    I'm honestly going for the slow setting monomer because of it's low odor. The faster setting monomer makes my heart race and then I can't sleep. fyi I do my nails at night after I have done everything w the kids/house. I also don't like how long the strong odor lingers in the house.

    Is it possible to mix equal parts of both monomers to make a medium dry time? Just curious!

      Great question, but I don’t think you can do that because they will be caring at very different times and probably competing with each other

    I love Katie! I wish I had slow set, whenever I do my nails they all look like Frankenstein nails! Lmao cause every bead sets I keep adding and adding and adding, then I have to file them all down, luckily I’m pretty good with the file lol it’s the only thing that saves me

    • @NailCareerEducation

      And that’s ok. It’s happening because the product is clearing up on you before you get a chance to put it where you want. Slow Cure would change that for you.

    Katie got on my favorite color green 🌟💯‼️🎉📽️🥰🍷🙋🏻‍♀️. Thank you for making it fun always Susie I hope that you will start doing some early Thanksgiving and December designs other than the standard Mrs Claus and Santa Claus and peppermint candies I would love to see something different with using polish and acrylic paints. I still got to get used to just the gel polish🤦🏻‍♀️. Personally I really enjoy fast setting acrylic from Young's nails. Some of my favorite Mia secrets I like that brand as well 👌🏼🔥👻🎉🎃🧛🏻‍♀️📺📽️💯‼️ really not into it I know how to do it as a licensed Manicurist. 🥰💯‼️😇

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  Рік тому +2

      Not enough to notice - it is noticed however if it’s reversed. If my product is cold and clients hands are cold acrylic may cute incorrectly causing it to be brittle and it will crumble as you file it

    Question: Does the fast setting versus slow setting have any influence upon adhesion to the natural nail?

    • @inspiration10ongles
      @inspiration10ongles Рік тому +3

      There shouldn't be, the adhesion should stay the same. It also depends on how good your prep is :)

    • @Mir_Nohti
      @Mir_Nohti Рік тому +3

      @@inspiration10ongles I wasn't sure since even YoungNails (recently again) indicated that wetter beads are most efficient for adhesion when they are first put down, especially good for fills for fluid consistency, so I wasn't sure if the curing time also would influence adhesion. I'm a hard gel girl now, but still use acrylic for flowers and adhering things or for serious repairs/reinforcements on my own nails. Thank you for answering my question though! I appreciate it. 💕

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  Рік тому +4

    I just bought some acrylic supplies from the NCE store. I bought the fast cure monomer because i like to dive off the deep end even though I have no previous experience. But I have been using a gel system that I really love, but I am afraid of the cumulative UV effects so I am thinking of switching to acrylics. Anyway, is it okay to backfill my nails with acrylic, or do I need to soak all the gel off first?

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  Рік тому +2

      Yes, no problem applying Acrylic over top of Gel- I do it all the time. I do suggest you practice beads and building nails in fake fingers first - even if you have experience with nails. Acrylic cures before you shape it.
      And do you know UV Lamps do not cause cancer or any I’ll effects from using them - FDA has proven that with the many years they’ve done

      @@NailCareerEducation Thank you for the info! I'm excited to get started! I will practice with refining my L+P ratio and making beads on a piece of paper towel first, but then I will probably practice right on myself (just one nail for now though) because as I said, I like to dive off the deep end. As for nail lamps, I believe they are not harmful if used normally, but I currently backfill my gel nails every week (I can't stand the outgrowth, I have all the supplies to do it myself at home, and I've become quite proficient at it), which is more often than normal, and I also do nail art multiple times a week with gel, and all that flash curing and full curing is definitely a lot more exposure than normal! I just want to be cautious. Also, acrylics may be more convenient because I don't have to pull out a lamp every time.

    I’ve read the slow set monomer yellows. Are there any testing on yellowing that you’ve done?

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  Рік тому

      Any monomer can yellow. The issue is the ratio. If you use the same ratio with slow curing monomer as you would a regular or fasting monomer then the slow curing monomer will yellow cause the ratio is VERY wrong.
      If you use the correct ratio it won’t yellow

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  8 місяців тому

      Remember you must work with it very different
      1. Way LESS monomer than traditional
      2. Wait when you apply bead to nail
      3. Sculpt with very dry brush
      4. Take yr time upto 2-3 mins
      5. 5-10 secs under water to cure
      OR file off sticky dispersion layer
      6. Sculpt as normal

    I got my order today and man, it did not go well. I was getting the hang of moisture to powder ratio with Mia Secret powder + Kiara sky monomer but I really wanted to try this as soon as it arrived. I got the mini set and 2 brushes; my bead wouldn't stick to the brush half the time and the ones I did get picked up were so small, I was getting frustrated and feeling wasteful so I had to give up for now. My brush doesn't have a nice point anymore either, the tip stayed feathery/separated. 😮‍💨😕 **

    • @NailCareerEducation
      @NailCareerEducation  Рік тому

      It really depends on what brush you have! If you have the student brush it absorbs much less monomer- email me at hello@nailcareer.com give me your order number and I can see what brushes you ordered
