Awesome song. It shows FFDPs range of talent. Not many metal bands will cover a blues song and then do a collaboration with a country artist,a blues artist and Brian May from Queen. It shows the respect they have for talented artists.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on music. Side by side musically, I agree that the Offspring original is better. However, I think think with the video I lean towards FFDP. But I am biased, being a veteran and understanding firsthand what the guy in the video is going through. Both versions are about loss, but just look at it from a different perspectives. Just my 2¢
Both versions of "Gone Away" are good, in their own way. I'm usually not a fan of covers, but 5FDP did that song justice, both musically and visually.

By the way, I just saw Queen + Adam Lambert in Concert July 2019 at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA. Brian May and Roger Taylor are still awesome, and it was an epic experience to be there. The concert was amazing.

Bryan Kline yeah he is, but KWS is pretty bad ass himself. He was like 17 or so when he made his first album and was like 19 when Blue on Black came out. They have a version without Brian May or Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the guitar work they brought brings something more to this version.

I'm with five finger is one of my favorite bands and I'm a hardcore metal head but love this band and they put on one hell of a show live if you get a chance I recommend seeing them I e been to several of their concerts and have never walked away dissatisfied lol so go see them live Mr. Alex lol
