13:25 Jason couldn't have said it better. After I beat a song in Festival, I rarely ever find myself replaying it. I typically sightread FC every chart I play (I mainly play tap mode with the classic GH control scheme and rarely play pro guitar/bass). The only times I replay a song is when I noticed a significantly better overdrive activation path after playing the chart once and want to see my score jump up the leaderboards real quick. Best I've done is 5th place on one of the Jack Harlow songs the day pro lead came out I think? Regardless, Festival really gives me zero incentive to come back, especially with the scores constantly getting wiped after every season. Beating my high scores is one of the absolute most fun things for me about the Guiter Hero and Rock Band games (especially when the game keeps track of your top 3, 5, 10, etc. scores so you can really see how much you've improved). Just today I got the top score on a bunch of songs on my Guitar Hero 1 save file (which is nearly two decades old), and it felt so satisfying to do so. I feel like every time I come back to Guitar Hero 1, I always end up getting a few top scores on my save file, which shows me that I'm constantly getting better and better at the game. I gotta wonder how many of the scores on my save file are over a few years old since I've constantly been getting higher and higher scores. This is also why I prefer the PS2 ports of Rock Band 1 and 2 over the Xbox 360. Despite their other flaws (of which there are plenty), I absolutely love how the PS2 Rock Band games keep track of your top 12 scores for every single song. It's so unsatisfying playing a song on 360 just to not know where it ranks amonperfoother performances of the same song. Sometimes it's cool to just be like "oh I guess this is the 7th best score I've ever gotten on this song" or "yeah I finally beat that score I set in 2016"
Really glad Alec was able to keep a positive attitude throughout the episode despite the Festival drought we're in. I guess he was super excited about the GH6 prototype, and who could blame him? It's so sick to see this stuff come up with the early test venues and test songs like the Led/Tupac mashup.
Jake, you're a true hero in this community! Thank you so much for purchasing this prototype disc and sharing it with the world! I wish every community that I'm into had people as gracious as you.
The song at the end of the bonus rewards is giving me flashbacks to unlocking Darth Vader in Battlefront 2 at launch… something something pride and accomplishment…
army by ben folds five would be really funny if it was actually intended to be included, because it starts with the lyrics "well i thought about the army, dad said 'son, you're fucking high'"
57:03 after checking on google, both of Judy and Casey's outfits were from GH5 😭 But it's curious to see that WOR had the option to change the outfits while the final build had 1 outfit + warrior outfit 🤔
I also noticed that this new season *HEAVILY* increased the number of NPCs in the audience in Festival on Switch. Now it has the same number of audience members as the Xbox Series X. I have absolutely no idea how they managed to pull that one off, but I noticed that my framerate has tanked a few times randomly since the new season has started. It's only done it once or twice during the same song, but I hope that doesn't become the norm on Switch since it already doesn't hold the best framerate compared to other versions. The Switch version is ideal for festival tap mode when playing with the classic Dualshock 2 control scheme since the Switch pro controller doesn't have analog triggers like PS5 and Series X.
It was revealed in one of the GH podcast interviews that Van Halen was in development at the same time as WT. The game was done so early that the devs were given DLC duty for WT and helped with Smash Hits. The dev doesn't remember the game ever being called GH Stadium whatever though. It's always been GH Van Halen.
I’d like an episode all about the Touch Bar from the GH4-5 guitars. I’ve mostly used Rock Band guitars (I’m weird like that, i guess!) but recently got a World Tour guitar. I can’t for the life of me actually use the slider bar in actual sliding sections, but i love the tap wah sound. Do any pros actually use the tou h bar, or were no tears shed when the Warriors of Rock guitar dropped the feature?
random question but speaking of locked jam tracks, is there anyway to still obtain Beyond the Flame? that season i didn't play because the meta was just cars and i didn't enjoy it much so i stopped playing and had 0 knowledge of the track being a thing where you had to flawless on any instrument to obtain it so i missed out on it. RIP
The thing that sucks is I'm in the middle on my opinions about Jam Tracks in other modes. On one hand, it sucks that you have to grind so much in other modes to get these tracks On the other hand, they kinda sorta have the right idea? My grind to get songs like the various racing tracks actually got me to vaguely enjoy the other modes? I feel if all off-Festival tracks were just misc quests like Everybody Falls, then people would like how they're handling it much more. Get people to TRY other modes for songs, not GRIND them.
Even as someone that enjoys Rocket Racing more than the average person, I didn't do those quests to get the jam tracks because they were insanely grindy and just didn't feel worth it for RR tracks. Or anything for that matter. I'd feel more motivated if it was something like Stairway to Heaven, but then they'd be locking a LED ZEPPELIN track behind some of the worst series of quests recently in the game.
@hatkid421 yeah don't get me wrong the rocket racing weeklies sucked. I mainly only did them so I can continue my quest of having at least all the free songs. If they were more sprinkled around, like for example what we had for Metallica, that I would have liked.
do you think they'd charge like 50-100 vbucks to "unlock" practice mode? I wouldn't enjoy that but I feel like that's the only way we're gonna get practice mode at this point if streams are the reason we don't have it
Or do what they did in Remix: The Finale with putting Eminems head on Mecha Team Leader but on every character model. We've had a few LTMs in the past that put your characters head onto a specific body.
Happy to see Alec smiling throughout this whole podcast, idk how he could hold it for so long! Guess he's really happy about this prototype.
Because he’s a soyjack
Bros stuck in the weed dimension of course he's happy
He was so happy and his face is now stuck
Alec looks so happy getting some sweet air with his Moonshoes! Its a shame he didn't make it back to see the GH6 proto, RIP 😔
I think Acai is really happy about that GH6 prototype
I’m looking forward to seeing more from the prototype disc on stream later. Yesterday’s stream was really compelling from start to finish.
Lore Hero: *talking about lore*
Acai: 😃
It's my birthday and i got a Riffmaster! To say I'm excited is an understatement. 😁

