Huge gorgeous blooms, they had been waiting for their moment !
@@PAllenSmith My great uncle was a well know Scottish gardener who help make a famous west coast garden ( Gulf Stream! ) and as a child I was more into clearing and preparing but always asking questions and trying to memorise the names. When we bought this old house in Normandy we had 2000 m2 so I set about making a potager with raised beds where the barn was ( no ground polution) and then planted formal and informal hedges then a whole acid section with azaleas and rodos and hostas, paved an area with an oriental gate, strung wires with 'wedding day' roses growing over it. I planted 150 trees in all and about 55 roses, mainly David Austen roses. We build a long terrace and around the house I spent two years digging up enormous stones and trash to surround the house and other barn with flower beds. We re built the old well head and grew around it 'snow ball' and lilace and orange Blossom. I used to work only week ends and garden into the night, sometimes with the headlamps of the pick up ! My neighbour was a farmer so manure was free. I spent almost 15 years of my life in the garden and it was fabulous and mature when I left. Sadly we separated and the house was sold and the buyers were not gardeners but I never went back to see, I only look forward in life. I do miss my peonies but yours beat me hands down !! My present house has sterile soil, its a rental so I am moving into a wonderful old 'noble' house further South and the garden is huge and needs everything doing !! plans plans, peonies peonies !! Thank you for your wonderful talk, best wishes xo

I have some of my grandmothers. My dad dug up a few for me from my home town in North Iowa and transplanted in Illinois. They will come with me when I move. Nice to hear there is a flower that actually does better in the north than south!
My grandmother had the most beautiful peonies. I am older and Memorial Day was observed big time. We always cut the peonies and took them to the cemetery to honor the past.

Peonies are one of my wife favorite flowers but they are hard to grow in Texas. They love cold weather and Texas was a is hot, hot state. So I buy them at a flower shop and make her happy to enjoy them for a while.
I live in Alaska and peonies love the front of my house and the front of my greenhouse. (that happens to be blue.) It is so wonderful when you find a plants happy spot and they just thrive. The fact they smell so good, peonies just give me warm fuzzies.
Several years ago I was given a Peonies plant in a plastic container. Once those beautiful flowers bloomed and past I actually had the plant in the garbage until I grabbed it back and simply planted it in the corner of my tiny garden. Every spring this wonderful plant produces at least 100 exceptional blossoms which I cut, enjoy myself and give to my neighbors,.
My Grandmother in Brooklyn NY used to raise roses that dated back to the mid 1920s. They had rounded blossoms with many pink petals that were highly fragrant and looked very much peonies.

I've split and separated all my varieties of peonies because they get so large. I was taught by my grandmother that you should dig up the tubers about every five years to clean them up and separate, then replant. They've always done beautifully. I don't bother to fertilize or do anything with the plants other than cut them down after frost in the fall.
Yes. I live in zone 6a and I wait to separate peonies until late fall. If possible I would like to wait until frost has occurred and the foliage has at least started to die back. Truthfully, with 5 children I attempt the ideal but my gardens are attended to when time and weather allow. 🤗
@luthers teaching thanks for the reply 👍 I live in 7a I'll do it in October ,mine hasn't bloomed in 2 yrs 😫I've planted them over 10 yrs ago .Thank you so much 👍
Laura Alt you are so very welcome. There have also been times when I just need to get the peonies split because they’re too big so in the fall I might take my spade and cut through the plant, leaving part without disturbing it and removing the extra. I then go ahead and replant that which I’ve just dug up where I’d like another peony to grow. Since you’re not getting blooms I certainly would follow all the other recommendations in this wonderful video too. Consider location, fertilizer, soil and water. If the plant is large enough and healthy you can afford to experiment, perhaps dividing In thirds. Then you can can try different locations etc. I think that makes gardening extra fun. Just write down in a journal the changes you’re working on. Be patient you may not see blooms for 3 years or so. Any blooms sooner are a blessing. I would focus on strong, healthy tubers and plants.
This year 2023, my peonies suffered two hard freezes and then straight into 90 degrees for two weeks. They barely lasted two days when cut for arrangements. The first blooms were black tipped. Lots of buds never opened. The last ones fried on the stem. Sad year for my grandmother’s peonies.
For many years I have wanted to grow peony. On Mothers Day last year I received such a surprize, my own tuber! A few weeks later I purchased Russian Sage, because of the name & blue flowers. Planted it near my Peony ☺, and my happy hens have a new job in helping my flowers stay healthy.

