I haven’t curled my hair in many years (I last did it with my grandma back when I was in elementary school) and we used the old curling rollers lol. You literally just let the case heat up, rolled all of them into your hair, and waited. Always seemed like the easiest way to get them done with no effort
Same plus my hair was always hard to curl with a regular curling iron. I tried a wand for the first time years ago and never looked back. It used to take an hour at minimum to curl my hair depending on whether i was using an iron or heated curlers because of the length and just how much I have. It now take me maybe 45 minutes and I just pin the curls and let them cool and set while I do my make up or finish getting ready.

It's a little awkward to get used to because you can't feel your hair, but if you do one side of your head first with one glove on and then switch it's a little better. But the gloves give me piece of mind because I'm a klutz and would definitely burn myself all the time without them
The straightener method gives you more shine since the heat is pressing both sides of your hair, as opposed to a wand the mainly heats the inside of the curl. Idk if that makes sense, but ye.

The only time I brush my hair is when I’m getting in the shower and it is not a problem that it turns my hair into a frizz ball since the shower water will tame it. The reason I brush it before showering is to reduce the amount of hair that falls out when I shampoo and condition it. Less hair ends up in the shower drain.

I don’t like the “loose waves” you find on Pinterest and Insta on myself, I prefer them to be tight ringlets before I run my fingers through them. I have natural blonde hair so it looks so pretty that way, but kinda sad when it’s loose waves like that

It honestly depends on the type of curl you want. I see a lot of curling iron haters here, but a wand is really for loose beachy curls (unless you have tiny attachments) or glamour waves, while spiral curls are easier with a curling iron (and can also do the afore mentioned curls, just leave the lip closed). I'm partial to the marcel iron because you have more control with less kinks, but they're difficult to learn how to use. And flat irons are great for curling, but they only really do gentle curls, but they're commonly seen in the Pinterest pictures of the hair colors you love. It's a quick good looking finish that looks lovely in pictures.
I prefer my clamp curling iron because I like the tension, it gives a more uniform curl & I still have a free hand if my nose itches or my phone rings lol
This is how I learned how to use a curling iron in the 80s. It ain't hard folks. And you don't have rip your hair out. This iron can be so versatile in the way you curl. Just want volume at the roots, no problem. Just want a flip at he ends, no problem. Just wNt a little side sweep, or all over curl. No waves. This thing can give it to you. I love my curling iron. I have tried every new gadget out there. I always come back to this. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
I have a turning iron, like I press buttons and it automatically turns. I can curl my entire head of hair (nicely if I might add) in under 10 minutes, not get a single burn, and also do some of my makeup/scroll on my phone with a free hand.

The way it tapers as it goes down on most wands is definitely more natural, and a lot of them come with gloves to stop your fingers from burning!
