@@GhosnI’m with you there. I tried F1 22 I think and tried fiddling with things FOV-wise but never got to a place where I could play it. That warping on the side screens of my rig was just too immersion breaking.
That's a side problem of this series, compared to that stuff that, they should solve previously to that, like their basic problems, but as they have shown us 'till now, they never will..
There is a good reason why it feels like Project Cars 2 handling. The handling for F1 24 was done by the same team. There is a patch expected to release within the coming days that is supposed to improve the physics a lot, I would advise trying the game again after that patch releases
You should open a sim racing arcade man, so many ppl haven't been able to experience this fun hobby. Charge a fee for 30min or longer and spread this joy. If i had the money and lived in a more populated area i would do this.
Driving a F1 car isnt supposed to feel natural, is such a different experience, Max was involved in the handling and he loves a pointy car, hence why they have such a good turn in, ive watched every F1 race since the 80's and looks pretty good to me
Thanks, great video and good to hear that it is not just me. With disconnected you describe what I felt in the couple of hours that I attempted to play it. I know I should not expect iRacing level feedback and I don't but this feels really bad. It is as if the wheelbase is only used to create some steering resistance but it does not let me feel what is happening with the car at all. In F1 23 this was definitely a lot better and I enjoyed playing that. In F1 24 after the issues to get it working on my rig (in the end I needed to disconnect the Simagic shifter and one of my button boxes for it to recognise my steering wheel). In the end after quite some laps in Spa I could get some competitive laptimes. But the handling does not makes sense at all. It is extreme oversteer on entry and then mid corner it suddenly understeers without any way of feeling what the car is going to do. So unless they release a handling patch I won't be playing it anymore. With more practice I can probably get used to it, but I don't want to. It does not make sense when compared to car handling in general so I am not going to waste my time on it. I did read a lot of similar comments and watched similar reviews also from high level racers such as esport drivers, which makes me even more dissapointed in the UA-camrs that EA manager to get in their release video to praise the new handling model. I guess the sponsor money is that much....
Can you explain how some people are getting 4 seconds faster lap times on time attack than the actual cars and drivers? I find this detail to be very unrealistic and it’s been pretty much every F1 game now not just 24. Is there a cheat code to unlock performance or something? Thanks.
Simple, they want the game to appeal to a lot of players of which most are just casual playing race games. If those players would constantly be 5 seconds a lap slower than what they see on TV it get's less interesting for them to play. And then you have the esport drivers that you see online that are talented drivers/gamers and spend 6 hours or more a day refining their craft in the game as that is how they earn their money. And those are the fastest times that you will see. It is indeed not realistic. That is also not what I expect from this game. I do expect the handling to be somewhat predictable and to make use of the capabilities of modern FFB wheelbases.
@@JJCAMulders I think 1 to 2 seconds would be fair. More than that and it becomes more of an arcade game. I am enjoying 24’s driving dynamics more than I ever did 23. I find the driving experience to be more engaging. The pointy nature allows me to focus more on the apex and Verstappen’s slow in fast out style is very rewarding.
The 7800X3D would work great for this setup. I typically fly MSFS in VR with a Varjo Aero. I was getting stutters constantly with a 13900k and 4090. Switched to AMD and the 7800X3D and what a difference! The X3D is the top dog for Flight and Race Sim.
I´ve purchased the game last week on its steam sale and the physics feel surprisingly good. Better than expected. I see the video is older so they must have updated them. But I had a really good time with the game. And the AI is very impressive. Probably the best AI from all the sims out there. Annoying things are the menus. And the pit radio guy talks annoying stuff.
I love the new handling model. The last few feel like the back of the car weighs 4 tons and is ready to spin at any second. I didn’t get any floaty feeling in the wheel either. I remember Pcars2 and it feels way better than that to me.
I think the handeling just reflects how the most f1 cars are right now after the new front wing upgrades. But I also wouldn't know, Ive never driven a modern f1 car either.
What about mounting the monitor or monitors on the motion system as well because I think it would be better for the whole thing to move not just your seat or cockpit
Ea said they are working on the handling. And apparently a beta test was out over the last weekend that is fixing the issue so its jut a matter of time until we see it.
Well if and when they drop the price on this game in the future, I may get this game and if it does have VR. I also have F1-22 and F1-23 and enjoy them in VR mode. I am not a F1 Fan boy, just like the variety of different racing games. I am not fussy how game driving experience is far as handling, I just adapt to what the game provides and go with it. As long as I can keep up with and battle the AI, I should have fun with any racing game. I hope the game graphics and detail work fine with my RTX-3080TI Graphics card and using my Quest 3 VR headset. I will just wait till the STEAM price of F1-24 drops. Thanks for the video. Take care.
