actually you're right! in the beginning i thought he really defeated everyone and he was remembering it as he closed his eyes, but after reading the movie wiki page i started to see it as him dreaming, which makes the movie better. so i was wrong!

i´d rather think of this film as a mark of see the plot makes the winner not the fighter he just wins because its told so. You cant compare real fighting with acting, i would never make a guess of who is stronger Jackie chan ,Bruce lee, Donnie yen, Jet li or anyone. Each and everyone of them is unique and i love all of them. Money isnt everything dedication is far more worth and im sure each of them has it.

Every society does that. America is making some of the damn best ones though. This really is just a bad martial arts film. I had to look into who the guy was at first because he was not doing good in his movements at all.
Technically, in the film he didn't beat anyone - he was just imagining it, like any of us do when we wish we could do martial arts and go show it off. *takes notes on what to do when i become super rich* Side note - that sound sequence from "Hero" at the end when he run into the police station -nice touch!
Many Martial Arts teachers teach a watered down style - no hip action and no depth of punching - so it is easy to say that these teachers have no depth to their knowledge. You are what your teacher is, and if he knows a lot, you should be able to demonstrate this knowledge. Many thinks that Jack Maa has done this movie just to satisfy his ego, but does the world knows that this guy is not only a business tycoon, he is also one of the most prominent and most complete Kyukushin fighter of his time. The world only knows about his career but not too much about his philosophies and his past accomplishments, Jack Maa has clearly demonstrated that the chinese culture is indeed one of the most powerful and he is proud of his roots. I love this movie.

Technically, in the film he didn't beat anyone - he was just imagining it, like any of us do when we wish we could do martial arts and go show it off. *takes notes on what to do when i become super rich* Side note - that sound sequence from "Hero" at the end when he run into the police station -nice touch!

Many Martial Arts teachers teach a watered down style - no hip action and no depth of punching - so it is easy to say that these teachers have no depth to their knowledge. You are what your teacher is, and if he knows a lot, you should be able to demonstrate this knowledge. Many thinks that Jack Maa has done this movie just to satisfy his ego, but does the world knows that this guy is not only a business tycoon, he is also one of the most prominent and most complete Kyukushin fighter of his time. The world only knows about his career but not too much about his philosophies and his past accomplishments, Jack Maa has clearly demonstrated that the chinese culture is indeed one of the most powerful and he is proud of his roots. I love this movie.
