Love you guys but that whole Hatsune Miku section was tough to get through lol Best way I can explain is that Vocaloid is a software that produces artificial vocals using recordings from a voice actress (not generative AI). Hatsune Miku was a character designed for a specific voice bank, and the design made her voice bank really popular. Artists that use the software to make music like to use her image in their music videos/album art, and this caused a huge fandom surrounding the character. Crypton, the company behind the character and software, has a defined "image" of her that they use for games and stuff (16 year old girl), but she can be interpreted in many different ways to suit the music she sings, which is why there are so many different designs, fanart, merch, etc. of her everywhere. Its like a canvas for people to create with. Also its hard to define what vocaloid music or Hatsune Miku music is cause its basically an instrument. Thats like saying "Oh I listen to guitar music only". Hope this makes more sense for you guys!
Agreed. By the time the next episode comes out, the free songs weekend will no longer be live. I'd really appreciate it if they recorded these on Tuesdays
Miku is a voice bank that was sampled by a actual person and shes basically a instrument and its used by music artists who dont know a singer or cant sing
I really love the idea of the Lore Hero Awards especially because the community absolutely *popped off* this year with awesome charts, unbelievable scores, and game changing prototype builds! Please make it happen!
Miku is the character to represent her vocaloid voicebank, along with the other vocaloids having character representations, and she has multiple different types of voicebanks and styles to make her sound like which is why songs using miku are so varied and great, along with the other vocal synths either under vocaloid or outside of it,and the people that make the music are usually referred to as producers ofc, also theres the "canon" miku thats offically used but its not the only miku as everyone can make their own miku to fit the songs or stories theyre telling, which is why theres so many varying designs even in the offical games like project diva and sekai ,and thats also where the age debate comes from because the base miku character is 16 (has been since creation) but anyone can change that for their story shes not a set concrete character its just the mascot for selling it and then used for offical media as she got very popular, and even in the offical media theres different types of miku version, like project diva has the outfits based off the songs to unlock and project sekai (mobile rhythm game) has different mikus to go with each group of characters for the songs/stories
soyadesu the goat!! the sea of thieves community are in shambles now that she's a guitar hero player. We'll never recover from such a great loss. But it makes me so happy to see her thrive and be acknowledged by some of the biggest people in this space!! you better treasure her😭💖
Miku is to be simple an instrument, they just made a character around the voice that was made. And about the 16 thing Japan just likes to basically play darts and wherever it lands is what determines age, it is weird yes. Also moose please listen to "Utsu-p" a metal artist that uses Miku for vocals. Even makes her do screams and stuff
Miku is basically the result of a bunch of Japanese people making a fictional band that uses their newfangled Text To Speech Program to sing. It's no different than like, the bands you would find in a videogame that the people behind it act and produce as an official IRL band, i.e. Splatoon. The main difference is the Text-to-Speech program. The one Miku uses is public, but Miku the brand is a band.
why was he so obsessed with her age, i don’t even listen to hatsune miku songs that much but god damn this didn’t feel like coming from a place of wanting to understand at all
Idk him so I hope he's not the kind of person to think all underage anime characters are made that way for creepy reasons...cause I hate that misunderstanding about anime
@princeOpalite3650 i agree. I’m not trying to throw hate to the guy whatsoever. it’s just i think that vocaloid is such an interesting medium that has a lot to offer for people of different tastes, having miku in front of this massive game could do wonders for the people who make this kind of music. the “anti-anime” culture is nothing new, you don’t have to like what i like, but it still bums me tf out going into this video praying for just a neutral stance just to hear something that I love immediately dismissed as “pdo shit”.
@@typicalw yeah...I. Just hoping Miku is the next festival season so we can get music from her awell...cause I'm pretty sure Miku does own certain songs IDK I've only listened to vocaloid and never played project senkai so idk how that works
I don't think Miku that hard to explain. Most basic functions Miku and all Vocoloids are musical text to speech tool. You draw from sample and makes adjustment to create songs. AI song covers before AI. Just using a made up character that's properly licensed instead of someone's stolen voice. Don't over complicate it by focusing to much on the anime girl, she doesn't matter.
lore hero awards do it do it do it (not bias) player of the year - in festival, clon/yarg and console, and an overall chart of the year breakout star of the year moment of the year hardest fc of the year lifetime acheivement award score of the year biggest disappointment of the year THERE'S SO MUCH YOU COULD DO
Biggest dissapoinment : Casuals getting pampered by Epic we almost got no fun songs this season other than the brave meanwhile they add fucking Benson Boone the worst tiktok artist not Iron Maiden or Van Halen
Also about the whole "Miku age" thing She doesn't really have a defined age as the artist can simply age her up in terms of their portrayal of her In the song Cendrillon, it's clear that she's the early-mid 20s princess and Kaito is the 30 year old prince. Meanwhile on a song like Weekender Girl, she's clearly more teenage and youthful. I think that "16" is a general age range for the type of topics official partnered songs covered: if you wanna cover more mature themes, go with Meiko. Wanna cover topics more related to younger teens, go with Rin. (These are guidelines not a set-in-stone rule. I wouldn't dare show Kokoro to a younger person despite being a Rin song) TL;DR Miku's age is whatever the artist portrays her as in their song but officially partnered songs usually cover topics relatable to an audience of ~16 year olds
idk, like i hear you guys but its starting to get old hearing "we need something new" when they barely "fixed" the engine 2 seasons ago. surely everything you guys want is currently being worked on. probably more hush hush on anything new now since the massive leak earlier this year.
Will you ever do an episode on the Nintendo era of Guitar Hero and Rock Band because those games were most popular on PlayStation and Xbox. I think this game got ruined by casuals complaining about hard songs epic added for an anniversary this might be the most cashgrab and scummiest move epic has ever added to festival if the community wanted hard and fun songs like creeping death, then we should at least hate on the casuals and wage war to them cuz they can't even FC AN EASY VOCAL SONG
Hatsume Miku is a voice software developed by Yamaha based in the voice of Saki Fujita. We have a los of games developed by Sega on Nintendo 3DS and PsVita. Is very popular Jake and yes she's very Hot Jake 🥵🥵🥵 17:15, you need to see the Brazilian Miku.
Miku is like a vtuber she has apps where you can make music with her but it's not official there's a official company that releases music for her and use her cartoon characters to sing the songs she makes she's not free use it's like using uefn to make songs you don't own fortnite characters but you use them to make music then epic games releases original music for festival that's not community made
the best way i can explain it is miku is an instrument and the character was made to better sell said instrument
to put a face to the vocals
Spot on
this helps my western capitalist-poisoned brain

