Thanks for sharing these! I bought a few of these for my teenage son to hike Cloud peak in Wyoming, about 13,200 ft. They were light weight, worked great, and were comfortable enough to sleep in! He loved them and he now wears them everyday to school!!
That's awesome! I seriously love these pants! They are still my favorites of all the pairs I own. HOWEVER, I did just pick up a pair of Orvis brand from Costco for about $18. I have to say, they are COMFY! Actually wearing them right now. 😆 I don't know that I prefer one over the other. Both are excellent! Thanks for watching!
I got tired of waiting for Walmart or Target to have my size, so I ordered them directly from Wrangler. It was only $3 more and if you get two, the shipping is free. They fit great and I will be asking my personal seamstress to add elastic embedded in the cuff. They seem to be a bit long, so this will shorten them up nicely to avoid snags while walking.
Ya, Walmart seems to be having a tough time with that lately! Good call ordering them directly from Wrangler! $3 more isn't bad at all--still less than $30 overall! Ya, elastic in the cuff is one of the only things missing. No skilled seamstresses at my house, but someone else mentioned that they were able to cut a hole in the cuff, put some shock cord in, and then glue the cut so it doesn't fray. I may try my hand at that because it would make these pants perfect! Thanks for watching! And for the tip on ordering directly from Wrangler!
I had bought a pair of these a couple years ago while in walmart just on a whim, after the first time wearing them, I went back and bought two more pair, and just added a couple more pair this year, not because they wore out, but because I LOVE these pants. I wear them EVERY DAY. I wear them instead of blue jeans because they are SO comfortable. Also added a fleece lined pair that are great.
THEY HAVE FLEECE LINED?! I've got to order some of those! And you and I are on the same page! These are the most comfortable pants I own. I have literally worn them to my office job, to church, to sleep in (while backpacking, working in the hard, just around the house, and even just having a lazy day at the house. And they're only $23! Thanks for watching, Jeff!
I Googled "best hiking pants for the money" and one of the search results mentioned these pants or a iteration of them anyways. I bought 2 pair from Walmart and have never looked back. Mine are not baggy though so they may have changed the design a bit in the last few years as brands tend to do. They are basically fitted except for the leg opening which is a little big in my opinion, but I'm not complaining. They have enough stretch to wear with layers underneath and light enough to wear in hot weather. I wear them at work too where I have to look somewhat presentable. They are almost a dress pant so you can sort of dress them up if you need to. I've even used them as pajama pants they are that comfortable which makes them great for camping because you can literally sleep in them. Probably the most versatile pants I've ever owned. I probably wouldn't wear them on a concrete job or somwhere that requires VERY durable clothing, but they are quite durable outside of missions or jobs that require particularly durable materials. Just buy them.
I wear those same pants all of the time, but gray. I absolutely love them. I have the fleece lined ones as well and use them 3 out of the 4 seasons. Great review.
Bought my first pair of these and I can honestly say I’ve never had a more comfortable pair of pants! They’re lightweight but warm and super flexible! Awesome suggestion! Just waiting for Walmart to get them in stock again so I can order more.
That's awesome you got some! Ya, they are seriously so comfortable! They are my favorite pants to wear just around the house as well. 😆 Sometimes you can get them directly from wrangler easier than Walmart. A few dollars more, but worth it if you can get them!
@@DoseofDirt heck ya!! I’m working in these things as we speak! Thanks! I’ll check out wrangler directly. You’ve seriously made my life so much easier 🤙🏽
the fact that you have construction coworkers recommending these definitely speaks to the durability! Mine are still going strong! They are the pants I'm taking on a 100 miler I'm leaving on later this week! Thanks for watching!
Yep, I have several pair that I use for mining, construction, and anything I am gonna beat the hell out of. They last forever and i love having the zip cargo pockets on both sides.
Couldn't agree more! This pair is still going over a year later! I just used them on a 100 mile through hike and wore them basically the entire way. Not a single rip, hole, or snag and they are INCREDIBLY comfortable!
I discovered similar ones (without cargo pockets, but with bungee ankle cuffs) at Target and couldn’t agree more. They’re fantastic. I did look for more and got a couple different variations because they didn’t have the same model, and hate them. Same size as original but baggie bottoms, too long, waste too big, etc. So not all models fit the the same.
I'll have to check out the target version! Tick season is coming in Virginia and I'd really like the bungee cuffs so they're easier to stuff in the socks! Thanks for the tip!
