I have liked watching your videos so far but in the last couple of videos, it's a but perplexing why you're trying to paint Indian govt + army's presence in Sikkim as some sort of forced occupation. The army is primarily there because of the constant threat of border conflict with China. India and China had a big military standoff at Doklam in 2017 which is right next to Sikkim & a major conflict in Ladakh in 2021.Sikkim is what it is because the might of the Indian state is there to protect it. That's why Tibetans and Buddhists are living freely and peacefully unlike in Chinese occupied Tibet. The less I say about what China does in Tibet the better. The security is not there to prevent any conflict with monks, it is there to protect Sikkim from China. In fact, the guy that we saw in the video was from ITBP - Indo Tibetan "Border" Police whose primary role is protection of border with Tibet. PS: this is not a hate comment.
Thx for following our videos, were but simple travelers going from place to place. I don't like getting involved in politics, because I'm a foreigner and well it's neither my country, nor my place to comment on anything. I was just surprised that the army was guarding a budhist monastery (you don't see that everywhere, especially given the fact that these people are peaceful and generally nice). I know that Sikkim is close to China and all but I would have expected the border patrol to be at the borders of Sikkim, not in the middle of it. They were nice people and doing their job so we had a good time there. In the end all I'm trying to do is tell the story of the area and to me the army presence just didn't make sense. Nevertheless I talked with the monks a bit and they told me the story I mentioned soo no harm done to anyone. To end this I don't know why people keep interpreting everything in a bad way since clearly the message of the video is a positive one, about love and respect for each other. 🤷♂️
@@DodoExplorers Thanks for the reply. I think your concept of security is narrow. Security is not only required at the borders. In a border state like Sikkim, it is important to protect places of significance from potential external threats. If you have some knowledge of China's relationship with Tibetans, you'll understand the context. Also, it is not uncommon in India to have security at important religious places. The most beautiful and peaceful temple in my hometown is guarded by well armed people from security forces. You are wrong if you interpret that the security is because of the monks, it's actually to protect them and the heritage of Tibet keeping China in mind. There could be some other reasons that are way beyond our understanding. You will be surprised to know that there is a force is in Indian Army named "special frontier force" (SFF) that is made up of tibetan refugees living in India. They volunteer to join the Indian forces to help defend the country that welcomed them after they had to flee Tibet due to China. Do read: www.google.com/amp/s/www.indiatoday.in/amp/india/story/-secret-force-comprising-tibetans-gets-award-for-operation-against-china-in-ladakh-1762715-2021-01-26 www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=theprint.in/defence/all-about-special-frontier-force-the-secretive-indian-unit-in-news-after-ladakh-clash/496660/%3Famp&ved=2ahUKEwishfXZ-e73AhXARPEDHUblA704ChAWegQIEhAB&usg=AOvVaw2zOyCWUv_loErIN1u2bwpD
I've got lucky and while traveling and visited some places, Tibet included, so I'm very familiar with what is going on there. Also visited neighboring countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh etc which also have areas where this "security" is tighter. From the perspective of the simple people living there, they could sometimes go without this extra-tightened security. I mean I would rather live in a world where I don't have to see the army with guns questioning my every move and insisting on escorting me around even to the washroom, if you know what I mean. Maybe I'm a bit naive but every time I see the Army around it triggers my anxiety a bit. Why can't people just coexist with each other without the army's involvement? Plus if you look at history most of the time the army got involved, it got pretty messy, doesn't matter if it's the US or India, or Russia, or whichever army. They teach you one golden rule in the army, following orders. It doesn't matter if it's good, bad, moral or immoral, you follow the order. So therefore the free will that makes us humans and differentiate ourselves from animals is neglected. Anyway I'm rambling too much. I hope you get my point. Too much security is sometimes overwhelming to put it simply.
@Dodo Explorers Then i gather you wont have any knowledge about number of attempts on Dalai Lama life over the last 4-5 decades by chinese agents inside India, there is wishful thinking and then there being foolishly naive. And lets reinstate again, India didnt absorb Sikkim, the people of Sikkim voted to Join India instead, with 97% in favour of joining India
This was done by the Brahmins serving the Gupta Empire, specifically King Samudragupta, to curb/stop Hindu religious migration to Buddhism. Actually Lord Vishnu's last avatar is Kalki.
When we first visited Sikkim, we were greeted by light rainfall and drizzles happening simontainoulsy for days and at zero point we were not expecting snowfall but we got see it.
My dude Sikkim was another kingdom than Tibet..they are cousins but different you have to understand that..the title is misleading you should change it!
I guess you got it all wrong about security. Sikkim is a state which borders china so basically the presence of army in the region is because of that same reason. You saying "to protect you from buddhists" I never heard anywhere.

As I stated in the Video, tha 16th Karmapa when he came to India, iver the vitder in '59 he built this Monastery as a Replica to the Tashi-Lumpo Monastery in Tibet (aka the head chair of the Panchen Lama). Since this one resembles the one over in Tibet that's the reason for the caption: a little piece of Tibet in India.
P.S. intially he went to Bhutan but the Sikkimese King asked him specifically to come here and when he arrived at Rumtek, he fell in love with the place, so that's why he built it there.
Also why so much stress? I mean, can't people just enjoy the content without moaning over every little aspect. What we provide is the local legend told to us by the monks teaching and praying there, we don't make up stuff just for the sake of it.

and when china attcked they took kailash mansarover and some parts of arunachal pradesh , uttarakhand , himachal , ladakh
and if we free tibet then tibet has to become part of india because tibet population is very low and if china attacked again then they will not be able to defend and plus tibetans will not be having money

Happy weekend Buddhist Dodos 😂😂😂😂

Don't spread wrong information... Sikkim is not Tibet
Who said Sikkim is Tibet?
It is said that buddha was avatar of lord vishnu
No Buddhist believes that.
This was done by the Brahmins serving the Gupta Empire, specifically King Samudragupta, to curb/stop Hindu religious migration to Buddhism. Actually Lord Vishnu's last avatar is Kalki.

Why vedio is too short?
At least make 30 minute vedio.
I guess you got it all wrong about security. Sikkim is a state which borders china so basically the presence of army in the region is because of that same reason. You saying "to protect you from buddhists" I never heard anywhere.