Maybe it's just me, but last year's game I ran my wheel calibration at the default radius of 300°. If you did the same, FYI, this year's games default is 400°. Maybe that's what you are experiencing? Just a thought.
I think the problem is, we do not have a realistic frame of reference. F1 cars ARE insanely grippy in corners. tracks in older cars where full throttle would be suicide can be taken by modern cars with ease. And you're not going to find a modern day F1 driver who will give a realistic review of the handling as they'll be told not to due to licensing. And as I doubt ANY other race sim F1 23/24 car has qualifiable physics, we'll probably never know for sure. For all we know, F124 might be the most realistic physics engine ever made 🤣
@@boostedmedia I took part in the closed tests, and to be fair, each one felt completely different. It was suggested the driving model was tweaked to help gamepad players, but I would like to think that is separate to wheel controls. But... This is EA, who would monitise using gaming wheels if they could. Probably.
They are supposed to be super grippy at speed but only with downforce which decreases when you slow down. So the really slow corners can be problematic. Of course I have no idea how accurate F1 is. I've driven on a track but never in a downforce car and only with soft summer tires, never with slicks.
Justifying how lazy EA is hilarious. One way they could improve the game is stop doing yearly releases rushing through an unfinished product every year, move to a subscription based system and make gradual improvements to the handling models. You then can also drive classic cars and previous chassis, all content you pay for as we know how money hungry they are. The handling model is horrific and will always be a controller based game. Max used to be open about it until they gave him a big pay day to be the face of it. Now he keeps quiet. The game is ass, end of story.
there's a new patch coming for handling, it would be nice to see you trying since I believe you have the most honest feedback without glazing or super hating on the f1 series games :)
Good first impression video, let's hope they take on the feedback and fix it. I won't buy at this price anyway, so for me they have until it's heavily discounted to get it right. It's a shame that other racing games/sims do F1 better with user mods applied.
New to F1 series and the FOV slider has me thoroughly confused. In iRacing my correct FOV is 120 degrees. In F1 24 Cockpit view I seem to be around -12 but have no idea what that really means. Any information on this? I am really enjoying the game.
Hmmm..please tell me they have Projection Correction like ACC. Sure the physics might be unrealistic but someimes, I just want to play a sim racing game that is not so serious. I can barely keep it together doing a 3 lap race on Norcheliffe on ACC... wholly cow, my arms would go dead from the torque and i completely lose concentration. My pet hate for sim racing games using my ultrawide monitors are the stretched out mirrors, that's why i always end up playing ACC where i can compensate for the distortion, iRacing is good as well but the latter looks so dated now.
just finishing season 1 and it’s very pointy in low gears but feels nice in the higher ones.. i don’t think its as bad as everyone is saying it is but it is definitely something strange and takes some time getting used to. hopefully they don’t make it worse with the post launch patch
The battling is so true with other racers for me mostly GT7. Thats part of the reason i dont like the whole start from the back and work your way up as thats not realistic. Qualifying rounds make the most sense
Hey Will, how do you get the bezel free kit to look so decent on titles like this? For most sims, I just do the bezel correction ingame. But I can't imagine F1 24 has that option, right?
They ASUS stopped making them a while ago. I have a set are they are amazing. If you ever get the chance to get some second had do so. I run them on 32”screens with custom brackets.
@GMCRaptor I have them already. I can set them up in most sims ingame quite well. But I noticed on Will's video that he has them pretty good aligned on F1 24 as well. So was hoping to find out where he does the bezel/picture alignment for it. On my setup it's not just aligning the monitors ans slap the lenses on. You either need to tinker in Nvidia control panel or in the sims to get it correct
How do you setup the tripple screens? I cant use Nvidia Surround. I use the workaround with editing the resolution manually. But the POV and distortion of the side screens is not perfect. On your rig it looks perfect. Any ideas?
it's distorted on his rig too...check at 1:40 when he looks at the mirrors, everything is stretched (the mirrors aren't that long). EA/Codemasters need to fix Triple support on their end, but it seems like they never will.
You are turning on the La Seurce and the chicane on the incorrect gear. Bothe of them are second gear not first. That’s why you kinda fish tail and you can’t go on the bass early enough. On the chicane, once you hit 2nd gear immediately gear up to third and once your car is straight start accelerating. Same on Ke Seurce
Actually, it would be more realistic if you let the halo bar be transparent. That would simulate more the 3d vision of a real driver. In real life the driver can see through the bar. Just put your hand in vertical position in font of your nose and you will understand what I mean. Other than that, great video.