Wrangler synthetic pants are good quality but with one con: They are always about 1.5-2 inches too long than other outdoor type pants. Only a problem if you are like me with a 30 in inseam. I have to get them hemmed. 32 in inseam and up order an inseam smaller than your normal and you're good. My $0.02.
I hadn't thought about it, but I think you are right. These do seem a bit longer than my other pants with the same inseam. Maybe it's because the crotch is so long on them? I don't know. But you're right that they do come a bit long (which can be annoying when you're hiking since they will catch dirt/mud/etc.). Thanks for watching!
I've heard about those before from other youtubers and looked at them in the stores. Target also carries them for slightly more. I haven't picked them up as they felt a little heavy. Instead I picked up two pairs of hiking pants on the cheap on clearance. One pair was from a local Columbia outlet store (just over $20) and the other was a Swiss Alps brand from local sports outlet store (Sierra) for $12. The only downfall was since they were on clearance not a big choice on leg length (I have short legs) so I had a family member hem them.
Way to hit the bargains! I say if you can get brand name for bargain price that is a no brainer! I have a Sierra near me so might have to go look a little harder! $12 is an absolute steal!! Thanks for watching!
🎯🎯🎯 You nailed it! Ya, I will get basically every color they have eventually. 🤣 Wear them hiking, backpacking, to work, church--basically everywhere. 😆 Thanks for watching!
I bought 2 pair online after watching this video. I’ve had em for 4mths and literally not worn jeans since (frequent washings). They do not look too “technical” or outdoorsy, etc. per the washing instructions, wash em inside-out in cold water, and don’t dry w/ high heat. I usually air dry mine. Ordering more.
Love these! You can also find them at target. I usually can find my husband's length (34) there when I cannot find it at Walmart. These are nice and stretchy so my curvy figure can also fit in them with comfort! I'm new to hiking, so it's nice to see I'm making good choices according to an experienced hiker! 😅 I see you hiking with kids and dogs! This is our families goal! I look forward to watching more of your content! Thanks 😊
Thanks so much, Christine! Yes! We love family hikes with the kids and the dogs! Definitely an awesome way to spend time together as a family! If everyone is getting a little dirty and tired, then it was a good time! 😆 I'm going to have to check out Target! Walmart seems to usually be out of stock! Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the pants reference. Fyi regarding the wide leg opening at bottom problem, suggest you have the legs tapered by a tailor from the knee down to say 7.5” or 8” width at bottom. Paying for tailoring is always more acceptable when the cost of the clothing is cheap ;-).
I use the same pants. Love them. I put a draw cord on my cuffs like bdu’s (military pants ). Super easy to do. After you finish use hem seal where you make the incision. Keeps it from fraying. My son used super glue. Works well also
Daniel! This is a fantastic idea! Sometimes I don’t think outside the box enough! I am definitely going to do this! Thanks so much for watching and even more for taking the time to drop a helpful tip! Awesome!
I agree. I've 4 pairs of pants and 4 shorts for well over 4 years now. I just bought a pair of the new model and they're amazing. Not to mention that they're made in Kenya, not chine, so that's a win!
That is awesome! Ya, I bought them randomly at Walmart because I went there on the morning before leaving on that Kings Peak day hike to grab some snacks, hoping they might have something better than jeans. And they did! Ordering some more this week because, why not have 2-3 pair??? 🤣 Thanks for watching!
A few years back I bought a pair of :: deep breath :: wrangler authentics men's performance comfort flex waist cargo short. They are absolutely wonderful! Very stretchy and surprisingly durable! Normally on hikes I just wear gym shorts, but I wore these shorts once and they were fantastic! Being in California (especially the Bay Area) it's rare to ever need pants while hiking, even on the coldest morning you've warmed up enough after the first mile or two. I'm always afraid i'm gonna get too hot in pants...but these sound like they are the same as the shorts I love...and at $23 I'd be stupid NOT to try them
I didn’t even realize they had similar shorts! I am definitely going to have to buy some of those! Yup, for $23 they are a great thing to have! Thanks for watching man!!
I love these pants. I have had several pair for 5+ tears. I also like them for daily wear because of the comfort. I wore a pair last weekend on a snow backpacking trip with polypro long johns and a Tyvek layer.
Heck ya! they are perfect for everything! I also love them for daily wear! Honestly more comfortable than sweat pants even. I could never own a different pair of pants and be totally happy! 😂 Thanks for watching!
