Wow... this top is so great on you... not your usual beautiful colors but you look gorgeous... I think your neckline finish it the best I've seen... Bravo 👏... loving all your collaborations... your puppy looks so happy running at your feet... kisses for the little fur baby n hugs for you...
Hi Cindy! Thank you so much - I really do love the neckline on this top! I'm going to give it another try in a brighter flowier fabric 😊. Hercules was having so much fun filming haha! Thanks so much for watching!!
Me again. 😂 This is one of my fave makes you’ve ever made. Ever. The color, the fit, the style. Everything. It is so chic, classic, elevated, and beautiful. Truly. It is amazing on you! 💜
Thanks Andra 💜 That's so sweet of you!!
Ps. I really like the colour on you, you have lots of colour in your wardrobe so its lovely to see you in something more subdued. In my opinion you really suit the colour x
Thanks - that's so sweet of you to say! 😊
Thank you Michelle, I am unable to sew something purple but I will gladly give to your just giving page in the name of your father 💜
So gorgeous and feminine, Michelle! I love it! 🤩💜
Thank you so much Andra! 😊💜
Hi Michelle, you’re looking fantastic. I agree with Kerry, you are colour!!! I think it’s the fabric choice. It needs to flow more. Have a great day. Val ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
Hi Val! Thanks for your input! I think the color of the top seems to be the consensus for why I feel so blah about it! I'm definitely going to give it another try 😊💜
I vote with everyone else. Dye this lovely top. 💜
I'm thinking about it but I'd have to buy some dye - it's mostly polyester and all of my dyes require natural fibers. But it's not out of the question!! Thanks Dotschi 😊💜
I love everything about this top. I even like that its not so flowy. Maybe you would like it with ice dyed pants you are missing your bright colors. The color looks nice on you. Loved the cameo appearance of Hercules.
Hi Kaye! I am definitely missing my bright colors!! I'm glad you like the top 😊. Hercules is enjoying making some cameos haha!
It looks beautiful on you and the fit is spot on. My first Rhapsody was in a solid stable jersey and was meh. I don’t wear it. The second was in a tiny print rayon crepe and I really like it. The third was in a summery floral rayon challis and I love it. It was my favorite this summer. I think rayon challis is the perfect fabric for this pattern.
I have the same feelings about the armscye but have decided that 1) the higher armscye keeps the shoulder area fitted and tidy which helps make it look less bulky around my ample bust, as peasant blouses tend to do, and 2) it’s been so many years since I have worn a woven top that it can’t help but feel weird.
Thanks for sharing your experience - that's really helpful! 😊. 💜
The top is lovely on you... It really suits you and you look fabulous... The colour really suits you... it complements your completion and looks very feminine.... Your weight loss is really noticeable... You are doing amazing 👏
Thank you so much Teresa! I appreciate it 😊💜
I love this top on you Michelle!!! I think it’s the fabric! It’s not your normal bright colorful fabric!! It’s very much me!! But I think you’re happier with bright and colorful!!
Hi Kathy - yes, you are right - I am definitely happier in brighter colors 😊 Thank you!
I think your Rhapsody is absolutely stunning on you - the length is perfect and you really nailed that neckline. It is one of my very favourite patterns, but I’m not annoyed you’re not in love. 😉 Like others have said, I think the lack of bright colours and patterns is throwing you off. I would encourage you to try this again in a flowy rayon in a bright colourful print - I think you’ll love it! 🇨🇦💜
Hi Izzy! I've been convinced to give it another try in a brighter, flowier fabric - thanks for the encouragement!! 💜
The top suits you Michelle but it has no color.. you are color girl.. I would dye it say purple a rich beautiful purple. As for the underarms , turn the blouse inside out and resew the bottom curve deeper, should fix your problem.. Can I say, Wow girl, you are shrinking, well done!!! X
Oh my gosh Kerry - I think you might be right! Although I love the lilac color, it just feels washed out to me. You know me better than I know myself haha! Thank you for the suggestion on how to fix the underarm! 💜💜💜
When she said she felt meh about it, I was thought, “there is not enough color for her.”
I had exactly the same thought!
I just went and saw Angela's Colab Rhapsody top and I've changed my mind Michele - I think a brighter color and a flowy material like a rayon would look fabulous on you. Don't give up on this pattern.