My mother loved Peonies, so every year I planted 1or 2 new varieties. I now have 27 different varieties, singles and doubles. I give them a bit of fertilizer every 3 years. My stocks are thick and sturdy, I don't have to always stake them up although they last better if I do.
My peonies were passed along to me. I need to move some because things around them have grown and shaded them. One peonies was a gift ND it's gifting me with loads of blooms. All will get a gift of well rotten manure this fall. Thank you for inspiring me to think more about companions.

@@carlandrews5810 It is a little nursery not too far from Quanapog RD. called Avant Gardens. I got the plant many years ago. We love it it is a prolific bloomer.
Another gorgeous bouquet is simply 2 or 3 different colors of peony. To avoid ants in the house just leave your vase outside for an hour or two. Learned that from my father who learned that from his mother back in the 1880's. Works for us. Also I am in Minnesota and currently have 14 peonies in my garden, I add a couple each year. Have a yellow that is spectacular. I go for the cottage garden look and everything in my garden looks great with peonies.

Have always loved peonies, but have always been scared of trying them. But this has given me a shot in the arm. As far as flowers in the house....I love going for walks and often come back with roadside bouquets. They always make me smile with their simplicity. No need to raid the neighbors, I laughed with the audience. But I bet the neighbors would share the next time they divide theirs if you ask.🙂
Walmart usually sells some of the more common varieties, I think, for less than $10, so you could try your luck that way without risking too much money. I would advise buying them shortly after they arrive at the store vs. after they have been sitting on the shelf for several weeks. Then, if you're successful growing them, you should be able to be successful growing the more expensive varieties.

I'm a master gardener from OK. I always loved watching your TV show. Could always count on learning a lot. Thank you As usual I learned lots of tips. My husband and I transplanted peonies from his parents home in Davenport NB. Pretty sure the original tubers were at least 60 years old then and now it has been 20 more years. Love them for all the memories. I also enjoyed the comment about the neighbors. I rescued a wonderful orange Iris from my neighbor's yard during a landscaping remodel of the yard. So glad I did. They are spectacular and would have disappeared had I not gone over and grabbed a couple of tubers. The new neighbor commented about them so she will get some back this fall.
cprDesignAssoc I was very fortunate to get a five gallon bucket of Iris tubers from an old garden this year for $70. I am excited to give them a new home and can hardly wait to see what colors I got. They are my absolute favorite flower.

My husband was at the end of our property working on the goat pastures and found tons of peonies! I hate to try and transplant when they are starting to bud but I have to or the goats will eat them. I just pray they make it..

Hi, read your post and thought I'd tell you, I transplanted mine from the front yard walk to the back yard. Well, they got MAD and wouldn't do squat....but I just ignored them, and after a year or so, they got over it. I guess they loved all the attention they got up in the front. LOL. NOW, they're blooming their little hearts out! Hahaha.
@@martyminer828 I just saw your reply! I'm glad to know that. Mine that I took from the field are all now popping up! I was so excited! I just saw on fb market that there is a new lady in our small village that have tons of them in her yard and wants them gone...I'm going over today to dig! Not sure of the kind but they are pink...
Mr. P Allen Smith, thank you for sharing this video, so informational and professional, also, I wasn’t expecting to laugh so hard, I hope my peonies will get more beautiful next year with all your advise, again, thank you kindly!

What a great video and wealth of information. My peonies get a white powder on them in the late summer and I cut them down at that time. How di ?I get rid of the mildew?
You have a great show. I learned a lot. Love that flash light and a pair of scissors. I grew up in Pacific islands that has tropical flowers that bloom all year. We celebrate Flores de Mayo which is offering flower to Mother Mary in church every day and yes we did that flash light and scissor technique. My late Mom love gardening. Our house full of bougain villa, orchids, ferns. I went back Mom gone but those orchids she planted in the trees still blooming. I was just the observer when she was gardening but I took her hobby with me. Great show.
That is why I try to teach my son gardening. He could enjoy his personal wonderful time, be along with himself. After I past, when he so somebody gardening, when he see those plants I left, he will recall those days with me.