that Judy outfit is from GH5, I can vouch for it. there might be like six people ever who've managed to unlock every single costume in that game.
Jake, you're a true hero in this community! Thank you so much for purchasing this prototype disc and sharing it with the world! I wish every community that I'm into had people as gracious as you.
Alec is so happy about that prototype!
One step closer to getting that Hocus Pocus live chart
The song at the end of the bonus rewards is giving me flashbacks to unlocking Darth Vader in Battlefront 2 at launch… something something pride and accomplishment…

Alec smiling through it all! can't believe this his life
The GHWOR build doesn't use the extra ram on 1GB dev kits
Also 60 dollar club unite, hoping 4.3 can be recovered 🙏

1:04:53 here on brasil, the cut of jason saying milk us, could have another meaning X.X haha
it would be so amazing to get someone like chris vance to talk about these prototypes as they see them
my homie had two instrument selections on his screen when we were playing lol, for a moment I thought they secretly added split-screen

I forgot to mention they also asked for the game to be upgraded to the new engine but were denied.
Army definitely would've been a Band Hero song, given there's legit no guitar in it lol that's BFF's whole thing
47:02 I don't know what jake is talking about, this goes so hard
found a DJ Hero enjoyer
21:44 I’m sure I saw this on the switch but they overlap because windows are bigger😂

The crew pass prior to chapter 6 was the battle pass, some skins, and the rocket league rocket pass.
Soooo, uh, is that quasi-official version of Stairway in Clone Hero/Yarg yet?
Ily guys!
idk why but I like how them liking that new festival songs were sticking to the festival season aged kinda badly
they actually """"fixed"""" the XP now, just a heads up
I have the same sound going back from song selector
I’m just waiting for them to make a solo Jam Stage. That’s the main reason I’ve been collecting Jam Tracks as much as possible. :/
festival XP rates have been horrible, and honestly it's just ruined my drive to play fortnite altogether. it's starting to feel like a job lmao

Man they need to just make eminem Vocals on Keytar instead of microphone

Fortnite br has included split screen for three years now no support for guest accounts