I found this video of yours because of another video I was looking at of yours on sleep pads. I wholeheartedly agree these pants are incredible. I found them by chance at my Walmart in Canada and for $35 CDN in 2022 they are a steal. I bought the olive colour ones first and can't say enough great things about them as you pointed out and then went back and got a pair of the sand coloured ones. I have used the olive coloured ones on lots of trips in the backcountry and have hundreds of KM on them through all sorts of terrain and weather and lots of washing cycles and they are incredible even if they were double the price. I need to see if they have any other colours but I plan to get a few more and finding 32 X 30 was no issue for me and I was surprised I found the 30 inseam to be honest. At 5'8" which is not crazy short, it seems most pants start at a 32 inseam so these ones fit perfect. I also wear them under my motorcycle pants and anyone who rides will tell you jeans are horrible to ride in under your protective pants since they have no give and are uncomfortable. These were great on the trails and on the bike.
YES! These pants are seriously the best for everything. I've worn them hiking, backpacking, trekking, canoeing, to work, to church, and even sleep in them on my backpacking trips. Seriously my go-to pant for everything! Thanks for watching!
Hot dang...I own a pair of these too! I'm on a roll today! I've been researching some budget outdoor pants and I'm realizing I already own the top 4 or 5 recommendations and 3 of them are wranglers outdoor pants. For 20 bucks they get really close to pranas and other 80 dollar hiking pants. For 20 bucks they're awesome. Way better than jeans
Hey Brian! You are right that they are WAY better than jeans! I seriously don't wear jeans anymore--just these pants! The new version is a bit different and a few dollars more, but they are still my go-tos! I also recently picked up the 'shorts' version of these pants and have to say that they might even be more comfortable than the pants! Thanks for watching!
It’s funny I was at Walmart yesterday getting things for my NC trip and I saw these in black but in the wrong spot and I couldn’t find where they went. They did look awesome!
Someone probably hid them there and was planning to come back for them! 😆 I've learned you can also order them on wrangler.com (though they are a few dollars more).
FYI: I just discovered the Wrangler ATG Convertible Trail Jogger that have some differences that would make up for your single dislike. They have both adjustable leg drawcord and a built in waste belt and are tapered. No size zip pockets but the top of the pockets are cut with more of a dip which I prefer to these. They do seem to run a bit long so I sized down one of length. I found mine at a Lee/Wranger outlet for $24.99. My new favorite hiking/dog walking/fishing, knock around pants.
Hey Mike! Dang, I bet construction really puts them through the ringer! 4 years is seriously impressive for a $23 pair of paints! Sounds like mine should be lasting for several more years at least! Thanks so much for watching!
Been wearing these for about 2 years now and love them. I agree with everything you said about them. My first pair is going into it's third hiking season this year and other than a little fraying they are still going strong.
They are fantastic! The only issue with my 2.5 year old ones at this point is that I have one little burn hold from an ash that I got on a recent backpacking trip. 😆 But at $23, I'm not concerned at all!
When you said $23 pants knew exactly which ones they were cuz I bought the same pair. Really comfortable but the back pocket stitching burst after my first good crouch. Ended up buying a pair of Lee pants on Amazon made out of the same material for about $30. Seems to be better quality so far for a few dollars more.
UPDATE AND REVIEW!!! These pants are amazing!!! They are the perfect light weight for hiking, yet extremely durable. We bought these last year (see comment below) and my son wore them for the hike and then he wore them ALL school year! No worn out knees, no holes, no rips or tears... in fact, they look basically brand new even after he's worn them atleast 100-150 times!!!! We're buying more this year for another huge hike (because he's grown). Thanks so much for this recommendation, we love these pants!
I've been wearing on sale hiking pants for most of a decade, but I bought them to play tennis. Sunscreening legs every day is a pain. I also hike/packed in them along the way. Time for a new pair! NOTE: you can add an elastic band on the cuff like we used to do when biking in the old days.
Thank you! You are right! One thing I love about wearing pants hiking now is I don't have to worry about my legs getting burnt or scratched or anything! Thanks for the tip on adding elastic to the cuff. Seems like it shouldn't be too tough, so I'll give it a shot. Thanks so much for watching!
Seriously! Not sure how they do it for $23 but I’m not complaining! Light, comfortable, and bomb-proof! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment! Truly appreciated!
I wish they had common versions...Wrangler has a winner with these pants...although can't find at Walmart I get them direct online at Wrangler different versions of the pants
I was trying to buy a pair of Wranglers, but they were sold out. However, they did have a pair of short/pant combo Marmots on Walmart's sight so I snatched those up for $28. I'll still keep an eye out for the Wranglers though.
