Bridlington and Danes Dyke Van Life [Caravan and Motorhome Club Site]

- In this video we visit Bridlington Caravan and Motorhome Club Site with Claire trying to get me to quit wild Van life and go for sites with facilities like toilets and showers. Watch our adventure in our diy camper van St Christopher of Atlantis.
VAN GEAR
We use an EcoFlow Delta Max 2 with solar panels for our electricity on the road. We never have to plug into campsite electricity supplies during the summer months. You can find them here amzn.to/43Mm8CQ
We use these lights in the van amzn.to/42WVXbq - they are USB powered, last ages on a charge and they are detachable so you can take them to the toilet block at night time.
This is our trusty diesel heater which we've had zero issues with amzn.to/46fVG6i - it is very warm and extremely economical. We upgraded some of the parts which can be found here -
Fuel line amzn.to/3PDxTr5
Exhaust amzn.to/46cammI
Turret amzn.to/3PmLrH9
Drill bit for Turret fitting amzn.to/3NEEPCT
Hole Saw for Turret fitting amzn.to/3NjmR7i
Heat Proof Sealant amzn.to/3Nb40eG
Claire uses the heater in combination with this oversized hoodie which keeps her warm even in the Alps in winter amzn.to/42JG6Nf
Our water tap is USB powered, lasts ages and doesn't let us down amzn.to/46aamDN
Our sink is just a sink but works well amzn.to/445I2kb
We use 2 Jerry Cans for fresh and waste water amzn.to/3PlSQGv
These are our blackout curtains that are light weight and block the light brilliantly amzn.to/3XcCpyp
Our windows have this stuff across them amzn.to/3NDn0Uv - we keep them closed with these press studs - amzn.to/3qRqUAm
This handy humidity and temperature monitor is good for keeping an eye on the interior amzn.to/3CDw5Xi
These are hands down the best travel towels. They are small to pack and work like magic at drying us off amzn.to/3JmDjCH
When we cook in the van we use our beloved Ridge Monkey which can be found here amzn.to/3PDxa9l and my old Trangia Stove which is bullet proof. They can be found here amzn.to/3PkRRX6
We use an iPad for navigation which is awesome. We mount this over our existing radio with these mounts amzn.to/46qcYxF - they are really good and we haven't had any accidents.
The van is insulated with this insulation amzn.to/3XiVFKM - Claire is usually cold in the house but finds that she is always warm in the van.
We used this for sound deadening the van which has made it so much quieter on the road amzn.to/3Jm8EFr
CAMERA GEAR
Our footage is shot on a GoPro which we highly recommend for travel as they fit into your pocket and your footage is stabilised. These are well worth having and are way better than your phone camera. You can find these here amzn.to/3pl9pb3 - because we use external microphones we use a media mod that allows this. You can find this here amzn.to/3NCxR13
You may notice that we have really good low-light footage in our recent videos. This has been made possible with the Sony ZV-E10 camera. It's a vlogging camera with a swing-out screen and gives excellent quality images without being too big and heavy. You can find these here amzn.to/448TED2 and the lens that we use here amzn.to/3Nj1brU - the lens is extremely important for low light.
One of the problems with the Sony camera is it is stabilised as well as the GoPro so we use this gimbal when out to smooth out the shots.
We use a lot of batteries when out and about so we have added these extra batteries with chargers to our collection amzn.to/3NDVtm4
This is our tripod which is great as it doubles as a monopod amzn.to/3p3IGzW - it's lightweight and easy to carry around.
I love our camera bag, it's easy to arrange things how you want to with individual compartments, it's got a waterproof cover and you can strap the tripod to it amzn.to/3qRa0Si
We use Comica C3 wireless microphones so that you can all hear us clearly. They are a budget mic but really good for capturing dialogue as we are out and about. You can find these here amzn.to/3Nh32xF
These memory cards work really well for our 4K footage amzn.to/3Jmkj7e

