Filet-O-Fish Burger
*Sauce
1 Shallot (chopped)
3 Cornichons (chopped)
1 Garlic Clove
Dill (small Bunch)
Capers (3 Tsp Chopped)
1 Tsp Onion Powder
1Tsp Black Pepper
3 Tbsp Mayonnaise
2 Tsp Dijon Mustard
2 Tbsp Cream Cheese
Half Lemmon (juiced)
*Bater Mix
2 Cups Plain Flour
1 Tsp Salt
1Tsp White Pepper
1 Tsp Baking Powder
Half Can of Beer
2 Brioche Buns
2 Reff Cod Filets
Vegetable Oil
2 Slices American Cheese

Fyi the reason they put the tartar sauce on the bottom is so they can put the cheese on top and the heat goes up better than down and melts the cheese a bit better, if you put the sauce and cheese the sauce cools the fish down too fast to melt

Never thought of putting cream cheese in tarter sauce, at all. I do like fish sandwiches, but I refuse to ever eat anything from McD ever again for what they put in the food. Yes they steam the buns and yes they like little pillows.. try wrapping in damp paper towel, might work as well.. those look so much more tasty and better then the original version!

It was the BEST, and it is exactly what Maccas use on their Fillet O Fish burgers.
I’m pretty sure it was in their contract to Kraft to no longer sell it retail, so they have it exclusively.
It was a sad day… no tartare comes close.

Just a question. Do you ever use bread crumbs for any of your dishes instead of flour for breading. For fried chicken I mixed them both together. I also just use milk and egg to coat the chicken parts and then roll in the bread crumb/flour mixture. Yours looks much better.
