I cannot thank you enough, too many tutorials would have dragged this out for 10 minutes. We all appreciate cutting straight to the chase, earned yourself a sub
Why in the world this video doesn't have more views??? Just what I was looking for! A great help for rookies like me. Straight to the point. No mumbo jumbo or annoying background music. 👏👏👏 The video was a live saver for me. Thanks so much. 👍
For people who cannot make a compound path with the objects, just select the group of objects that you wish to apply gradient with, then use the "Gradient Tool (G)", click on one end of the canvas, then drag across the canvas to the other end; the gradient color will be applied to the group as a whole instead of multiple individual objects.
The problem with this is it still gives every object a seperate gradient, it means if you working with a complex object with 100+ shapes it will lag your pc as you are changing the gradient of all the objects in one go
@@TrollProductionsMC Well, this is the only way I figured out to bypass the application restriction; any better solution from an expert user is most welcomed.
Hi. I have been looking for this for so long. This is sooo good in terms of explanation, your tonicity and the on top everything, it is a bit size video for such an important utility. Thankyou!
No need to make a compound path, just use the gradient tool and drag from one side to the opposite to have the gradient spread on all selected object. Even if you make a group it is possibile to obtain the same result, just apply to the group a new fill attribute in the aspect panel and then put the gradient as it is.
Thank you very much for your advice! I'm working on a document created by someone else and for some reason I'm unable to do the compound path without messing it up! But I managed to do it your way!
Hi when I apply a compound path it turns the fill transparent and keeps the stroke. I have a feeling it either has to do with the square I have behind it or the shapes that are filled and have a stroke? Any suggestions?
thank you for the explication! however it seems this is not compatiple with the pre existing clipping mask I made... is there any solution to make these two "cohabit"?
Hey :) How would u make the “same” gradient all together as it is here in your video, If there is a difference in the logo ,and it has different size of lines in it and it seems -compound path- is making the lines the same size , and I would like to keep the different size, it doesn’t let me . I’m stock , can you help me? :) Thanks you B
You got me from point A to point B in 24 seconds, the internet needs more of you.

Can you make a whole course about Illustrator, like your course about Inkscape? 🙂
Yes, eventually. It'll take a while to get that done though. Illustrator is big and has lots of features.