So, one thing I have noticed, walmart is getting quality stuff. Some of their tents are worth it, as are their sleeping bags. Only caveat, a lot of the worth while stuff, is online only (ozark trail himont 1person tent, and 2 of their sleeping bags)
Hey Matthew! You're right! They are definitely getting better quality stuff. I have a few other items from Walmart, and most have been great! The online only thing is a little frustrating, but still worth it to save some money! Thanks for watching!
Just ordered 2 better safe than sorry. Love ur channel and reviews. Glad I choose to camp now learning so much last year. Budget important ur that guy . thanks for helping all us.
I picked up two pair today! $25. And yes they are for me, a woman. Walmart sales nothing like these for women, so I am super stoked to try them out because the 34x30 fit well and STRETCH. I am pretty good at altering my pant lengths ( because they also don’t sell petite is men’s) so I will be adding an elastic cinch. Also, I hate “trying” online just to see if they fit. Thanks Jeff.
Would you mind sharing what size women's pants you typically wear? I want to pick some of these up, but since all the Walmart dressing rooms are closed, I don't know what size to get.
Love your videos man. I appreciate the links. I live overseas so no Walmart here but have an American po box so it's nice to have that direct link to the product.
Thanks, Justin! Really appreciate that! Ya man, glad the link was helpful! They are a great buy for just $23! I tried to see if I could find them on Aldi.com for the UK but no luck! Nice you can get them through your American PO Box! Thanks for watching!
I picked up a few pairs of those about 5 years ago and used them a lot for all but the last couple years. They're now a bit too small but I can still squeeze into them if I need some long pants and don't have anything else thats clean at the moment and I'm busy doing laundry cause #dadlife. Actually in a pair right now coincidentally for that very reason...waistline isn't too happy but its not painful since theyre wider and have that bit of stretch thats currently maxed out. I hadn't seen them at any walmart for a few years either so I thought they were discontinued. Nice to hear they weren't though
I hear you on the dad life! 😆 When I picked mine up at Walmart on a whim (the morning I was leaving for a massive hike) they thankfully only had the size bigger than I usually get. Which means that 2 years later and after the holidays, they still fit reasonably well 😆 They have been harder to find in stores at Walmart, but you can sometimes find them in stock at Walmart.com or someone in the comments sent the link to where you can get them on Wrangler's website! They are a few dollars more, but usually in stock. They are awesome pants! Thanks for watching!
I have a pair of these and they are really good. I've worn them in the rain and they shed water really well. They are very comfortable. They are hard to find. Walmart seems to be out of them all the time.
ya, they are amazing, right?! But yes, they can be hard to find in stock. Someone else commented that they ordered them directly from Wrangler--paid a few dollars more but got them quickly! I may have to order a few pair myself! Thanks for watching!
@@DoseofDirt My wife got me a similar style pant from Eddie Bauer without consulting me first. They feel similar but they get hot after while when wearing them and don't seem to breath as much. They also don't have zipper pockets. They also were a lot more expensive. I wouldn't recommend them over the Wrangler version. Thanks for making the videos!
Those look a lot like the duluth flexpedition pants that I wear. I wear them not just for backpacking. I wear mine daily for work. I also wear the duluth dry on the fly flex pants and shorts. Have several pairs that have been being used for over 5 years of construction and still going good. At that rate I won't complain about the price.
Hey John! Glad to hear it! I think they've changed the style a bit, but some places still have this old style. The new style is still great! Thanks so much for watching!
I picked these up 2 years ago from walmart as well and these were a literal diamond in the rough find. The only issue with them I have like you said is the leg opening is way too wide for my liking. I wear 0 drop style shoes and I can't wear them with these as the pant leg doesn't stay above the shoe (I end up walking on the legs) and they also make me look like a midget cause of the shoes being smaller.
Hey Matt! Ya, I'm honestly a little shocked that my first pair of these are still hanging around. I have one tiny burn hole from some ash that landed on them, but that is the only thing. They are still super comfortable, almost no wear on the knees or butt, all zippers and pockets are still good. I'm really shocked at the quality for $23! I've been meaning to add some shock cord in the cuff because I think it would be easy, but just haven't gotten around to it. Love a solid budget find! Thanks for your comment!
I have Sitka apex pants for big game hunting and those wranglers work every bit as good and more comfortable. Seen them on another UA-camr’s channel he’s running them for elk hunting
For $23, it's probably worth giving them a go! Even if you only end up using them in situations where you'd rather not wear your expensive ones. But they are still the only hiking pants I own (just got a second pair since I was washing these twice a week... 🤣). If you give them a shot, let me know how you think they compare! Thanks for watching!