I live in zone 8 my peonies are beautiful , it took me 3years before mine starting blooming. How did you get yours to bloom in one year after planting ?
I absolutely love peonies, I planted mine last year from tubers and did everything from a youtuber teachings but they are so slow to grow and did not produce flowers yet. I was wondering why... Thank you for your amazing lesson!!!
Sophia Huber; I see you asked 10 months ago. Today:4-19-23 thought this information would help you this year. You may have planted to deep. I fertilize this time of year (Spring) I use Espoma PLANT TONE it is organic and comes pelletized. (carried in most garden centers) I just sprinkle it around the peonies and scratch it into the soil just a couple inches. Then I do the second feeding the same way in mid summer.
Great presentation. I have a question. I have one peony plant that survived being moved to my home from my late mother's garden. 3 years now and it has never flowered but looks healthy otherwise. I think I probably planted it too deep as it gets enough sun. How can I fix this without killing the plant?
"That's why our friends in Minnesota can grow some amazing peonies...". I'm from MN and I didn't even realize that peonies preferred our winters lol! I know what I'm planting this year!!!

Allen is a genius when it comes to live sessions. Anyone who can should go to Moss Mountain. Even those in very different zones (l live in zone 10) will get helpful info.
While you walk away from our very best! Why not share some things you're also working, will love to have something valuable from you too. Information or flowers

Great video, I have several plants that when I first planted them, maybe a year or 2 later bloomed really great, lots of blooms and big flowers. Then a few years later they have gotten less and less blooms and some don't bloom at all. Am I watering them too much? I have given them an all around food and the foliage looks great but didn't produce more blooms. Any suggestions?

I've never heard your version of the name of Peonies! I have my grandmother's in my garden. She was from Bonham, Texas originally and met my grandfather and eloped with him, back to Georgia. She always called them PeOny, PeOnies or Piney woods Roses. I've heard several people in these mountains call them that. They have done very well here, and I've transplanted them or started new beds several times and they always come back robust and healthy. Different parts of the country, and I've traveled alot, but your're the first Ive heard pronounce it that way, then again, I am from the south and we do have our own meanings and language!! Your flowers are beautiful Peonies, China version!! Thank YOU for sharing information on my favorite flower!
@@Just-Nikki Hahaha! I'm trying to pronounce it like he does! Hard to break life-long habits and Southern dialect! Altho most people think I'm from Texas. Just spent a lot of time there.lol I love old time flowers and peeoniese or peeOniese are my favorites! I can say ol Piney woods roses and most oltimers know exactly what I'm talking about!

what?, I was born and raised in southern California, and I say Pee-YO-KNEES too! But I think its cause I'm a tad country (thanks to my Southern roots) 😂😁😂😁 and it feels better on my mouth to say it that way. I call pecans PEE-cans too.

Hi Allen! You mentioned planting peonies in their 'permanent place', but what if you have to move them? When is the best time? Here in GA, they go dormant before the fall and it's hard to find the tubers once they go dormant unless you figure a way to mark where they are, that something (either animal or human) won't move. Can I take a chance and move them in spring?
My husband and his late wife had them on the side of the house forever and they're mature I decided last year I wanted to move them we move them to the rear of the house and they are doing just fine so I don't know what he's talking about his first permanent home but I have moved three bushes to the rear my yard and they bloomed this year it didn't hurt the middle I didn't interrupt their blooming face or anything but we have mature plants

I wanted to order peonies for a bouquet in Chihuahua, Mexico which is a semidesert. Well they would charge 4000 pesos (about 200 usd) for 3 peonies. These flowers are so exotic and luscious, can't blame them for charging so much money given how much care peonies need and the zone they grow in.

