Yeah I know a few people who do both and they have said that ice skating is harder at the start but easier for comp level But well done for giving it a go I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it if you try again
I do recreational ice skating and tried roller skating yesterday. It didn't take very long to pick it up (probably 15-30 mins), it's just a bit different for weight distribution.
so basically i’ve been skating for maybe 2-3 months and i love it but i’ve always just been using foot when picking my feet up when skating so i barely have any control on the left foot and the crossovers are mostly the hardest for me so i just make a l with my feet when turning so these tips helped! tysm! ❤❤
Translating rollar skating into figure skating Bubbles - swizzles 1 foot hold - 1 foot glide Baby jumps - two foot hops Crossovers - (in figure skating you do them on a circle without switching feet) Nice job by the way!
@@sofi_thebeauty Yeah, it's not that hard. I was out of it for about 12 years and it took me a couple of weeks to get back what I knew. And then I added more to it, so I'm in a good spot with my quads. Just keep practicing at it. Learn more and get yourself to a point where you don't even have to think about it.
Not me doing roller blading for 4 years straight and having. 2 year gap between it and I still know how to jump over a bycical with them it's just easy once u get the hang of it
do you consider it strange to wear the protection pads? (helmet, elbows, knee pads, etc.) because i wanna start skating but i don’t want to end up breaking something because i’m not using the pads! but i also don’t wanna look stupid
I just got roller skates been practicing them inside my friend ahe said they arent good outside (tore me apart) but i still wanna do it cant yet cause its rainy weather 😅
The baby jumps are to high you have to do them low so beginners don't fall bc I compete in freestyle roller skating so don't jump high when your a beginner
All the haters in the comments section. 🤦♂️🤣 Go find something positive and useful to do with all that negative energy. I bet all the haters are the same people you see in the roller rinks, holding on to the side walls, so they don't fall down and break something negative OR they are the super annoying kind who impede the flow on the floor, for all of us experienced people! 🤗🤗
You make it look so easy... can you do a video with a beginner trying out all these first time and the progression and their tips?
Bubbles - snake pattern
Cross overs - runs
Baby jumps -2 foot jumps
One foot hold - balancing on 1 leg
This is just what I call it
It doesn't matter who calls it what. I got the idea of what she was saying, too.
Her crossovers weren't runs because runs is when you slide instead of step@@Jasminewaughman
@@Bonny013 yeah sorry that's my fault
@@dave_daveyu have to call it the right things if yu do actually roller skating if yu do comps and ye
i do figure skating, and let me tell you they look so similar, have all the same moves but as soon as i got on roller skates i nearly died

In figure skating we call the bubbles pineapples 💕 Nice to know I have at least one transferable skill. I’m so nervous.
Started to learn 3 days ago and I’m able to move forward. I’ll try these out tomorrow:) or maybe just one or two. :D
this is so cool! could you do it but for the skates with four wheels in a row/thin line? ❤
Inline skates - you can do all of these with both, most skills are transferable
This is so simple and so helpful ❤
Thank you for the information 🛼
Omg Thanke you the last two were so helpful ❤❤❤

Love this video I hope to teach my son one day, (already taught my other son) :D
Tried baby jumps. Landed on my butt. Was kinda fun, will try again 😂
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I'm just going to break my face if I try the crossover 😂
im gonna break my leg if i do this😭😭
That's why you have to practice. Go somewhere quiet and small, with no one around and do these and learn them in your own time.
@@dave_davei already did. a week ago i learned to do all of this.

Where do you find outdoor wheels?
I’ve heard people call the first one bubbles, lemon drops, swizzles, and O-drills.. idk what to call them anymore 😭

You might just need to change the wheels for outdoor!
👍
I was in a coma for 6 days straight because I followed this video

Hello friends chai pe lo
Crossovers never work for me. I think my thighs are too big? What am I doing wrong?
Try to bend your moving legs knee a little more and then try catwalking and practicing doing that a bit
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Please teacher IM okay😢
I am sick and I don’t know any of those they’re hard and I I’m trying to bubbles but hurting myself
i have inside skates sooo
Guys? Is it normal that my roller skates only have 1 thing?? Like the things for sliding
Why does everyone forget about learning how to balance
My derby coach always called bubbles lemon drops😭