I'm. not giving up - thank you so much for your thoughts! I agree with you wholeheartedly 😊💜
You look gorgeous in this! Maybe it is the sleeve issue that is bothering you and having you feel meh. You honestly look fab, but I totally understand the importance of wearing what you love. I also love how you styled it
Hi Christine! Thanks so much for your kind comments 😊. I have been convinced by the other commenters to give this another try in a brighter, flowier fabric - so I will definitely be doing that! I'm looking forward to seeing your pjs tomorrow!!
You’re amazing Michelle! I think you look beautiful in this ❤️. I would definitely say give it another go in a bright, bold and flowy fabric and then decide if it’s for you or not 👍🏼
I'm definitely going to do that Ruan! Thank you so much 😊💜
It looks really good on you.The fabric is so cute! Very slimming! I also think the color is cute, not over powering.
Thank you so much Debi - I think the subtle color is what makes it less than exciting for me - but I appreciate your comment - it's so kind of you 😊💜. I'm definitely going to give it another try!!
You look great in the top and white jeans. I think it’s likely the lack of pattern and color that “meh” you. But I think you look terrific in it. Casual chic.
Thank you so much Barbara! 💜😊
Well, I have had the pattern for years, I do mean years, but never wanted to attempt it. I did watch Whitney's sew a long but still wasn't ready. I feel like I'm an experienced advanced beginner, lol, but no more than that after about 25 years of sewing. I love how this looks on you! It may be that the eyelet doesn't have the drape you want but you look so feminine and sweet in that top! You win, I'm sewing it up!!
Hi Marly! You should give it a try - it was not a difficult sew at all! And if you struggle with the v neck, just sew along with Whitney and it'll be super duper easy 😊. I definitely think a drapier fabric will make a difference - I'm going to make another!
Michelle...you look lovely in this blouse and I love your pearls! 💜
Thank you Sammee 😊
I love that outfit. Wow you look stunning. The top slims you down and the pants look really cute on you. Love the eyelet fabric!!!!!
Thank you so much!!💜
It looks really pretty Michelle on you, it's also really flattering on you, the length is spot on. Are you unhappy with it because it isn't your normal bright colours I wonder? So many items I make I'm kind of 🤔😟. You did a fantastic job on that neckline. Yours and Angela's reviews does make me tempted to try it ?! 😁💜
Hi Carole - I'm beginning to think that the color of the fabric IS why I feel kind of "meh" about it. I do love the fit (except for the armholes) - so I do think I'll give it another try :). Thanks! I hope your trip is going well!!!
I love that top on you! The eyelet is beautiful and the color brightens you. That's an awesome make.
Thank you so much😊💜
Love the top on you Michelle, I agree with a few on here, you're not used to the colour on you but I think it's really pretty. It looks a good fit too, I wonder if maybe you cut the bodice for the sleeveless version & that's why it feels tight or perhaps you're used to having a looser fit there - you seem to have good movement but if it's not comfortable you might not reach for it. I personally wouldn't dye it as the eyelet parts will be polyester & won't hold the dye but also could be an effect you like! Off to see Angelas now & hope to join you with your challenge 🤗
Hi Sam! It's so good to see you - I miss your videos!! Good point about the eyelets not dyeing - I know there are dyes available for polyester/synthetic fabrics. I might get some and test it on some of the small scraps I have left. Thank you so much for all your kind comments! I do think I'll try this again in a brighter, flowier fabric 😊💜
Ok, here goes. Remember this is just my opinion, no offense intended. I love you muchly. 💗💜 I LOVE this blouse! I love the style on you. I love eyelet myself, maybe it’s not for you; that’s okay! If you make another, use really colorful fabric, adjust the arms. Here’s my real point: your body shape is changing and your brain isn’t accustomed to your lovely new lines yet. Watch your video twirls a few times, zoning in on how the shape of the garment defines your beautiful shape. You’ve been hiding it in larger garments previously. Is it time to venture into different garment shapes? 💗💗💗 All this intended with great respect and love.
