Fjällräven (Arctic fox in Swedish) is a firm started in Örnsköldsvik, Västernorrland, Sweden by a schoolmate to my mother. Totally agree. Gear matters! Just picked up a Fjallraven shell and will likely invest in the pants at some point. *to clarify: "invest" is just meant in the sense of everything you spend money on is an investment, to a degree. I am probably just going to keep hiking in slacks however. They work well enough. Still happy with my jacket.
the term "invest" doesn't make a lot of sense when talking buying a clothing item.....or how much financial performance you are typically making by reselling this thing?

Just FYI, you can take them to a Fjallraven store and have length added on. A friend of mine has a super tall inseam and they added 4 inches for around $70 I beleive.
I have pairs of Kebs, Viddas, and Abiskos. They are the best pants I’ve owned, and I can wear them for hiking and they double as nursing scrub bottoms for work.
I love my keb pants. I got them on sale and while they're still super expensive I think it's worthwhile considering they're my only hiking pants. I run hot so the vents are absolute magic
@@Hitithardify REI had them for $84 at one point... then they took them off sale and put it back on at $165... however, none of the sizes were available despite being shown at available. I love black Friday :)
Are they good in 30°C+ (86°F+) weather? I’m looking to buy just one pair of hiking pants but the coolest temp I’ll be hiking in will be no less than 20°C.
Nice! Im a local bushwacker specialising in backpackers and women and have been searching for the perfect pair of pants to bring with me on n my hunts. Really saved the day!
I personally fell in love with italian army overpants. Made of gore tex, has optional slings, easy to put one or multiple wool underlayers in the winter. Since all I do is go through brambles, bushes and complicated terrain they've been a lifesaver, they dont get stuck on anything and they're a lot more practical than my old pair of forest pants. Would really recommend if you need really tough and durable pants.
I wear these pants. Love them. Have a pair that survived my Search & Rescue days - they’re now almost 10 years now. The biggest advantage for me is honestly the crotch and how it’s sewed and the type of fabric that’s used to prevent splitting when kneeling. 🤘🏽
I wish these fit me, I’m 5’10” and the waist has 3 inches of extra fabric and I can barely get my thighs into the legs. I wish they made a curvy high rise version.
Same here. From Mammut to Mountain Equipment, they all make excellent pants for hiking and climbing in Europe mountain terrain. And of course Fjällräven with their bread and butter Barents (Pro) pants. But bought my first Keb in summer last year and since then never changed back. They feel so comfortable you don‘t notice you‘re wearing them. Used them also for several times for indoor climbing with no problems in movement. And even during hot summer days they won‘t give you this sweaty feeling all the other synthetic fibre pants do. Leg pockets are postioned perfectly and ventilation zippers make them a little bit more versatile during July and August (which aren‘t the ideal month for the Keb honestly - but they will do it if you are looking for a „one for everything pant“).
As a scout, I've had my scout friends tell me their stories about the scout uniform pants ripping when they go scrambling in Joshua tree, so pants like these (durable, reliable) seem like a good alternative for an active scout like me.

I think they're excellent 3 season pants, fall, winter, and spring. Other than the lack lustre quality I much prefer the kuhl revolvr during the summer months, and I live north of the 60th parallel. I first bought the kebs during a heat wave (or what I call a heat wave, which was plus 22°C, I've experienced much hotter weather, but I am far more of a cold weather person) & I had never wanted to throw a part of pants in the garbage so fast. I came to like them as the temperatures dropped though.
There are few outdoor brands that i recommend people, but fjallraven, bergans and norrøna are always good. I only use norrøna personaly and just bought a new shell set. Their clothing comes with 7 years warranty and they will repair for life……..
I have the Keb Jacket and I love it. Time to get the pants to. There is also a hunting version of the Keb called Lappland hybrid. They have little bit heavier fabric for little colder weather during fall hunting season and to better handle scratches from branches and so.
If you’re on the fence for these pants, just do it. I have 3 pairs and haven’t worn another pant in 3 months. They are by far the most comfortable and useful pants in my wardrobe.
Didn't really get the hype with Fjallraven stuff because the lifestyle stuff seems to be too much of the focus these days, but I got a lucky find with some of their trousers in a charity shop and I totally get it. Such quality fabric, expensive but at no compromise at all.

I have several pairs of different Fjällräven pants incl. Keb. Here in Sweden they are very expensive and in my experience the durability does'nt always match the price point. After heavy use some models like Vidda and Barents still hold up ok, but my Kebs are deteriorating more quickly. The zip-off version is 2999SEK = 290 $US. So for a while back I now pay a third or a fourth of that price for pants from other brands in nearly the same quality.
I have a pair of keb's, a vidda pro vented, and 2 vidda pro. The keb are amazing for trail hiking and such but the second you step into burs or beggars lice they are a nightmare. The stretch material is like a magnet and nearly impossible to get them out and the kebs are about 50% that material. I do a lot of hunting and the vidda pro varieties are a lot better in that scenario as there is hardly any of the stretch material...bet yes the keb are an amazing trail pants.