You said if planted to deep the peonies may never bloom. My question is should I dig mine up and replant because I planted mine close to 3 inches in 2021, my first peonies

Hello Allen, Your video tour provides such inspiration, and seem to really enjoy the live talks with you. Last year I planted my first 2 peonies purchased from Gilbert Wilde’s & Sons. They are the most beautiful deep magenta color, I’m in love 😻. Would kindly, share the type of Weiglea you referenced in this video as a companion plant. It’s a glorious color. Thank you
I’m in Southern California and my local big box store was selling and I confused as to why but had to buy it. I’m desperately trying to see if it’ll survive and miraculously flower.

Enjoyed so much this program on Peonies.......learned a GREAT DEAL about them today...always thought they were so delicate, glad to know they are not so hard to keep going with just a watchful eye and a little TLC on demand...as with EVERYONE I am a lover of Peonies...and in the past had to rely on friends to give e some blooms each year for the house....THANKS for sharing your common sense knowledge

I read in your blog it is not good to cut peony flowers on a young peony, 1-2 years so they can store all their energy in the tubers! Would that be the same rule of thumb for a transplant of an old peony? Thanks

I have peonies here in my garden in Colorado Springs Colorado, and it's August and they are just now doing their marshmallow buds. I guess it's different here because it sounds like others are browning, they are at their peak for me 🌈

They are so great, our great grandmother planted them more than 40years before and they still automatically come every year, their beauty is so stunning, and they take care of themselves Tbh, I wonder how I can propagate them. Any tipps? Thanks for the video btw ♥️
Jahbless Angelina; Thought I would take the time to answer your question…. a year later 4-19-23 In the fall when they go dormant, dig it up, shake the dirt off the rhizome …cut rhizome so that each has 2-3 eyes. (You can see these little nibs on the rhizome ~those are the eyes. Replant with 2” of soil above rhizome. IF you plant it to deep it may not bloom. Happy gardening 👩🌾
The leafs on one of our peonies began curling early on. Now that the blooming season is long over and I'm clipping the seed pods off, is there anything else I should do so this plant will be in better shape in the spring?

I downsize from home to apartment balcony. I dugged a peony plant and planted it in a big pot. It grew this spring in the pot, it look very healthy which made me very happy the buds started to appear but I notice some very sticky substance around the buds. I tried to get rid of it carefully by taking quetips dip in water with dishwashing liquid. I notice it comes back after a couple of days. Mr. Smith I hope you can help.
Hi! The sticky substance is a normal part of the process. Many theorize it attracts the ants to eat the outer leaf “shell” which will help the buds bloom.
There used to be a peony grower near Champaign, IL maybe 25 years ago. I drove over to check it out when many of the peonies were in full bloom. It was awesome to see rows and rows of peonies, and quite a variety of blooms. Unfortunately, they relocated to Wisconsin shortly after that, so that was the end of getting to see a field of peonies in full bloom relatively close to home.

I have the Sarah Bernhart peony in my yard as a respect to my mother who has passed. I am surprised that this demo did not even mention any of the Itoh peony and having any of those. I have started 2 different ones and the reason being most flowers that I grow are for hummingbirds first. Many of the Itoh and some herbaceous peonies have the yellow centers which contain the pollen hummers are searching for and use. So I guess it depends what a persons reason is for the plants they want to grow, just stated mine.

Enjoyed your presentation. I love Peonies and have three very large pots of peonies. I live in Northern California and am wondering if our winters aren't getting cold enough for our peonies. I get beautiful foliage and sometimes if I'm lucky I will get one or two blooms. They have been in the same pots for several years. They get at least a half day of full sun. Could the problem be the pot? or is there particular fertilizer that would help promote blooming?

I live in Brooklyn, New York. This year l lost three trees on my property. This has opened up the possibility of planting my peonies in a more appropriate area with more Sunshine. Thank you for the valuable information you gave in the video. I always thought that I was supposed to plant them deep down. Now I know better.

My family did the same we even prorated them.from my great grandmother's so they are 3 generations old!
I got my peonies from my grandma too. I would guess they are close to 75 years old and still going.