Lynn
Oh goodness, no offense taken! I appreciate you SO much Lynn 💜. I actually do like the way the top fits. I think it boils down to the fabric. Although I love the soft lilac color, it's just not "me". The overwhelming response seems to be that I need to try it again in something more colorful - so I will definitely do that 😊💜. Hugs to you Lynn!! xo. P.S. thank you kindly for the sweet remarks about my new "shape"💜
Michelle, I think you are rocking this! Maybe a bold chunky purple necklace will be more you. But I agree with your new shape, you look good girl!
@@mcf5878 Ooh I like that idea! Thanks !!
That outfit looks great on you. Love the lilac colour top.
Thank you so much! 💜😊
I think the style and color look fabulous on you. It may be one of my favorite makes on you, but that is hard to say since you have so many great makes. My opinion is it is a keeper.
Thanks so much Christi - it's definitely a keeper, just not one of my personal favorites. But I am happy that it's one of yours!! 😊💜
I have heard a lot about the Rhapsody blouse! I think yours turned out lovely!!! Happy collab 3!
Thank you so much Fatmata! 💜
I love the Rhapsody top on you, you really suit the style its extremely flattering on you and you should definitely make more. I really admire the hard work you are putting into this challenge, I think you are amazing. My mother has just recently gone into a care home as she has Alzheimers x
I pray that your mother's symptoms don't get too bad. My heart goes out to you and your family! 💜💜
I think that top looks fabulous on you!!
Oh thank you! 😊💜
I love this pattern and have made it twice, with a third version in the works. I have used a rayon challis - one leopard print and one a flower pattern, which I think makes the blouses more appealing than a plain fabric. And I think you may be right - a “ flowier” fabric will help you like it more.
Thanks for letting me know! I will work on a different version next month 😊💜
I think the style is very flattering on you. I just used eyelet on a top and find it's not the softest to wear, maybe after a few washes it will feel better. Maybe that along with the lighter colour, that's not your usual bright and cheery is what's giving you that "meh" feeling. Maybe ice dye it? Love your videos! Keep them coming girl!
Thanks so much Sherry! I am thinking about dyeing it but my dyes are for natural fibers and this is mostly polyester. I know RIT makes dyes specifically for synthetic fibers so I might give that a try. OR I might just leave it alone and have one subtle top in my wardrobe haha! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos!!!
Love the top on you - I definitely agree that you would like it in a more flowy fabric and in a brighter/deeper color. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks Betsy! I am definitely going to make it again - everyone has me convinced 😊
The top is beautiful....like others said it's prob the light coloured fabric....I have sewn this Rhapsody top a total of 5 times....it's a really cool top to sew..I have used wovens that has more drape ..double georgette ..chalis and crepe....
Hi Evelyn - thanks for sharing your fabric choices! I think trying it in something drapier could help 😊💜
That style is amazing on you. I think you might feel the ho...hum feeling because of the lack of all your fun colors. I'm just saying. You should try it in your beautiful colors. Your dad would be so proud of you because of your effort to bring more awareness to ALZ. I thank you for that. You have a blessed day n I hope that you receive double the donations that you hoped for.
Hi Terrie! I agree, I think the color is the issue. Thank you so much for your kind comments 💜💜
Oh Michelle, I absolutely adore that top on you! It is super cute, I love the color, the style and the fit on you too! (I also love the way you styled it!) I did not make that pattern yet, and I don’t believe I purchased it either, but after seeing yours…hmm? I think it might be adding it to my list! Thanks so much for sharing!
It's a good pattern Myra - I think if I make it in a flowier brighter fabric, I will love it even more. I just need to tweak that armscye! I look forward to seeing whether you make it or not - it's totally your style!
I love this on you, Michelle! The colour is lovely but perhaps it’s what’s throwing you?…it’s far more subtle than what you usually wear. I love how you’ve styled it and you look so chic and put together. I would definitely say make another version, address the arm hole issue and pick a bolder fabric and then maybe you’ll know if it’s the pattern or the fabric. The neckline is gorgeous on you! Just my thoughts 💜💜🤩
Hi Faith! Everyone is convincing me that the color is the issue! I also love the neckline and the overall fit (except for the armscye) so I will definitely give it another try 💜😊. Thanks!!!