Looks great, I play quite a few racing SIM's but I couldn't play this with the engine drone like sound, it is just horrible, now if they released a retro F1 with V10's or V8's I'd be in like Flynn.
In the modern age of gaming, I don't see the point of these annual releases when we can have live services and online updates. Unless they rewrite the engine or make drastic differences, what can't just be changed in update? Perhaps it's just licensing, but, meh...Personally I don't care about licenses.
F1 24 is nothing like F1 22, yeah you can be very agressive on the throttle but it also destroys your tires. If you do so, at some point in the race you won't be able to do that anymore and you may have to box earlier. Most people who complained publicly about the handling don't mention that.
While I understand the hate it's getting, and please forgive me because I haven't played an F1 title since 2020 (I think?), but do we really aspire and hope that F1 titles are to be built to be sim like? To my understanding that an official title of a "brand", whether that be FIFA, NBA, NFL, or in this case F1, it has to meet a ridiculously huuuuge audience market, both casual gamers, sim gamers, even the younger generation getting into gaming. I know that the majority of us here come for simulation and expect it as well with it being an official brand like previously mentioned. But are companies taking a wider approach to appealing to an ever-growing audience? Hence the game modes etc? At the end of the day, can we jump in, with our fancy wheels or basic controllers, and just...you know...have fun on a video game? If so, does that make it valid enough to purchase and pick up and play...? Like I mentioned I haven't played an F1 title since 2020, and since jumping into the Sim Racing world, would probably be massively underwhelmed by the feeling I'd get from playing a modern F1 title...but would that stop me from having fun with the game?
You're exactly right. I've always enjoyed the F1 games because they immerse you in the world of F1 better than anything else. But this one for me is jsut a step too far in the arcade direction in terms of handling tothe point where personally I don't enjoy it as much. It also feels like a lazy release because physics aside, its almost exactly the same game as last year.
The issue is they're hogging the license and no one else can make a more sim-like F1 game. Why F1 won't make it a non-exclusive license is simply a money grab and it's frustrating.
Verstappen demanded this game be more realistic and they did a fine job. Yes these modern cars can take some corners flat out due to mechanical grip and aerodynamics. Also I love the pointy front end which is the way Max likes his car.
@@fluxahelmi He really is the best person to consult if you are making an F1 game. Verstappen is a Sim God when he is not in the actual car. Second would be Lando.
You can take silver stone turns 10-13 totally flat out, it’s not fast but the fact that it’s possible really speaks to how awful the handling physics are
I just bought f1 24 and also f1 20 (for playing Classic f1 cars) and as I can see, I would say f1 23 looks more realistic in many ways than f1 24 about graphic and things, but I would say as I can see now, handling in f1 24 would be more easier to handling and looks possibly faster driving as irl f1 car or not, not that sure but personally I just like because price droped and KICK Team Logo represented the old Stake team one and look lovely (I like Bottas' personality). I would conclude like this, if you are in to more realistic graphic and more driving, handling skill -> you should go for f1 23 but you want more contents new in game features probably more realistic in f1 and easier to be handling experience as they claimed, you should go for f1 24, I hope I can buy f1 23 too for comparing but now it's running out of my budget I hope you guys would make the right decision to suit yourself before you buy and the last thing, if you guys still have budget to spend, don't forget to spend it on f1 20 too, it is one of the GOAT f1 games of all time especially, available f1 class cars such as Mclaren MP4/4 for you for free and more, so bought it before Store would terminate them out as prevouis and recently some f1 21 and 22 before tho. (Hope f1 25 -> 75th Anniversary, they would bring back f1 classic cars to the series tho❤)
Do you plan to try the game post-patch? By the way, stop dropping to 1st gear on few turns. You're driving like you're on a GT car. Different type of animal.
I have a feeling you all love the Gran Turismo series of games...why? They are barely even sim adjacent except maybe GT7...how about NFS series? Not every racing game needs to be 100% sim to be fun. Sim racers are a niche market...the only way to make money in that niche market is mass amounts of DLC. A wider audience means you get an actual game for the price of a game. We have sims to play...sometimes I just want to play fun video games.

Same on Ke Seurce
what is his steering wheel ?
Does anyone else have a problem with not getting the lights on your fanatec wheel to work? works fine on f1 23 but not on f1 24
How much did you pay for that wheel its incredible..
They need this in VR for consoles 😢 How much longer do we have to wait ?
Looks so much better than the PS4 version, So far the Ps4 Pro glitched a couple of times,
great vid !! how did you get everything to line up whit the bezel free kit ??
How did you get rid of the in-game steering wheel?
With a piece of foam. 😂
Ciao, quali valori cockpit usi?