Omg ❤ such a beautiful story 🥲
Hi Allen,
Better late then, never . My niece shared this little trick to keep squirrels , chipmunks , moles and etc. out of my large hydrangeas pots , or garden spaces and I found it b very effective .
Burying heavy duty plastic pinnic forks under the soil . They immediately retreat . Stopped burying their nuts , eating my roots , and destroying my plants ❗
Just remember when your digging around too .
I'm so filled with Inspiration and hope for my little
Cottage Garden with each video. I watch .🤔

Stephanie Murray wow!

I have my Great Great Grandmothers peonies. Its a burgundy double no name. It's been living in 5 generations of our gardens.
I have some of my grandmothers. My dad dug up a few for me from my home town in North Iowa and transplanted in Illinois. They will come with me when I move. Nice to hear there is a flower that actually does better in the north than south!
That's beautiful that you have that history
Montana D , I have some of my great grandmother’s peonies also! I have a light pink and alright pink with a white center.
Wow! That's fantastic!!
What a wonderful memory of grandmothers
My grandmother had the most beautiful peonies. I am older and Memorial Day was observed big time. We always cut the peonies and took them to the cemetery to honor the past.

Wow! Will love some of the old golden flowers from your angelica gardens. Old is gold
Peonies are one of my wife favorite flowers but they are hard to grow in Texas. They love cold weather and Texas was a is hot, hot state. So I buy them at a flower shop and make her happy to enjoy them for a while.
@@olgaburgos7780 you are a great husband
I live in Alaska and peonies love the front of my house and the front of my greenhouse. (that happens to be blue.) It is so wonderful when you find a plants happy spot and they just thrive. The fact they smell so good, peonies just give me warm fuzzies.
I'll be planting my first peonies this month and I'm super excited to have learned so much from this video! Thank you!
Your presentations never age! So much information! So grateful.
Hi friend good evening, how are you doing over there I'm sure you must be doing great and hope my little 'Hi' can put smile on your face😊
My Grandmother in Brooklyn NY used to raise roses that dated back to the mid 1920s. They had rounded blossoms with many pink petals that were highly fragrant and looked very much peonies.
I just love going to Moss Mountain farm and learning from Allen. UA-cam viewers should know that Allen painted all the pictures you see on the walls.

Wow!! He is so talented. I would just be in Heaven to have that much land. I have a very small yard so it is hard to have all the plants I would love.

I was going to ask about those pictures if anyone knew who the artist was. I think they are beautiful.
I am so glad we now have peonies in Southern California. Itoh!!!
I've split and separated all my varieties of peonies because they get so large. I was taught by my grandmother that you should dig up the tubers about every five years to clean them up and separate, then replant. They've always done beautifully. I don't bother to fertilize or do anything with the plants other than cut them down after frost in the fall.
Do you do that in fall ?
@luthers teaching Thank you so much for all the advice ,will do I want to take care of them because they came from my parents backyard 😘

Loved learning more about beautiful peonies, thank you for the very interesting, delightful video!
My mother loved Peonies, so every year I planted 1or 2 new varieties. I now have 27 different varieties, singles and doubles.
I give them a bit of fertilizer every 3 years. My stocks are thick and sturdy, I don't have to always stake them up although they last better if I do.
What are your favorites of those? Say, a top 5. Thanks!
My peonies were passed along to me. I need to move some because things around them have grown and shaded them. One peonies was a gift ND it's gifting me with loads of blooms. All will get a gift of well rotten manure this fall. Thank you for inspiring me to think more about companions.
I really enjoy this lengthy format, it really is a gift to a gardener. Thank you.

Shirley Senkler sounds beautiful. Some of my favorite memories are of my grandmothers cottage garden and I have peonies in her honor. Happy planting!
Why do they attract ants? I wanted to plant one near my house, but didn't because of ants
How do you test the ph of soil?
Thank you for telling me about leaving them outside for a while to get rid of the ants. I will try that.

The smoke tree in arrangements, love it!

Sophia Huber;
I see you asked 10 months ago. Today:4-19-23 thought this information would help you this year.
You may have planted to deep. I fertilize this time of year (Spring) I use Espoma PLANT TONE it is organic and comes pelletized. (carried in most garden centers)
I just sprinkle it around the peonies and scratch it into the soil just a couple inches.
MollyTsab - The Minnesota Peony Society is a great bunch of people, I highly recommend you to become a member!
I'm from Minnesota and my grandma loved her peonies but she pronounced it differently.