Forget the pants. That is a WICKED dinosaur shirt! I want to know where you got that! I scored lucky with some Baleaf pants on Amazon for $10 a pair, similar construction as those I think. They have stretch, waterproof on the outside, and if your legs get sweaty, the moisture will pass out. Plus, $10 (not anymore though :( must have been a sale). They also have an elastic drawstring on the ankles that can be adjusted, which came in handy on a river ford. For $23 though, I think you scored solid. Can't ask for more than that for the price... you might be getting too much actually. 😂 Comfy hiking pants are amazing. I sometimes look for excuses to get out for a few hours just so I can wear them and feel legit about it.
This comment made my night! 🤣 I think the dinosaur shirt came from old navy. 100% cotton, so not good for hiking. 😆😆😆 But one of my favorite t shirts and super comfortable! Sounds like you got a serious score at $10 for similar pants! Plus a drawstring on the ankles (the only think I wish these wranglers had!). Ya, I wear these probably more often then I should… office, church, family dinner. Basically anywhere I have to wear pants but don’t quite have to wear a suit! 🤣 thanks for watching man!
Thank you for the review. However, in my personal opinion, I did not like these pants at all. The material felt scratchy and the fit was not right. They just felt like cheap pants. I recently decided to spend more money on Kuhls radikl pants and, as of now, these are my go to pants for hiking/everyday wear. I do appreciate your review on the pants...just wanted to give my opinion since it was quite different from yours. Keep up the hiking!
Hey enrique! Thanks for your thoughts! If there's one thing I've learned, it's that different things work for different people. I will admit to being tempted by the Kuhls pants, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I got a new pair of these recently and I do think they have a bit of a 'break in' period and then get softer. Thanks for watching!
Ya, I realize I could have done that a lot better! You're not the first to mention it! Next time I talk about hiking pants (or any other clothing) I'll make sure to hold it up rather than all wadded up in my hand... 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Great video Jeff! Always amazing to find budget friendly finds at local stores! You may know this question is coming....what's the weight? Hahaha. And what size? I love my MHW Basin Trek pants but they're prob close to the 3x the price of these.
Hey! Yes, I'm all about those budget finds! For me (a slightly rounder self) I have the 36x30. I don't like them too long or the cuffs pick up more water and dust. For the weight, I"ll have to weight them tonight when I get home (honestly sitting in them at my office right now... 🤣). And we both know not to trust listed weights vs. actually weight yourself! 🤣 Thanks for watching!
Nice video but you didn’t specify what the pants are specifically called. Just a couple links to two different styles. All terrain and flex waist . You didn’t mention what these are called.
Sorry about that, they seem to keep going out of stock and in stock and I must have gotten the wrong link for one. These are called: MENS FLEX WAIST OUTDOOR CARGO PANT (pasted from the walmart website). Here's another link: www.wrangler.com/shop/mens-wrangler-flex-waist-outdoor-cargo-pant-NW780.html?dwvar_NW780_color=112344465
I have a few of these, I work lawn an snow an they are amazing in the summer not bad with a base layer but they don't block any wind when it gets cold, I got them for how quick they dry
I am surprised walmart has some good pants! I am using the Mammut Courmayeur SO pants and the Patagonia Quandary shorts. I am really satisfied with them so far!
Hey Christos! Ya, every once and a while you can find some quality gear for cheap at the big box stores. But I bet those Mammut and Patagonia pairs are awesome! Thanks for watching, man!
I wish they had the same fabric in a loose or relaxed fit. Straight legs are too narrow for my thighs. If I buy them big enough to fit my thighs, the waist is three or four inches too big.
Ya, dang. I just looked on wranglers website to see if they had other options but I don’t see anything. Also, I may need some tips from you for leg day! Beast!
@@DoseofDirt I checked before. The only loose or relaxed is mostly cotton. Lately, I've just been getting Academy house brand zip offs in and XL then cinching the belt as far as it'll go. They were under 30 bucks and work as well as name brand for me. The Wrangler fabric does look good.
Dude respectfully your just holding them all bunched up and can’t tell what they look like. Most reviews on clothing show them on a table or wearing them with a longer look at them. Sorry but I couldn’t tell how great they are the way you held them. I read all the comments and they were mostly ppl that already own them so they didn’t say show us the pants lol. Then they don’t have them at Walmart? So you leave another link to wrangler and those have a different name than what Walmart calls them. So very confusing as to which ones. If only I could have seen them laid out on a table and a review done showing all these features you spoke of. Just saying 😎
Hey Sarasota! This is a super helpful comment, and you are (obviously) exactly right. If I talk about hiking clothing in the future, I'm going to make sure I hold it up to clearly point out features I'm talking about or take some footage that shoes it clearly. Definitely a miss on my part! I sincerely appreciate your comment. I want to do this right! Unfortunately, in in looking around, it seems like they are super hard to find right now. I don't see this exact style on Wrangler's site right now. I'm going to update the comments in the links to be more helpful. I'm not usually a camo guy, but considering ordering them in Camo since that seems to be the only color Walmart has in my size right now: www.walmart.com/ip/Wrangler-Men-s-Outdoor-Comfort-Flex-Cargo-Pant/861727124 Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment!