I really like that style of top on you, not sure about that color though, I'm used to seeing bright bold colors on you. I've been wanting to make this top for like months now, I will use a drapey fabric when I do. Michelle you are really looking great! Have a wonderful day!!! xxx
Thanks so much Sherry! I definitely think a drapier brighter fabric will make me happier. It's a nice top - I hope you like it once you make it!
Hi Michelle, I love your Rhapsody blouse! I love the way it looks on you. I love the way you styled it. I think that you should definitely make it again. I am thinking it is the fabric that is not colorful enough for you, but I love it.
Hi Dawn - yes, I am definitely going to give this top another try in a brighter fabric - thanks!!
I agree with all the other comments about how good this looks on you and I would steal this from you in a hot minute if we were neighbors. Do try it on with darker pants and I think it will look great with your tie dye pants. Please show us the top if you make another.
That's a great suggestion to try it with darker pants - I'll do that for sure 😊. I will definitely show you when I make another - I think everyone has me convinced to try it in a brighter, flowier fabric 😊💜💜💜
I think your rhapsody blouse turned out amazing - It is very flattering on you and I love how you styled it (those wedges are gorgeous).
This is one of my favourite blouse patterns and I’ve made 3 so far. I think you should make it again in a more colourful fabric.
Hi Margaret - it's great to know that you love the pattern so much! Everyone has definitely convinced me to give this top another try in a drapier brighter fabric 😊
This shirt is so flattering on you and you definitely should make it again.
Thanks so much Barbara! 😊💜
Cute top, though I think you would like it more in a brighter fabric 🙂 I sew a lot of Love Notions patterns,
and I find i have to scoop the armhole by 1/4 - 1/2". Enjoying all your collaborations 💜 - Patty
I am already planning another version in a flowier, brighter fabric. Thanks for sharing about your experience with the armscye! I'll make a note of it for the next version!
You may be meh…. But I am YEAH!!! I Think it is so pretty and so flattering on you. Really cute with the white jeans.
Thanks Trish 💜💜. You're so sweet xo
Dang, that looks so classy on you!!! I have made 5 Rhapsodys so far. Yes, I think the fabric makes so much difference. I made the dress in a tye dye fabric from Amazon. It's soooo sweet. Rayon is by far my favorite for this pattern.
I'm definitely going to give it another try in Rayon! Thank you for your kind words Vicki 😊💜
I really like your eyelet top and I like how it stands up without the ties in the front. I bet with this smaller artsy e would make a great sleeveless version too.
Thanks Mari! Not sure what "smaller artsy e" is supposed to be? Assuming auto correct strikes again haha!
Arm scye
@@bkayepokrant9084 That's it 😊
You look amazing with the top. Regarding the armpits may be is related to the type of fabric. I use cotton lawn for mine. I love the rhapsody top. The pattern has a 70’ vibe that I love. Try one using your beautiful ice dye fabrics.
Thanks Isabel! The style is definitely something I'm drawn to. I'll try it with some different fabric next time for sure!
I’m loving the Rhapsody blouse and I think it looks very slimming on you! Just my opinion but I like it👍
Thank you so much 😊💜
I made this blouse with full length sleeves in double gauze and it has been a summer wardrobe staple. I really think its the colour that you aren't thrilled with. The eyelet is a good pairing with the pattern but not saturated with colour. You can fix that 😉.
Oooh - making it in double gauze sounds fab! Yes, I agree, it's the color that is the issue for sure. I'll definitely make another in a more "me" fabric 😊💜
Michelle, I think you need more color in your top. It looks beautiful on you, but the color is definitely subdued from what you normally wear. Try it again in either a deeper color or just a print. I think you will be much happier with it. 😊❤
I totally agree! I'm definitely going to give it another try - thanks Maureen!! 😊💜
I wish you liked it more because it looks really really cute on you! Maybe a brighter fabric would be more exciting!! Great review! Thx!
Hi Ann and thanks! I definitely think a brighter color/ something with a fun print would make a difference - I'm going to give it another go 💜😊
i have to say: think it looks beautiful on you. in the twirl, it looked like it fit well...it does look different from a lot of your favorites. Not sure how to explain (excuse me if this sounds off) A lot of your makes seem to be vivid, bold, and/or cheeky but this one looks delicate and classic-calming. Neckline is a keeper definitely
Thanks so much for your thoughts - I agree, I think the shape of the top is nice - but the fabric is too boring. I'll definitely give it another try! 😊💜💜
So I had the same feeling about the arm holes and decided it was actually because I needed a full bicep adjustment. So instead of altering the sleeve pattern piece I printed out the next size of sleeve and eased it in. It worked perfectly and I have no more tight feeling in the arm holes!!
