THANK YOU SUSIE!! So tired of seeing size 20 brushes and tech’s slapping monomer all over clients skin. Ugh!
oh man when she pulled out that huge brush🤣😂
😂😂😂I know right
I love watching you before bedtime. You have such a soothing manner Susie and I am still enjoying everything you do. 😊
I’m just getting into doing my nails and I am loving your videos!! They’re so informative, engaging and full of ideas that I’ve never seen and can’t wait to try!!!
Yay, Katie is back. I love all of your videos, but you are an absolute dream team!!
Wow I'm on my journey of learning acrylic...I was watching videos all night for beginners (even some of your videos)...I was wondering about brush size...and then you put this video out. Thank you! This was VERY helpful!
It makes sense that smaller brushes are better, but it begs the question... what in the world are those huge brushes even for?!
Back in the day, when I was in nail school, our kits were outfitted with tiny brushes, I can’t even guess at the size but they were small. After going into a salon, the girls I worked with further trained me with a 9 and it was like the sky had opened up and I’d seen God. 😂 Finding tools that work for your personal style and skill level is just…chef’s kiss.
"It's so pretty though." LMAO 🤣 you two!!
I love you two together! I find you to be adorable and immensely helpful, charming and fun 🥰💖
I appreciate you soooo much! I have learned so much more on your videos than any other. Why? Because you explain everything so thoroughly! I had seen other videos where they stated they clean their brush in acetone, BUT they never explained why it is okay to do so and what the brush must be made of. You are the greatest teacher!
Suzie love your teaching style
There's so much chemistry involved with nail products. I love it!
Love watching u two together, too cute!!
I love this channel. Thank you Suzie for your honest and informative content. Also ( side note), thanks, I have now discovered the lovely Katie.
You two together are phenomenal 😂 thank you for all of your help. This is better than any beauty school
I love watching these two together. Susie should let Katie "take over" one of her shows as Katie pretends she is Suzie and Suzie is a guest on her own show, if you know what I mean. That would be fun to watch.
I am so glad I saw this today, I have a brush that was gooped up. Thank you!!! I love your channel. You have taught me so much and gave my the confidence to fix my split nail.
Lol! You guys are sooo adorable🤣🤣🤣🤣And, I absolutely adore your Kitty.😍
I had my nails done at a "salon" for the first time and I thought the brush he used was huge. I am prone to allergies and I did get dermatitis, but also could be because the drill bits he used were caked with product already. I chose a male tech because I assumed he would have a different passion for the art. Nah. It was a nightmare. He was not friendly and he treated me like i was dumb. We only have those in and out only profit matters salons around here. I wish we had passionate techs. I've been learning for a few years from these videos so I can do my own. I don't have the resources currently to become licensed, but my state requires the absolute bare minimum to do so. There is so much more to learn and these videos provide such valuable information they don't teach at all in these classrooms.
What state is that ?
@@shammmmm Pennsylvania.
@@shammmmm however, the techs were not natives to the country I just don't like stereotyping the Asian ran salons. They're not all the same. This one was though. But the state requires very little.
You should do a Thanksgiving style set of nails that would be so cool
I love this team! ❤
I like using size 12 and 14 for xl nails. If the person has small nail beds you can use more than one size brush like a 14 for the tip and a size 8 for the nail bed. Finish faster.
Bigger brush won’t make the full go faster if you don’t know how to make the nail first. Important to learn nails FIRST then you go faster but learning faster is not in a big brush,
Love that green blouse
I either use a size 16 or 18 because my nails are big 😔 I struggle to find tips that reach sidewall to sidewall
Susizes cohost reminds me of the mom from home alone
I love Katie! She reminds me of the really bubbly fun aunt from Sabrina the teenage witch!
I have a size 8 or 10 I think, but the problem I have with it is it’s really long and it makes it hard to use
I was advised by my nail tutor to cut down the handle of the brush if it’s too long, a particular problem for larger chested nail techs apparently 😀
@@carolinedawber3183 oh ok, I meant the bristles are way to long
Now that brush is just to giant to do nails or🤔😇💯‼️ but a fun concept I like that🥰🥇👌🏼🌟📺📽️ I hope you guys have a blessed weekend. thank you Susie for keeping it fun ✨🌟😇🍷
Love to watch you two lovely ladies🥰
I never knew monomer can condition the brush but it makes sense because have you ever tried to rinse monomer down a sink ? (Don't do it guys lol) but it's oily. Which is weird cuz it looks and feels watery lol
Interesting, I do not recall any instructor ever even touching on this subject. Oval 6, 8 or 10. I don't remember any instructor ever even discussing that the brushes do come in different sizes
I use a clothes pin or a binder clip to hold the brush :)
You get a brush holders for the brushes to hold your brushes standing straight in the holder.