The car sounds like an RC Airplane. We might have never driven an F1 car but we’ve all heard them and they don’t sound like this!
They do sound like this.
Most, myself included, don't want them to, but currently they do.
What wheel is that
Can we hide the wheel or not
Actually, it would be more realistic if you let the halo bar be transparent. That would simulate more the 3d vision of a real driver. In real life the driver can see through the bar. Just put your hand in vertical position in font of your nose and you will understand what I mean. Other than that, great video.
Running the same system… didn’t realize it was this powerful. Sheeshus.
You’re running a 100k simulator too? Of course you are…. 😂
@@NoHacksTSR - So you picked 1 of 100 "systems" they have in their set-up to stop your day and reply with a snide comment. Glad I am not you but hopefully it made you feel triumphant if only for a fleeting moment.... Anyhoo, we are both running an i9 13900K + 4090 PC and it seems I chose a uber-good config. Cheers.
Yo,do you use 1 really big curved monitor or 3? If you do use one big one then what monitor is it?
There’s a full rig tour linked in the video description. It’s 3 65in 4K gaming monitors.
@@boostedmedia thanks dude
there are cockpit views but this is THE cockpit view
Looks great, I play quite a few racing SIM's but I couldn't play this with the engine drone like sound, it is just horrible, now if they released a retro F1 with V10's or V8's I'd be in like Flynn.
VR performance?
I think they gna do a handling update soon. I believe most ppl complained about the handling so hopefylly it gets better
Bonjour ce quoi vautrer réglage cockpit sinon votre vidéo est super 👍
They also raised something in my breaks as well
What monitors do you use or have?
boostedmedia.net/boosted-media-sim-rig-details/
Maybe F1 2050 will have triple screen support, maybe!
umm eyefinity or nvidia surround ??
@@MassBr3d88 he’s using nvidia surround but look how the side mirrors are stretched!
crew chief work with this?
Sim Set up pls , vr or
the halo should be transpartent like the real 2 eyes effect does in real life
i knew it :D thats why i am better in 2024 on controller
Thats not the Redbull Ring, thats Spa Franchorchamps..the best track in the world
In the modern age of gaming, I don't see the point of these annual releases when we can have live services and online updates. Unless they rewrite the engine or make drastic differences, what can't just be changed in update? Perhaps it's just licensing, but, meh...Personally I don't care about licenses.
All about the $$$$ to EA mate, minimum effort to maximum $$$. They don't have any passion for the actual game
now that we can see the reflection you need to wear a helmet as well 😁
Haha! I’m wearing a cycling helmet for the GoPro. 😂
Skipping this year. Waiting for the 23 developer crew to fix it next year like they did with 22
F1 24 is nothing like F1 22, yeah you can be very agressive on the throttle but it also destroys your tires.
If you do so, at some point in the race you won't be able to do that anymore and you may have to box earlier.
Most people who complained publicly about the handling don't mention that.
Arcade game physics still.
What I'm hearing is better off bagging a cheap F1 23 now that the latest version is out :)
Verstappen demanded this game be more realistic and they did a fine job. Yes these modern cars can take some corners flat out due to mechanical grip and aerodynamics. Also I love the pointy front end which is the way Max likes his car.
😂😂 he get a lot of money🤣😂
@@fluxahelmi He really is the best person to consult if you are making an F1 game. Verstappen is a Sim God when he is not in the actual car. Second would be Lando.
I see the same old prices for asetek
(Hope f1 25 -> 75th Anniversary, they would bring back f1 classic cars to the series tho❤)
amazing.
You can even run over grass and it does'nt unset the car either...
that is actually better that F1 23's understeery 200% downforce grip cars
Do you plan to try the game post-patch? By the way, stop dropping to 1st gear on few turns. You're driving like you're on a GT car. Different type of animal.
Yeah will have an update video in the next few days.
Why doesn't he use 8th gear ?
Cam on ur helmet .,,!?
I have a feeling you all love the Gran Turismo series of games...why? They are barely even sim adjacent except maybe GT7...how about NFS series? Not every racing game needs to be 100% sim to be fun. Sim racers are a niche market...the only way to make money in that niche market is mass amounts of DLC. A wider audience means you get an actual game for the price of a game. We have sims to play...sometimes I just want to play fun video games.
Wish F1 would grant non-exclusive licenses for other devs and publishers. The fact we're stuck with EA is atrocious.
You can spend all that money and time just to find yourself unable to find a way to beat that Hamilton
Imagine wearing gloves while playing a race sim😂
Its to protect the wheel
Here i am play f1 game on android real racing 3 😂, man i wish i have equipment like this to play the game, i love racing game,..
Leave it to EA to dumb it down even more