That's interesting because the sleeve doesn't feel tight. But I will give that a try! Thanks for the suggestion!
The top really looks good on you. Definitely should make it again. Also think you should get another pair of white pants to dye so that you can have one pair that is white
White jeans are way too dangerous in my life haha! I'm too messy! Thank you for the kind words Connie!! 😊💜
I agree with everyone it's because it's not colorful! I totally love it! Maybe dye it a darker purple when you do the white pants?😊
Hi April - yes, I agree, the color is the issue. I thought about dyeing it but all of my dyes are for natural fiber fabrics and this is mostly polyester. I'd have to buy new dye - which isn't out of the question haha!!
I felt the same way about my rhapsody. Mine was in rayon and the tops of the v just flopped over.
Glad to hear I'm not alone - so many people LOVE it!
@@MichelleSewsAgain it’s growing on me. But my next one I will try to do with a facing and the little piece that goes across the v.
It is so pretty! This is my favorite top pattern of all time. I have seven so far using different sleeve options. I do like to use soft, flowy fabrics. Looking forward to tomorrow's collab!!!
Thanks so much Lavada! So good to hear that this is your favorite top and that you've made so many! I am convinced to give it another try in a brighter, flowier fabric 😊💜💜
Hi Michelle - I have been enjoying your makes so far this month for sewpurple challenge. I just finished my first Rhapsody blouse. I actually liked it a lot. I did make it in a purple and blue viscose fabric. My Mom really liked the fabric and top on me especially the hemline. She thinks it is flattering. So maybe a fabric with more drape and adjusting the fit a little would be more comfortable and you would like it better. I plan on making another one again in a Rayon. Looking forward to future videos. Take Care!
Hi Janiece! I agree - I think a different fabric would make me like it better 😊. I'm so glad you are enjoying the purple videos!!!
I think it looks really good on you and I agree with a lot of people it’s the color that is not you.
Thanks Sandy! I agree - the color is the issue 😊. I will give it another try in something more colorful!!
Lots of good tips today! Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
I love the top on you. Great fit and the soft pastel lilac is a a lovely colour on you. I know you like the stronger tones but honestly the lilac looks great. Try it again in a stronger coloured drapey rayon. I made a chalk and notch fringe dress in a similar striped embroidered fabric and felt really meh in it it - a cross between pyjamas and a nurses uniform. I think some patterns just need stronger colours or drapey fabrics. I have the rhapsody pattern but not made it yet. Honestly this one was a win.
Hi Sarah - I'm definitely going to give it another try in something drapier and brighter! I think the fit is good (except for the underarms, which is fixable) so I do recommend the pattern! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💜😊
I think the top looks really cute on you.
Oh thank you!💜😊
Michelle, I think the blouse looks great! Although I think the color looks great on you, you would probably like it better if it was a more vibrant color😊.
Thank you so much Elaine Marie! I agree that it looks nice - but I would definitely prefer it in something more vibrant 😊💜
Michelle - I had the same exact feeling and comments as Lynn Shepard below. I've very much enjoyed your makes and have applauded you every time I see you because clearly you are being successful at loosing weight. I myself have just lost 30 lbs and the kinds of garments I really liked at my higher weight feel slightly frumpy on me now. I can't explain it any other way because I too like loose and comfortable even now. I don't think it's the fabric which is lovely, it might be the length overall or the gathers coming from the shoulders. In other words the style. I'm short so my fix on another garment that felt this way was to crop it and it made a world of difference. I don't think the Rhapsody would look great cropped though and you are taller so maybe you are still to find a fix that works good for you! Keep on keepin on though Michelle! Love your stuff.
Thanks Barbara! Congrats on the weight loss - it takes a lot of work and dedication - you're awesome!!
I think it looks lovely!
Thank you so much!