Actually just in my hand
A $200 brush with goop!! Yikes😳
Great video. You are a great teacher.
How do you get dried goop out of a synthetic hair brush? If it’s stuck in there, is the brush ruined?
She mentioned using alcohol on synthetic brushes
@@aprendeconloscuatitos4183 Alcohol would not clean out dried goop.
You both are just so beautiful ❤
Susie can you please do a video on numbers 10 through 14 how they are with acrylic 🤔🥰🥇🙋🏻♀️💯‼️. We understand about number 8 and if you can find number six that's one thing but what about 10 through 14?? Have a blessed weekend thank you for being a wonderful teacher and motivator.
Love this tip.💜thank you so much
One bead bandits 🤣
Thanks for the great info. 💖💖💖🤗
Acrylic is beautiful to watch. I may try doing it in the future but i have some questions.
Can you reuse the monomer when only doing nail for yourself?
Is size 6 brush good for both thumb and pinky? My pinky is about 1/3 size of my thumb.
Can you use compact base gel under acrylic instead of bond/primer? The one that does not need primer.
Thank you for your help in advance :)
that's all I see at these, how do I say it "commercial" places, they have the biggest brushes and they just plop the massive bead at the cuticle and let it flow to the end of the tip then just scoop the rest off and don't care about an apex or anything. I have been to probably around 20-30 different places in 3 different states and it is always the same. i have been looking for a long time trying to find anyone that does good nails, even the people that are in a smaller kind of self maned booth places still don't seem to care about apex or when going in to fill fixing the cracked areas( I always have the sides crack) and a lot of the time don't bother to take the lifted parts out. I've gotten greenies 3 times now because of it. i have given up hope on finding a good place that really cares about making good long-lasting nails. trying to learn to put them on myself. i really need to have them on because I have a really really bad nervous tick to bite my nails down do far that they bleed and hard acrilics is the only thing that stops it(I still bite them a little but somehow just the hardness of the nail stops me from reeeaaally biting them
Thank you, for another wonderful video. I have a question more so in nail dusting brushes then nail sculpting brushes if that's alright. How would one clean and disinfect their soft dusting nail brush?
Great question... im wondering the same thing. I've been told to spray it with 70% to 90% alcohol. Not sure if that really works or damages the brush tho.
Thank you! thank you! thank you ! ❤️
I have a size 14 brush and it works fine for me . I won’t go no bigger than that tho
I'm happy with size 8 and 10.
Which way do you point the brush after cleaning it? Brush side down or up?
Down, or flat to reduce liquid running in to the body of the brush. Not with bristles upwards.
Is a pinched oval brush or a flat brush better? 🙏💕
Either way is fine - I like pinched cause that gives a clear side if you want it- comes in handy when creating
I was wondering i had heard that to keep your brush nice after using it that you could put cuticle oil on it is that true or false? I don't want to do that if it's bs.
Actually sweetie, I wouldn’t do that. I have heard of that only once in the 35 years and yes you could do it. It would condition your brush, but then you’d probably have to use acetone to strip it completely out because any oil will conflict with the monomer. So if you’re going to use acetone I would condition with monomer. It works extremely well. I wouldn’t take a chance with oil.
Thank you now I know what to do
Suzie - I've only managed to find one brand who makes a synthetic brush for acrylic application, and that's Glitter Planet here in the UK.
I'd really love to be able to use a synthetic brush as a cruelty free option - Would it be possible to use any type of synthetic paintbrush to do this?
I'd love to see your thoughts on the Glitter Planet brushes! They do their Pure Brush in a size 8 and 10!
Yes you can use brushes made for paint - in fact before the explosion of ‘nail’ companies, I use to buy my brushes from art stores all the time
@@NailCareerEducation I hadn't thought of this! Thanks so much
I'm nail tech for over 35 yrs n I think I have contact dermatitis now, what can I do to get rid of it? I'm leaving my nails off for a month. I can't get into my dermatologist for 4 to 6 months n no way can I go that long without nails. Any advice I would so appreciate. Will I have this forever now cuz people keep saying I will. I'm very upset about it. How do u get it? Is it from to much liquid?