Thanks Jeff, I will have to try some of these out. What is the weight? I have been rocking the Columbia Silver Ridge convertible pants, I like the versatility of zipping the legs off if it gets hot.
Ya, I should have mentioned that. Would be nice to have the zip off legs. But I find so far I haven't ever really needed to. I'll weigh them tonight when I get home (honestly sitting in them at my office right now... 🤣).
@@DoseofDirt in comparison my north face convertible hikking pants are 370 grams so not much different in weight and comfort but the northface pants I believe where 140 Canadian dollars vs 25 Canadian dollars.
Use duct tape to solve the tick problem. I’m a forester in eastern Virginia and we are inundated with ticks because of a high population of deer. Tape the bottom of your pant leggings to the top of your boot.
I own 2 pairs of these pants and love them. The first pair, I ripped the crotch out. Sewed em back up, and their still going strong. I just hope Wrangler keeps making them
Thanks, Calvin! I could not agree more! These are by far my favorite pants for everything! I should probably buy a few extras to just have, but like you said they seem to last forever! Thanks for watching!
These are the 'Wrangler Men's Outdoor Zip Cargo Pant'. The new version seems to be a little slimmer leg than the version I have in the video, but I don't think they are as slim as they look in the pictures. If they aren't quite what you're looking for, I also get an excellent pair from a brand called Orvis from Costco. They were $18. Just took them on a trip over the weekend and am actually wearing them right now. They are a bit of a wider leg, and they are awesome. Only one cargo pocket, but otherwise very similar.
Jeans are not comfortable in comparison to pants like those. I love those pants I've been using them for wet wade fly fishing for years. Funny they cost the same here in Canada. they have shorts versions of those pants aswell. That's all I have now lol like 15 pairs
You are right! I thought jeans were comfortable until I tried these on! Honestly been wearing them to work at the office as well because they are just so comfortable! 🤣 I am definitely going to look for the shorts version. Those are probably comfortable enough to wear as pajamas! 😆 Thanks for watching man!
@@DoseofDirt yeh I got two pairs of the shorts I uselly use the north face zip offs for hikking but I love those pants for daily activities and camping but they would definitely be awsome for hikking aswell
I don't know if these are the exact same version I bought 3 years ago but for cheap "technical" pants they work great. Some cons I've ran into over that time though is, now that they have been through several wash cycles the spandex tends to wear out much faster, they will fit at the start of a hike and be sagging 30 mins later. The other con is the stitching for the cargo pockets tend to fail pretty quick and I almost lost some keys because of it (I just resewed the pocket shut). Otherwise these are some bomb proof pants, I have a friend who has been caving in them for a few months and even though they feel thin they haven't ripped yet and caving is usually very tough on clothing.
If they can survive caving they can survive anything! 🤣 You are right that they seem pretty bomb proof! I wear mine for everything! Thanks for watching!
DANG! Ya, I seem to have a pretty standard size as well, because my size is often sold out. you can try the wrangler site as well. They seem to be in stock there more regularly!
Hey Alex! The pants are called "Wrangler Men's Outdoor Comfort Flex Cargo Pant" on Walmarts website. But I also found them on Wranglers' website. They are a little more ($29) but they have them in stock. Here's the link: www.wrangler.com/shop/mens-wrangler-flex-waist-outdoor-cargo-pant-NW780.html?dwvar_NW780_color=NW788FR
Unfortunately I don't see anything on wranglers website. They just have a more expensive pair (ATG). There is a similar pair for men (also called ATG) but I haven't tried them since they are double the price. This has been frustrating for me as well because my teenage daughter will often come hiking with me and I haven't been able to find a budget friendly pair for her. The search continues!
Hey Antonio. I wouldn't say they are very water resistant. A new pair will be sort of resistant to light rain, I think. But anything more than that and they will just end up wet (at least that's how my pair are).
Dang! I know the stock comes in and out, but has seemed to be more out lately. You can get a similar pair from wrangler.com. I have the link to it in a pinned comment (and the description I think). They are a little more at $29, but still a great deal! Hope you find something that works for you!
