a persons hair can be thin/fine and healthy too, for years i didnt bother to grow my hair out because it was fine and people automatically would conclude that it was 'unhealthy'. not everyone has this type of hair, its genetics- i think that in the black community people really need to realise this, otherwise does it mean only people with a certain type of hair should be allowed to grow it out? just food for thought is all.

It’s honestly rare to find silk presses on 4c hair on UA-cam. I’m wondering if women with 4c hair just don’t go to stylist for silk presses or if salons can’t work with that hair type and turn them down?
I’m not sure but yes you really have to have a good understanding naturalhair to handle the 4C with care
I have super thick 4c hair and they work great for me but ONLY if I get it styled by a professional. If I do it myself it's frizzy the next day.

She really didn’t cut that much. That was a standard trim.
You see how her hair is really long & healthy? It’s because she doesn’t have all that extra dead hair on the bottom 😬😬. My hair is the same length because of cutting or trimming to get the perfect Afro . Don’t b scared of the scissors 😭😂, she legit trimmed a inch & a half .

It’s 4c hair . I have the same texture of hair . When our hair is blowed out it isn’t as kinky . But 4c hair jus means more thick and kinky . I have 4c hair and it looks like this blowed it correctly

I stay in the south so it depends lol, but the weather is great currently since we’ve hit fall so I’d say 2 weeks 😊

I always have an issue where I feel like my 4c hair doesn’t come out looking like the videos when I try the silk press myself. I still have puffy roots. What heat temp would you recommend on a babyliss? Thanks!
K Walker After you Blowdry, make sure that your scalp is completely dry because if it’s still damp, it can cause puffiness. Make sure you get as close as you can to your roots too when flatironing. It depends on my clients hair that determines the heat for me because some clients hair can handle more heat then others, but on most occasions I use like 410 up to 420. The main work is in the Blowdry so that all you’ll have to do is one pass with the flatiron to keep your hair safe. I hope this helps😊❤️
Krissypoo HairView omg yes it definitely helps!! I get so lazy with blow dryer because I am telling myself that I am applying too much heat on it + the flat iron. I will try what you said and crank up the settings. I was using around 350 or whichever that is on the Babyliss but I will crank it up some more to have better results. Much appreciated!!!!!

I live in CO and the hairstylist put a protein treatment in my hair. I dont know if it was the treatment or the heat, but my hair wouldn't revert back to curly. All the straight hair broke off. Ended up cutting it all off and starting over.
I can’t say for certain, but from the way it sounds, she might’ve put too much protein in. Too much protein can cause the hair to be too hard and snap off. Then they also have different types of keratin treatments, they said that they’re not chemicals but the acidity is so strong to where it can form into a natural chemical that causes the curl to change. I know brands like the chi enviro, and the naked treatment are some to name. If the stylist is not taking the proper steps and it can damage the hair.

friedchicken892 KeraCare clarifier in the blue bottle is good to cleanse the hair, and I would follow up with a moisturizing shampoo, Design Essentials Honey Creme Moisturizing shampoo. I depends on what state your hair is in if your need to go in with the clarifier(if there’s a lot of oil build up). If your hair is dry, I recommend just going in with the moisturizing shampoo. I love to use the KeraCare Humectant Conditioner as a regular conditioner and Deep Conditioning.
@@KrissypooHairView THANKYOU SM! I think I might need a clarifier since I suffer from dandruff. ( I need to oil my scalp more lol). So kera care is the way to go. I just decided to invest in hourglass tension rollers because my hair is REAL thick and long and I find my blow drying technique needs some work but it takes so long lol.
The rollers are good too, it’ll last longer since you’re setting your hair in wet state
I'm getting my first silk press today and I don't know how to wrap my hair 😭 is there other ways I can preserve my hair at night so it keeps its bounce and straightness?
I tell my clients that the wrap doesn’t have to be perfect just as long as you can get it in a circle lol. Also you can put a few pin curls that’s a great way as well 😊

erasure965 erasure965 In my experience and personal opinion. It’s the same as flat ironing. But when you compare a Flatiron on Relaxed hair vs Naturalhair, the Flatiron on the Naturalhair leaves a more Silkier Feel. Naturalhair becomes very light, soft, and silky when Straightening.

It's the products. Silk press usually use a heat protection or a post straightened shine, infused with silk that gives that extra reflective look on the hair

How long does a silk press usually last on 4c hair?
It depends on the upkeep and season to me. Usually on average two weeks. If it’s cold weather it can last up to a month
What kind of hair straighteners is that?? You only need to do it over once where’s I have to do each part 3 times or more.....someone tell where to get those hair straighteners?? Don’t like smoke though scared me then thought it would catch fire
