Great video as always. Appreciate all the data and analysis you guys put into this. I think Matt's statement "I have enough, I don't need another" sums up the state of the market. As much as it pains me, I think the ranks of swccg collectors is declining as time passes and there are fewer new collectors looking to build or complete new sets. That combined with younger generations decreasingly interested in material things and focused more on the digital experience. People my age (62) who saw episode IV in theater as a kid 12x and became star wars fanatics are entering retirement and looking to unload all of our accumulated stuff as retirement proves more difficult with inflation and challenging economic times. I treasure my complete BB sets of SWCCG (everything BB) but am currently focused on finding a way to get rid of all my star wars toys, action figures, and vintage baseball and other sports and non-sports cards. The joy is in admiring the beauty and lore of these cards as much as the memories they bring back to our younger days! Still young at heart and loving Star Wars as much as Disney tried to destroy it!
It’s interesting how for such small things, cards can take up so much space. This pales in comparison to things like action figures or other toys. I think one trend we’ll see over the next 15 years is bigger collectibles where see a higher volume of sales due to practicality - space ain’t unlimited. Thanks for your thoughts and commentary! I very much agree.
Matt, where do you live? On the wrong side of 8 Mile? I swear, every video I watch you have sirens in the background. 😆 Jokes aside, thank you both for these videos. Great as always.
😂. It’s a very busy part of DC where there’s a lot of that rabble. Trust me, it annoys me as well! Hopefully next spot will be more peaceful for me and the viewers!
If I wanted to get two decks to have so I can play with a friend, where would you suggest I go? Always been a fan of the game and want two decks that can have fun gameplay between them
If you're a total newb and want to figure out game interactions and have a fun first match up, I'd recommend the death star 2 starter decks (one light side, one dark side). These are simple and probably the easiest way to learn and can be upgraded with cards from the sets. If you're more advanced... I'd say going for something thematic. I have a few deck videos like a hoth or walkers deck. This is tough game to crack into and building the best decks is challenging to do on a budget. You can always play for free online on GEMP as well (just google gemp swccg). Welcome and i'd say dive in! I came back around five years ago and have very much enjoyed the journey!
Good stuff thanks 🍺