Hi Michelle! I love your top! I'm wondering if the lighter color is contributing to the "meh" as your usual projects are very bright and cheerful colors? I do think that a flowy fabric would suit the pattern best. Either way, I think you did a fantastic job and it's beautiful.😊I've definitely made garments and felt blah and unhappy with them even though they look and fit good enough to wear. I chalk it up as having gotten more experience. Thanks so much for this fun collaboration and for your kind comments. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your makes this month! Have a great holiday weekend!
Hi Angela! I agree, I think the lighter color is my issue. I do love the fit and how easy it was to put together! I will try a flowier, brighter fabric next time 😊. Thank YOU so much for partnering with me and for suggesting this pattern!!
I was going to comment and then read Lynn's sweet note. What I was going to say is maybe a full bicep adjustment would help? I think you look beautiful in the blouse. You should definitely make the pattern again, if you're not tired from this you ALZ project.
Thanks for the tip - would a full bicep adjustment help with the armscye being tight? It's not the sleeve itself that is tight. Sorry, I'm not well versed in fitting fixes 😊. Thanks Kathy!
This is a very helpful video. I think your top looks lovely but if it is going into your armpit it must feel uncomfortable and meh.I have made the ballad blouse by love notions and have printed out the pattern for the rhapsody. I notice the higher looking armscye and it stopped me cutting it out. I asked in the help group if it was high and no one answered so your video confirming my suspicious has saved me some fabric! Hate seams up in my armpit! Now to find a video showing me how to fix it 😁
I'm so glad you found this helpful! I still think I might make another one but also need to find that video on how to fix the armscye 🤣. If you find it - let me know!!
The blouse looks really good on you. Drapier fabric might make a difference. I haven’t made this yet though I have the pattern, but soon I will. Love Notions is my TNT pattern company.
Hi Diane - yes, I believe drapier fabric in a brighter color will make a difference - I'll definitely give it another try!
I have three Rhapsodies. My favorite one is made of an super soft crinkle cotton, and my least favorite is made of a poly cotton blend that has the most body. I encourage you to try a different fabric because this style looks really nice on you. And for what it’s worth, I did end up raising the sleeve cap height on my Rhapsody pattern. My first one was in a plaid and wow did that plaid ever angle up like the sleeve cap didn’t have enough height. My crinkle cotton one was made with the sleeve adjustment so that may also affect how much more comfortable it is to wear. I really do love my Rhapsodies.
I’m sure the sewing police are going to come and arrest me, but if the armscye is too high (cutting into your underarm) have you considered scooping out a little of the lower armscye seam, like one might do with pants? The only reason I’m suggesting this is because that top is just too lovely not to wear. And I cannot believe what a great match you had with that bias tape!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and experience Nadine! I'm definitely going to make another one in a drapier and brighter fabric. I will also scoop out some of the lower armscye - the sewing police don't have to wear it so they don't get a say haha!!
It looks great on you. I've had issues with the arms. Ii would be beautiful in a rayon
Rayon next time for sure!! Thanks Stephanie 😊💜
I think the top is actually lovely on you. PS I have also made a couple of things that I just feel meh about!
Thanks Michelle 😊. I think everyone is right - it's the subdued color that is getting to me! I'm going to try it again 😊💜
The blouse really is very attractive looking on you Try with another fabric
Hi Vickie - I've definitely been convinced by everyone to give it another try 😊. Thank you!! 💜
I have that exact same fit issue at the back armseye...
Interesting! You don't hear about that much in many reviews. Thanks for sharing!
Love the top, I agree with everyone in the comments, it's the color. Not bold enough for you.
You all know me so well 😊😊.
I have so many problems with woven tops with set in sleeves. If you can do a tutoral on how to fit that it would be great
If I can figure it out I will haha!
Hello Michelle. I too made this blouse and I too found the arm fit small. I think I made a size 10 or 12. I was disappointed as well. I think there are nicer blouse patterns like the Roscoe blouse. your fabric is very nice.
Hi Denise - thank you for letting me know about the Roscoe! I have heard of it - what do you like better about it??
@@MichelleSewsAgain I think the the better question is what do I not like about it. I love it. No buttons just the bias tie. It is a dress pattern as well and would look amazing with a belt. I would like one in every viscose fabric. I have made it in a crinkle light weight cotton and I love that as well. Love the sleeve cuff.
That pattern is so versatile. I like your top with the sleeves.