What can a person do if peony is not blooming due to planted too deep? Can pulling the soil away in spring help it bloom that year?
Peonies are fantastic aren't they! They smell so beautiful. It makes you wanna breathe deep.

I have peony tree seed sprouting. How long would it take for them to bloom
My original placement of my Peony is not good, it is not thriving, so it is getting moved. Hopefully today I can get to that.

Really enjoyed watching about the peonies, I grew them for 10 years in New Zealand, now living in Australia starting again
Instead of Dr. Phil, we have Dr. Philodendron
Yess! Haha 😂
Mine just bloomed today! Great tips.
Allen is a genius when it comes to live sessions. Anyone who can should go to Moss Mountain. Even those in very different zones (l live in zone 10) will get helpful info.
Plz enlighten more on this mountain & different zones
Love peonies but I wonder if you can tell me how to start /create new tubers?
I love all of your videos, they are very informative and I feel like I always walk away with valuable information.
While you walk away from our very best! Why not share some things you're also working, will love to have something valuable from you too. Information or flowers
But what about when to transplant. I know Sept is best but I have no choice but to move in Spring of those year.
I planted a new peony last spring. It has a yellow flower! So beautiful. Ty, for the great tips.

Thanks for such an informative video. I love Peonies so much. Such a lovely addition to any cutting garden or just for show in the yard!

Karen michele Osburn yep, I’m from Atlanta and I’m living in Missouri now and they say it like he does here.
InspiredByEbonyLove nothing wrong with being a little bit country 😉

Hello Allen,
Your video tour provides such inspiration, and seem to really enjoy the live talks with you.
Wonderful - I always get inspired from your videos! Hope you do more of these Lunch and Learn shows .

I read in your blog it is not good to cut peony flowers on a young peony, 1-2 years so they can store all their energy in the tubers! Would that be the same rule of thumb for a transplant of an old peony? Thanks

I live in SC and planted some a few years ago. They have not bloomed yet. Not sure if I planted to deep. How an I get the to flower?
I have peonies here in my garden in Colorado Springs Colorado, and it's August and they are just now doing their marshmallow buds. I guess it's different here because it sounds like others are browning, they are at their peak for me 🌈

Hi friend good evening, how are you doing over there I'm sure you must be doing great and hope my little 'Hi' can put smile on your face😊
Thank you for explaining this lovely flower. I have also peony I bought last year.
They are so great, our great grandmother planted them more than 40years before and they still automatically come every year, their beauty is so stunning, and they take care of themselves Tbh, I wonder how I can propagate them. Any tipps? Thanks for the video btw ♥️
Jahbless Angelina;
Thought I would take the time to answer your question…. a year later 4-19-23
In the fall when they go dormant, dig it up, shake the dirt off the rhizome …cut rhizome so that each has 2-3 eyes. (You can see these little nibs on the rhizome ~those are the eyes.
Replant with 2” of soil above rhizome. IF you plant it to deep it may not bloom.
Happy gardening 👩🌾
@@tinaknutsen thanks 😊
So mine aren’t blooming. What do I do if I have it planted to deep and now I have just tall foliage? Should I raise it and how do I do that?

I just loved this video. You are so funny. I look forward to planting my new peonies this fall.
I grew up with them in Maine. Ours were the merlot color. I wish I could get them to grow in Texas.

Thank you, you answered my question at the very end. I want to put roses next to my peonies. I didn't know about the rosette disease either.

I have peonies that have bloomed every year for 28 years and now all of a sudden they didn't bloom this year. I don't know why. They are in full sun. Do you have any suggestions?
Fantastic! Enjoyed every minute of it! Running out tomorrow to buy a bed of peonies! 🌸🌸🌸

I live in Brooklyn, New York. This year l lost three trees on my property. This has opened up the possibility of planting my peonies in a more appropriate area with more Sunshine. Thank you for the valuable information you gave in the video. I always thought that I was supposed to plant them deep down. Now I know better.
home run yet again Mr. Smith.