Now you have me wondering if I said that I do... I would like this more if they were just a little tapered to make them easier to tuck into socks during tick season. Thanks for watching!
Since most colors are out of stock at Link to Wrangler's website for a pair that are similar for $29. I can't find this exact style on Wrangler's website but these are close and similar in price: www.wrangler.com/shop/mens-wrangler-flex-waist-outdoor-cargo-pant-NW780.html?dwvar_NW780_color=NW788FR The style is slightly different (back pockets is the biggest change I've noticed) but other than that they seem the same.

Thanks, man! I didn't even know they had fleece lined ones! May have to check that out! Thanks for watching!
Yo, I tried these pants at Walmart after watching this and they are legit. Thanks so much for the heads up.
Dude! That’s so so awesome!! Honestly can’t believe they are only $23! Seriously appreciate you telling me! 👊🏻
It's been a year and I haven't found anything better yet. I've hiked hundreds of miles in these, planning on doing the PCT in them.
Sometimes you can get them directly from wrangler easier than Walmart. A few dollars more, but worth it if you can get them!
@@DoseofDirt heck ya!! I’m working in these things as we speak! Thanks! I’ll check out wrangler directly. You’ve seriously made my life so much easier 🤙🏽
Hard to find a good pair of affordable pants these days for hiking! Great info man!
You're right about that! $23 is a steal! Thanks for watching!
Yes, absolutely. The Wrangler comfort fit is amazing
You are absolutely right!!
Thanks for watching!
I work construction and just bought a couple of pair by recommendation from co workers who swear by them . Light , comfortable and durable
the fact that you have construction coworkers recommending these definitely speaks to the durability!
Thanks for the tip!
i've got these also, and they made an edition that were flannel lined. i don't have them, but an old buddy did when we did winter camping
Great video to save people money, Jeff! These pants are great. We both have them in multiple colors. No reason to spend more money on other options.
🎯🎯🎯 You nailed it! Ya, I will get basically every color they have eventually. 🤣 Wear them hiking, backpacking, to work, church--basically everywhere. 😆
Thanks for watching!
I see you hiking with kids and dogs!
I'm going to have to check out Target!
Not a bad option! Thanks for the tip!
Agree 1000%! I wear them all the time for casual pants as well.
Seriously! I honestly wear them to church sometimes. 🤣 they’re just so dang comfortable and then I’m ready for a hike anytime! 🤣
I just bought these yesterday! 😂 Was shocked walmart had some good pants! Half the price of my 5.11 tactical pants... can barely tell the dofference!
That is awesome! Ya, I bought them randomly at Walmart because I went there on the morning before leaving on that Kings Peak day hike to grab some snacks, hoping they might have something better than jeans. And they did! Ordering some more this week because, why not have 2-3 pair??? 🤣
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
@@DoseofDirt I have the shorts on right now!! Hahaha
@@brianfreland9065 🤣🤣 literally wore them most of the day Saturday and Sunday. They are perfect.
Agreed these pants out do the OR pants I've gotten....I get them. Online cause most Walmart do not have them...cheapest I've seen them is $38
Ya, they have definitely gone up in price the last few years!
Anything Gerry brand at Costco is ridiculously awesome for hiking clothes. I’ve been loving everything and it’s dirt cheap too pun intended
Costco for the win! Love that place!
I have been using these for 4 years doing construction and they are still going strong.
But at $23, I'm not concerned at all!
My go to hiking pants. You just can't destroy them no matter how hard you try.
Seriously! Not sure how they do it for $23 but I’m not complaining! Light, comfortable, and bomb-proof!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment! Truly appreciated!
@@DoseofDirt my pleasure. I stumbled across them in walmart a few years ago. Best bang for the buck.
Nice T-Rex T-Shirt, have the same one. Got from Old Navy, super soft
haha! I seriously love that shirt! You're right, it is SUPER soft! 😆
@@jennap1249 I wear a women’s 14.
These pants have out performed my $150 outdoor research pants and are far more comfortable and fit better
Love these pants. Such a crazy deal.
Seriously! I have a few pair and almost bought another last time I was at Walmart!
Which means that 2 years later and after the holidays, they still fit reasonably well 😆
They have been harder to find in stores at Walmart, but you can sometimes find them in stock at Walmart.com or someone in the comments sent the link to where you can get them on Wrangler's website!

I don't think I've seen the camo! Going to have to keep my eye out for a pair in camo!

Thank you the pants are great . I would have never found them without your video !!!!!
I’ve heard good things about Duluth. Glad they’re working out for you!