Honestly sweetie, it could be from literally anything that you’re using. And keep in mind we are assuming it’s the products. It also could be from other things. But if you think it’s from the products, the best thing to do is eliminate all products and it will clear up if it is the products. Then slowly you can introduce certain products maybe just try one finger and see what it does. The goal is to find out what ingredient it is that you are allergic to. Because it might not be in gel, and it might not be in acrylic, and it might not be in polish, and it might be an all of the above. And if you’re a nail technician glove up.
@@NailCareerEducation thank you. I have it mainly on my one thumb n on my right hand the middle and ring finger other than that I don't have it on any other fingers. I've been using lotion because those fingers are so dry and sometimes they crack. I just hope it's not some kind of a fungus.
Probably not. Most likely contact dermatitis.
@@NailCareerEducation do u know what I can do to get rid of it?
@@THENAILDIVA2015 nothing. Once you have contact dermatitis you have it for life. If you keep using whatever caused it, it will get worse and worse
Am I wrong to use brush cleaner after doing my nails?
No, some brush cleaners can be very effective. I always found it was just better with acetone. Just make sure you don’t leave any residue of brush cleaner in your brush because it can also turn your products yellow if you do.
Is modelone brand a good brand to start with for acrylic medium?
I love the blonde and brunette energy in this video
i wish you had picked up a massive bead just to see how much product that brush would slap on the nail XD
You could also used makeup brushes too from the dollar store
Lol
I loved her big brush 😉😅😅🥰🥰🥰
You have a black Michi 😊 like me 😍😍😍😍😍
Ugh my teacher used to tell me I HAD to do it in one bead. Two MAX.
Nope- bad info
What if it's a kolskey bristles brush
My brush a 22 dat mtfka big asf
Is Katie Short for "Catherine (O'Hara)"?
A
in which year did they use that big brushes 😂😂
Hi guys…I tried to contact you but email and website but nothing is working….I want to place a big order for Christmas gifts and I was asking for a discount????? No one wants to respond to me??? What is going on
I can't remember if it's Aunt Zelda of Hilda but is that you?
😀
#notificationsquad is here 💜💖💜
You really cannot provide proper nail structure with the one bead method.. the nails tend to be more flat.
You can BUT only for the very experienced
Not tryna be a Debby downer but this irritated me in certain parts lol .. if you are a beginner yeah big brushes aren’t for you . But if you have experience with controlling your product and are constantly doing longer nails , a bigger brush is very much necessary.. or your client will be sitting there for more than 6 hours
Music is so annoying!!!
Spanish please
So which one is Laurel and which one is Hardey ?
Over this video.
😂 The amazing thing is, no one’s _making_ you watch it, Jane! 😂
@@rosey_ie you took the comment totally wrong . I loved this video . I like the back and forth
She being dramatic with the dry acrylic powder on the nail will cause LIFTING
Susie, I received your package today and it was damaged and I’m not sure who I’m supposed to get in touch with all your liquid had leaked out into the cellophane paper and it’s all sticky and no good. You put no nail papers in there. Nothing to get us started, no brush no little dish just the two bottles in and the jars for $72. You would think you would give us the forms the brush some instruction but you didn’t give us anything and I think that’s pretty lackadaisical on your part I felt it for $72. I should get forms which means I have to go out and buy forms and brush and the alcohol where the ugly duckling gives you all of that, so could you please tell me who I would return this to for a full refund since it’s damaged and unusable, I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Your comparing my mini kit of monomer and two ounces of powder $39.90 usd to Ugly Duckling started kit. A starter full kit can supply many different items. If you have breakage please email hello@nailcareer.com we will make it right. Just a suggestion if you want forms etc they are available seperate Forms /100 pack $9.90 and student brush $13.90. Mistakes happen in shipping we can’t control but we can make it right.
Hi suzie.
After following you for over 5yrs now (i think its 5?😅), ive finally went to nail school and got my nail certificate 🎉 im still learning but your video has teach me so much fine details i didn't learn in nail class/school. 😊
I really want A video on how to organize my salon table, what i need and how to start gain clients. ❤ please.....🥹
Could you talk about gel allergies and how to go about treat them/prevent them as well, does that mean that gel is not option if you had a bad experience with one? On my toe it was like white and streaky and ive only done gel once or twice, experienced it when i used IBD and beetles builder gel on top of each other (i was attempting fixing a broken corner)🫠🥹
