I've been playing since about 1993 and i came here. I play all sorts of complicated original stuff and improvise but stopped learning others songs by ear. Thanks for being here for those who forget how to walk!
Hey Marty how you doing? well I learnt this song within a week thanks to you and now I can actually play one of my old time favourites I can even sing over this I have been practicing guitar just over a year now and can play a few tracks already and thanks to such as you I can play this song, I cant thank you enough man! your brilliant teacher and guitarist!
Okay, been working on that pattern and changing chords for about five days and I'm already starting to get it! Not up to tempo, but I'm feeling good! Thanks, Marty!
Thank you so much for all your videos. It inspired me to continue playing guitar, and I can't stop now. Always had trouble with strumming until I learned it through you. Learned this song within five minutes too, while still needing to work on my chord switching. Keep doing what you do!
Thank you man. I struggled with the strumming pattern for ages and didn't quite get the hang of it. Watched the video and 45 minutes later it just sound right!
F's were troublesome for a while. As are my B's. I did start out ignoring the E string, especially on the quick transitions. When I am trying to figure out a song, I look for your videos first. You do an excellent job of breaking things down. Thank you so much!
Read this comment first and now i understand what you mean. This is the way i want to learn to play guitar, simple methodical and repetition. Easy as pie! :D
Thanks SO much Marty! So glad i came across this channel a month ago now.. when i started it was all very easy to follow and now i can come back and actually play the track when he plays it at the end!
This was my first rhythm song I learned. My advice put a metronome on 120 when practicing. Also you wanna do hammer ons for the a minor and c. Good luck!!
Marty, another great lesson. I was playing it DDDDU DUDDU DUDDU DUDDU. I knew something was wrong but it sounded OK. From now on I am coming to you first. Your strum sounds way better to my ear. You are a great teacher.
Thanks much for this vid. I am teaching myself this song on tenor ukulele, and I had the chords already, but the instruction on the strum pattern was very valuable.
this is the 1st song ive started to learn, ive got the chords down and the rhythm, just bloody hard putting them together, but im getting there slowly :)
Awesome job Marty! I have been struggling with getting my rhythm dialed in and this is just great for that. You make everything so attainable man. Keep up the great work!
I've been looking in on most of your free lessons. I signed up for the free tater course. Now my kids are buying me a year's subscription. Love your teaching style Marty & roll on xmas day!!!
This song was out around the same time Chuck was still a Texas Ranger. Really sets the ambiance. The kid at the computer is going back to probably 84 possibly 86 but 80 is a good guess too
@joeyjokester (xx0212) is a D7 chord (which has D,F#,A, and C). (x00210) would be a second inversion of a D7sus2. Most people wouldn't play the open A string. D7sus2 would sound better with a D in the bass (xx0210). Also, an A minor chord is made of the notes A,C, and E. There is no D#. Hope that helps.
daaam!! i got this in 2 minutes thanks to you :P friends have been asking me if i can play it ! and i thought i was going to take 2 weeks to learn it but i picked up my guitar and learnt it in about 5 minutes now i cant stop playing it thank yooou sooo much!:)
I find it very useful when you let us hear the rhythm muting the strings. The most useful thing to learn strumming patterns. You should always show it. Thank for that.
Great lesson Marty. When I teach beginners, I try to avoid the F chord at first, by transposing to another key. This song could be played with Em, C, G, D. Same song, same chord progression, but much more beginner friendly
Thank you so much for this awesome video. It really helped me to learn how to play this song. At first it was hard, but by practicing it became easier every day :)
thanks got another one down i can play almost 200 songs threw thanks to you and utube 1 year and 9 months but i have bin playing drums 38 years i wish i started playing guitar when started drums i rather carry guitar gear then drum gear lol thanks catt davis

Youre an awesome teacher thx so much for all your songs !!
A more flowing way to play the G after the C is by moving your middle and ring finger up a string and add your pinky to the 3rd fret of the E string