Thanks, Lance! Mine are still going strong but I picked up another pair because why not have to?! 😂
Love those baggy cargo shorts. You sure they are not better? I used to have some just like them. Could probably carry your tent in the pockets?
🤣🤣🤣 dang! Why didn’t I think of that?!?!
Yes they do last I use them in construction
Construction?! Man, that’s about the best endorsement you can give to a pair of pants! That is awesome!
I’ll have to give them a shot….but I’m skeptical it’s going to beat out my prana’s. Since I first wore them I swore I’d never go back.
I got the same thing for work, love 'em!
My favorite pants for basically anything!
I just went over to get a pair. They are 26.95 now.
Well i hope you hold them up so we can see if they are knee length or short or what?

@@wisenber glad you found something that will work!
I'm not usually a camo guy, but considering ordering them in Camo since that seems to be the only color Walmart has in my size right now: www.walmart.com/ip/Wrangler-Men-s-Outdoor-Comfort-Flex-Cargo-Pant/861727124
Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment!
@@DoseofDirt thanks for your reply.
Yep, like mine too
Cheap, comfortable, and durable! Mine are still going strong!
Thanks so much for watching!
389 grams for you Americans 13.6 ounces that's my size 34-34
Evan is right. I just weighed mine and they are 13.8 oz (390 grams). I wear a 36x30, so makes sense mine are just a little heavier.
@@DoseofDirt the ones I put on the scale are brand new never worn so could also be the extra weight
Thanks for the tip! I just moved to Virginia so ticks are definitely top of mind for the coming summer!
Exactly what kind of wranglers are these called? All the ones I see in Walmart fit tight not loose or baggy which I’m looking for.
Thanks for the feedback man! I will check them out.

Was that a CSULBcap on?
Купил себе такие. Но, конечно, жалко их использовать в походе. Я в нтх на работе хожу
Thanks for watching man!
All sold out in my sizes
DANG! Ya, I seem to have a pretty standard size as well, because my size is often sold out. you can try the wrangler site as well. They seem to be in stock there more regularly!
@@DoseofDirt will do. Appreciate it.
In 2 years those have doubled the price, now $46 a pair 😢
What’s the exact model name?
Hey Alex! The pants are called "Wrangler Men's Outdoor Comfort Flex Cargo Pant" on Walmarts website. But I also found them on Wranglers' website. They are a little more ($29) but they have them in stock. Here's the link: www.wrangler.com/shop/mens-wrangler-flex-waist-outdoor-cargo-pant-NW780.html?dwvar_NW780_color=NW788FR
@@DoseofDirt appreciate that. Picked those up and the ATG Trail joggers to compare.
Nice! I’ve been wondering about the ATGs! Would love to know what you think about them!
Is there a similar pair for females?
Unfortunately I don't see anything on wranglers website. They just have a more expensive pair (ATG). There is a similar pair for men (also called ATG) but I haven't tried them since they are double the price.
This has been frustrating for me as well because my teenage daughter will often come hiking with me and I haven't been able to find a budget friendly pair for her. The search continues!
@@DoseofDirt thank you for your reply. You’re really good with the research so I’ll stay turned.
@@stimconvo1195 Thank you! Truly appreciate that!
Anyone know how water resistant these are?
Hey Antonio. I wouldn't say they are very water resistant. A new pair will be sort of resistant to light rain, I think. But anything more than that and they will just end up wet (at least that's how my pair are).
All sold out on Wally com
Dang! I know the stock comes in and out, but has seemed to be more out lately. You can get a similar pair from wrangler.com. I have the link to it in a pinned comment (and the description I think). They are a little more at $29, but still a great deal!
Hope you find something that works for you!
i dont wear skinny jeans my guy
Now you have me wondering if I said that I do...
I would like this more if they were just a little tapered to make them easier to tuck into socks during tick season.
Thanks for watching!
My 34-34 are 389 grams or for you Americans 13.6 ounces on my cheap scale lol
Really wish my country would get on board with grams and meters! 😂
@@DoseofDirt funny thing about Canada we use a weird hybrid like in construction we measure is inches and feet we weigh our bodies in pounds. Lol
They sold out. 🤦
Since most colors are out of stock at Link to Wrangler's website for a pair that are similar for $29. I can't find this exact style on Wrangler's website but these are close and similar in price: www.wrangler.com/shop/mens-wrangler-flex-waist-outdoor-cargo-pant-NW780.html?dwvar_NW780_color=NW788FR
The style is slightly different (back pockets is the biggest change I've noticed) but other than that they seem the same.
