Halkey Roberts Valve: How to operate, tighten, remove and replace a Halkey Roberts Style Valve

Halkey Roberts valves are spring loaded valves that are used on various kayaks, Inflatable S U P S, and park components. Press and twist the inner piston to open and close. When the piston is deeper in the valve, it is open. When the piston is higher in the valve, it is closed. To inflate, make sure the valve is in the closed position to avoid pressure loss when the pump is removed. Insert the hose into the valve and twist to secure. Once inflated to the recommended pressure, remove the hose and screw on the cap.
A Halkey Roberts valve tool is required to tighten, remove and replace a valve. Prior to your first use of your Aquaglide inflatable, use the included valve wrench to make sure no valves are loose. Line up the tool to the slots in the outer ring of the valve and twist to snug the valve in place. If necessary to replace the valve, line up the tool and twist to remove the valve body. To install a new valve, line up valve body to valve backer and hand tighten. Firmly snug the threads with the valve tool while holding the backer in place, making sure not to over tighten. Now you’re ready for a great day on the water.