Even all this time back with mk1 St Christopher of Atlantis, I love the enthusiasm which is building towards the CMCC with nods to stickers in the front window for the afore mentioned and National Trust. You two are like our twins ❤
This was a very early days video as we were getting in our stride, great coastline! 👍☀️
Cracking vlog guys... Well done you two....
Thanks mate, thanks for watching.
Just subscribed to your channel, you 2 are great , we started motorhoming 4 years and like you a little dubious about the motor home sites with all the facilities but like you I’ve become a grumpy old man and like my creature comforts.cheers and I’m staying tuned😁😁
Hello and a very big welcome to our channel. We are glad you found us!
We hope you enjoy our very informative travel videos and that they make you laugh 😂😂😂

We are so pleased. Thank you for watching 😊
Nice one---brought back many memories of Brid'.
Thanks for watching 😊
Lovely video, as usual. Thank you. Now join the Camping and Caravan Club, known as 'the friendly club'. No so restrictive, white pegs and all that malarkey. The NT is useful for parking all over the country.
Hi thanks for watching this. We didn’t realise the friendly club was more relaxed 🚐 😎
Hope you have a great day, are you out in your van?
I enjoyed that ,you two are funny Mr Grumpy and Mrs Optimism. Glad you liked Brid. That's a nice site the Caravan club sites are always good for a quiet time. Take care😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Just watched you for the 1st time, really good video and vibes from you both so I have subscribed to you and will go back and watch your previous videos 🤩👏👏