Thanks Deb 😊💜
It's beautiful on you Michelle.
Thank you so much Sue 😊💜
Love that Rhapsody top on you. Fabric is beautiful and I like the no ties neckline. Maybe you don’t like it so much because you are used to wearing bright colors. It looks great on you!
Thank you so much Sue! 💜😊
I love your shirt and it looks great on you! I think you may not like it because it’s not a vibrant color and that it is solid and doesn’t have a pattern in the fabric. But, it does look good on you!!!
Thank you Andrea! I agree, I think that is the issue as well 😊. I do love the fit (other than the arm holes)!!
I agree with the fit. I’ve made the same top and have to same issue with the fit in the arms. Great top otherwise.
Good to know I'm not alone!! Thanks for sharing 😊💜
The style suits alot but its very pale i think you it might be better in a brighter color i myself cannot wear pastels but a good make
Thanks Robyn! I agree - a brighter color will be better 😊💜
Hello I actually like the blouse but I get that feeling that you’re having ‘cause I have that with a couple of tops that I’ve made one being the laundry day tee. I have made three of them one being purple that I’ll post once it’s hemmed. I wear the ones I made just not getting the look I expected. when it comes to those full bust pieces I still have to do a full bust adjustment. With the laundry Day tee I had extra fabric on the side of my boobs and with the classic tee I had pulling across the front of my breast. My next pattern I’m trying is the itch to stitch Montana I have a purple check I’m making that out of. My first one I will see how her cup sizes work. Happy national sewing month 🧵 ✂️ 🪡
Hi Tonie - that's interesting about still having to make an FBA on "full bust" patterns! So disappointing though. I don't think that's my issue with this one but I'll keep it in mind if I try any of those that you've mentioned. I'm thrilled to hear you are making a couple of purple garments for the challenge!! Happy national sewing month 😊
@@MichelleSewsAgain The full bust adjustment never bothers me because I always have to do it’s just when I look at myself in that blouse I just go 🤷🏾♀️and I’m never really excited about it. I’m enjoying sewing for this cause as my uncle who raised me have the same thing happen to him. And I had some purple in my stash.
I frequently don't like an item I've made until a few days have passed - what's that about?! But I think you're missing a more vibrant colour. The blouse itself looks lovely, maybe give it another go in a brighter colour and tweak the armscye.
You have such a lovely name Catriona! That's interesting that it takes you a few days to warm up to your makes haha! I agree with you, I think if the color were more vibrant I'd be much happier. All of you ladies have convinced me to give it another go! Thank you!!
It;s a lovely top, but I think it’s too lacking in colour for you. I love the fabric, we call it Broderie Anglaise. I made a Rebecca Page Olivia top from navy (my preferred colour) cotton BA and found the BA too stiff, made another with jersey BA and it’s a game changer, sooo much better for a draper fabric, but then I love sewing stretch fabrics!
I think if this fabric had been cotton, I might have liked it better - but I do think the subtle color is too light for me. You ladies know me so well!! 😊💜
I think the issue isn’t the pattern, it’s the lack of color. I don’t think that pale lilac does anything for you and it’s not really your style. Imagine the top in a bright bold print. I bet you’d love it. Edit: I see I am late to the party as usual. 😂
Haha - the color being the issue definitely seems to be the consensus!! I might try dyeing it but it's mostly polyester so I'll need to get some synthetic dye.
I have the pattern, I have not made it….which I can say for 80% of what I have. I think the style is “you”, the fabric is not. Not bright enough…make it again is a “Michelle “ fabric!😊
I think you nailed the problem Kim 💜. I will definitely give it another shot in a brighter fabric 😊. THANKS!!
Perhaps because it is a white top and not coloured like you usually wear.
Yes Sharon - I think that is the issue - I'm definitely going to give it another try!
Love the shirt. You are a colorful girl, thats why you aren't into it.
Yep - that is the issue for sure! I'm going to give it another try 😊
I think you look beautiful in the top! It’s a gorgeous fabric, I think it’s just not bright enough for what you like, maybe maybe knot, I think it’s gorgeous on you though, nice job with the bias binding x
Thanks so much Adam! I do like the fit, but the color is definitely the issue. I'm going to give it another try in something drapier and brighter 😊💜
