There is a similar expression in English to mean a situation is going to get worse: the shit is about to hit the fan!
How about "daddeln" ? :D
Which basically means "to play video games" and stuff~
I'm not German but this is the first one I could think of beginning with the letter 'd' dummkopf or dumkopf. I'm not too sure how you spell it
Wenn du digga gesagt hast, dachte ich HEYYY NIGGA WHATS UP
Auf Englisch "dicke eier" ist "blaue eier"
blue balls. :D
Here is some slang from Detroit:
"They look hit" or "they look busted" - both mean the same thing: that person looks bad (but not like, they are an ugly person. It means specifically that they haven't taken care of themselves).
"Digga" is actually from "Dicker" just written like you speak it in slang and so its like you buddy but not a substitute. Its an own invention of the german language. XD
We're not the chineese and copy or substitute. We invent our own things. XD peace guys !
I swear your hairstyle changes from video to video!
Dick would be better translated as thick. It's pretty much the same word, like dünn / thin. Big and fat both work though, was just wondering why you didn't say thick.
Also, I have never heard of "Dorfmatratze" before, but as soon as you said it, I knew what it meant. In English, we say "village bike" (because, everybody gets a ride). I hear "digga" all the time though. My old boss at Call A Pizza even used to say it.
pt 2
"Kick rocks" "Go kick rocks" or "Kick rocks round the block with no socks" - get out of here. You wouldn't usually use it to talk about yourself, unless you're being bitter ("well I guess I'll just kick rocks, then"). You could also say "high step out of here" or "get to stompin"
"That's bogue" this has LOTS of uses, but I mostly hear it to mildly comment on someone's bad or ungenerous behavior ("She said I couldn't use her car, even though I let her use mine" "well that's bogue")
I am never going to sound that good... :/ my accent is a joke when i try to repeat what you say. What accent do you have?
By the way, all these slang phrases - are they used all over Germany? Or is it used more in some areas than others?
Dumpfbacke was also the translation for 'pumpkin' as Al's nickname for Kelly in "Married with children"
Dumpfbacke? :D:D:D
Al Bundy calls his daughter Kelly like this all the time!
Haha, in English slang, to have "big balls" means to have a lot of courage (Mutig).
Because only teens use this kind of slang... just go ahead and keep saying it.
Ich gucke das als DeutscheXD Zu witzig!
I watch to this video. I'm from Germany. Funny!
Äh…an alle die Deutsch und Englisch beherrschen, wenn ich auf englisch sagen will: als Deutsche, benutze ich dann as? Oder was bedeutet als? PLEASE HELP ME! BITTE HELFT MIR.
Ach scheiße! Der war ein mit Land....
English version - Ah damn, I shart myself.... [lit: that was one with land...]
"Chasing skirts" is cute, but it's a very dated expression.
Good laughs! Some of those i hadn't heard for at least ten years!
why the hell am i watching these at 3 in the morning???
I wish all this stuff was on my German test tomorrow...
lol deutsch ist echt ne komische sprache xD unsere redewendungen sind fürn arsch haha
omg keep making such videos pls!
they jus replaced N wit D in digga lol
Digga actually derives from Dicke or Dickerwhich in turn derives from dick. So no they didn’t just replace the n in the n word with d, dummkopf
..You should have included ,,Drahtesel´´ (,,Wire-Donkey´´) for ,,Bicycle´´,which is also a very known Description..
Geht mir genau so
du musst was drinne haben wenn die Vidios kuks
Could you please put all of these slang words in writing somewhere so I could study them? Vielen Dank!
Schon mal was von "Duschlampe" gehört? :P