Great video, I live in brid and have done for 40 years, me and my wife go to koko regularly and it’s possibly best coffee shop in town. Just today I walked the same route you guys did from the car park into town on my way home from work. You guys showed a great part of our lovely town, thanks and glad you enjoyed it
Thank you so much for watching. We love brid and the coffee was great. It was great to visit again.
Visited Bridlington a few weeks ago first time in ages thanks for cementing my memory with your vlog.😎
My pleasure 😊
Very entertaining 👍
Thank you and thanks for watching. We had a great weekend.
Lovely vlog guys been to Bridlington many times but only recently discovered Danes Dyke 😊
We are the same, it was well worth the trip.
Love your style and pace of delivery. Along with the added humour very entertaining...😊
Thanks so much!
Andy started to look dejected at the end.. he's bending (unwillingly) to the pressure of the campsite woman. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
How are you? He loves them 🤪😍
@@Stchristopherofatlantis Im good thank you, I'm not sure he does. Maybe he is just being kind. 🤦♂
Great vlog guys! Went to Briddy when i went to Bempton Cliffs birding in my van... Gotta be grumpy when your old, as my grandad said "life's to short to be happy" 😂😂😂.... Have a new sub too 😉👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it. Bempton is nice too. You’re grandad was right 😂
@@Stchristopherofatlantis 😂 100 percent bud!!! 😂 i got some great birding in there and the site i staid on was awesome, i think i did a vid 🤔
We've subbed!
@@Stchristopherofatlantis CHEERS!!!! ❤👌
Chuff me, them sausages 😂😂😂.
Hey, If we closed our eyes… they were delicious 🌭
Have a chuffin great day! ☀️
Lovely!!! We all started somewhere. We were the same a year ago. We were completely lost though lol.
We are enjoying it. Thanks for watching.
I found your channel, and watched this vlog as I spent many a happy day of my youth at Bridlington. I found your banter regarding waste water and fresh water, childish, immature and uncalled for. It was brilliant! Such a breath of fresh air. I hit the like button and subscribed to your channel. 😘
Keep them coming.
Haha, thank you so much. We hope to never grow up!
@@Stchristopherofatlantis
I'm nearly 70 and refuse to grow up. I'm originally from the Hull area but now live in Tasmania, Australia. I miss Yorkshire so much.
We hope we are the same at 70. We travel a lot and the more we do, the more we appreciate Yorkshire. So nice to hear from a fellow Yorkshireman, I hope Australia is treating you well.
I live in a remote area on the banks of a trout-filled lake which I call my office, in the wild west of Tasmania, I love the remoteness. I’ve travelled Australia very extensively and love the Australian Outback, but nothing compares to Carver's chips and mushy peas with mint sauce from Hull Market Place or a Wendy's Waffle from Bridlingtin’s Harbour.
Brilliant, if we are lucky enough to make it to Tasmania we’ll bring you some Yorkshire mushy peas.
Those sausages looked like you laid them, even the dog thought WTF 😂
😂😂😂
Superb😊
Thanks for watching 👍
We used to have a VW T4 campervan, and always felt a bit like the poor relations when using Club sites, being surrounded by huge motorhomes and big caravans........
Thank you for a great video.
That’s how we feel. Thanks so much for watching.
PMSL about farting after 10pm loved every minute of it. Now subscribed
Hi Mick.
Welcome, Delighted you have subscribed to our adventures. We always try and make them humorous and chuck in a few facts!
Have the best sunny day ☀️
First time viewer. Great video. Subscribed.
Thank you for watching, glad to have you here.
You should of visited Thornwick bay and North Landing in Flamborough while you were up on Brid !
We’ll go back and visit those places. We once had lunch in the North Star.
We’re a bit campsite happy, only done one night wild (soft I know) but comfy! Though….. it’s getting flippin expensive.
No kids clubs or bingo 😂😂 amen 🙏🏻
APT 🐾
Claire here and I love bingo but Andy detests it.
Eyes down
Legs Eleven
Two Little Ducks (can’t think of anymore)
@@Stchristopherofatlantis 2 fat ladies 88
One it’s own number 1
(I seem to know too much 🫣)
BnM inBrid sell them gas bottles 4 for a fiver cheapest I have found this year, we go into Danes dyke every day to feed the birds and squirrels. Cannot wait for warmer weather (her indoors won’t sleep out if it’s cold) we spend a lot of time on sites around Goathland.
Ah good tip, we’ll get some of those in the van.
Do love your dry humour, however, you are right we are being ripped off! Try pub stopovers !
Hey happy Friday.
I think one of my favourite stop overs was in a little pub. We had a great time and it was called The Little Mill at Rowarth and would recommend. We made a vid and had breakfast in a lay-by 🥴😂
Oh we have so much in common - as much as I thought I'd not like the CAMC, well, it just works. I spent last weekend attaching my Caravan and Camping Club, National Trust and English Heritage windscreen stickers just generally getting cross because they were different sizes and colours. It won't do!
Ha yes we do. They need to have a sit down and standardise their kit 😂
@@Stchristopherofatlantis That's it an ISO standard - it's not a lot to ask.
😂
If you need the toilet ever, don't go to Bridlington. Stayed at the south cliff Touring Park site. Visited the town, had a couple if pints and a meal and walked back along the sea front back to South Cliff, not one public toilet open, along the 2 mile beach side walk. What a way for the council to attract visitors to Bridlington.
We didn’t notice because we had a coffee. I wonder if there are any public toilets?
Just found you and subscribed. I love your natter and sense of humour. My late wife and I were members until she passed away, I carried on for a while but eventually gave up ,too expensive and never felt comfortable on my own . Looking forward to more of your videos. Take care 🚐👍
Thank you so much for watching. We hope you have lots of great memories. Take care and maybe one day we’ll see back out there.
Poor health and age made me sell my van , that’s why enjoy watching you two and others on You Tube. Thanks for your reply 🚐👍
You’ll have to let us know where you liked to go and we’ll try to visit them.
I do understand that you may not want to do the touring anylonger, but saying that £3.75 per month is too expensive??? What type of monthly fee would you suggest? 20 pence??? And, what type of service would you expect from that type of payment? 🙂
I like the idea of wild camping, but we have a coach built motorhome (24 year old)so not so easy, and it's the safety and convenience issues. We do alot of C&MC sites,it's nice to have the luxuries.
Claire loved them. Good to hear you’re Motorhome is still going after 24 years. It’s obviously been looked after. Thanks for watching.
Definitely showing your age. Flock of Seagulls and Lamal 😆😆👍
😂😂 thanks for giving us a watch
Hi you make a lovely cupal did I hear you mention Blackpool iv lived on the street for nerley 6 year's in Blackpool and just been given a eviction notice to leave I'm confused eney one now can thay legally do that

Thank you, he’s a Cavapoochon
Iv'e owned the huge motorhomes as seen on your camp ... pain in the butt owning them .. i now own my own small DIY campervan like yours ... far better .. park anywhere .. go anywhere ..
I always wondered if that was the case. Ours is my daily drive and I love that I can go anywhere.
I thought the Microphone was apart of your beard
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Need to get someone else to edit the video its crap jumping from scene to scene in the cab.
Thanks for the feedback
Cancelling the Camping and Caravan Club is wise. I think they are a ripoff