I love how Jake is over-complicating the concept of Miku.
Definitely down for an awards show. Some Categories can be like “Most Fun Chart,” “Most Unique Chart,” and “Well, that’s a chart.”
TRUE!
Oh these poor souls had no idea
the Miku section is painful. So dreadfully painful.
I don’t even fw miku like most fans and it was painful 💀 it was like explaining memes to my parents
What was Jake smoking this episode man
I really love the idea of the Lore Hero Awards especially because the community absolutely *popped off* this year with awesome charts, unbelievable scores, and game changing prototype builds! Please make it happen!
Crashing out over miku is crazy…
but does make sense
Something that the Western mind can’t comprehend
8:44 it was Miss Murder 125
I’m a bit hurt as fellow rhythm gamers these men don’t know miku 😂😂😂
To be honest Miku rhythm games are basically a different genre so..MI guess it makes scense
@@princeOpalite3650 how? rhythm games is a genre
Jake is a master when it comes to rage baiting
Moose is too old to understand Miku... 😔

the Miku section was very very tough to get through
Interestingly, 2007 was 17 years ago, so now the Hatsune Miku concept is now older than the fictional age of the character.
To answer, why is Miku "16"
it's the voice range.
Wait really... that's actually really clever
soyadesu the goat!! the sea of thieves community are in shambles now that she's a guitar hero player. We'll never recover from such a great loss. But it makes me so happy to see her thrive and be acknowledged by some of the biggest people in this space!! you better treasure her😭💖
Acai wearing the same sweater as the Sandstorm FC
I love the hatsune miku spiral:
wisemoose: WHAT TF IS A MIKU
Jason: SHE IS A NOISE
alec: hehehehe
760: 😐
Next Lore Hero episode will feature Jake in a retirement home I’m calling it
I hope Jake get the help he needs
Me too
It's kind of like hello kitty core, it's a huge brand? She's an anime character that's not from an anime that people just find really cute.
I’m telling you if in anyway a festival game mode gets ranked, I’m getting unreal, no matter how much pain and suffering it takes

quickly becoming my favorite episode
also "best official chart" could include things like proto build charts and YARG's official setlist depending on how you define it
ZOMBIES ON BO6 HAS BEEN GREAT I HAVEN'T HAD THIS MUCH FUN SINCE BO3 AND THAT WAS THE PEAK
please fortnite festival add The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku as a jam track that would be great for vocals

Right? Every underage character was made by a pdf file apparently!
I have to play rpcs3 with 480p graphics just to get anything playable.

I wonder what happened with that GH 4.3 disk, did it get fixed yet or is it gone?
Looking through the timestamps, did EvilApple’s 502,010 Jordan not get mentioned?
Nope that must've slipped our minds unfortunately

I’m joking of course, but I gotta say that title was not something I expected to see in my feed.
