seen too many guys do tile and they always make a mess,, your work area is so clean and clean cut job. Awesome 👍 finish
Love that this video is literally straight to the point and no talking, just visual. Thank you!!!
Exactly what I was looking for! My tiles are the sheets, but same size. And I have the metal trim! First time seeing someone else use it. You make it look easy. I know it’s not, but this is encouraging that I can do this. Just have to figure out now how to cut the tile. I’m sure there’s a UA-cam for that!
I absolutely love this tutorial. One of the best that I have seen thus far! It easily shows us how you create the subway tile pattern and measuring. Great job!
This is excellent! Your precision is amazing and I appreciate how you filled the video.
Thank you for the great video. I am about to do backsplash in my kitchen. It looks very easy to do. Now I don't have to wait for my husband to do it. I can do this.
I just refaced my cabinet doors from walnut to white with all new hardware. I had stone mountain granite installed. I am trying to decide between waynescoat or tile. I like what you did with yours.
Did you do it? I want to do mine
Could y tell me plz what is the steps and the tools ?
Nice one. I watched this with relaxing music in the background. Great job.
Nice one mate. First time using tile trim and this has really helped.
No music!!!!! No tulking!! Jazkl khayr!! Very had to find videos like this! Good job.
Beautiful work with no mess and everything is going on so nice your skill is just wonderful to watch thank you for sharing your work with me really enjoy it 🙋♀️🙊🙉🙈🤸♂️
Did you use a grinder or tile saw to do your top row of tile and your smaller cuts? Also not using spacers does that cut down on how much grout is needed? I am attempting my backsplash and I do not want a bunch of grout lines so not using spacers seems like the way to go. Thank you in advance
Thank you so much for this great video. You make it look so easy! Preparing for a DIY subway tile backsplash for our kitchen and trying to get ideas on how to finish the edging. I like how you used the schluter profile.
Edging is a pain!
Where did you buy the schluter profile?
Home Depot
what did you use to cut them
Tile saw real slow
What bonding product you using...what thickness. Also why not using a notched trowel which I imagine would create some wriggle room when seeking to have the tiles lie in harmony to each other.
Love the video! Perfect timing bc I just fired shady workers to update the kitchen in my apt. and have decided to do it myself.
Same, I’ve saved myself £2000 just doing small jobs like this myself these past few months. Take your time and read read read.
The guy's a professional who knows what he's doing wow
A professional would at least cover the worktops before putting tools on tiles on them. Also he would use spacers and not sit the tiles on top of one another as you could see the discrepancies in the tiles.
Hi, what materials did you use to glue them on the wall and after? Thank you
Can you pls list all the products you used to achieve this? We have to install backsplash and don’t want to pay professional to do it..thanks
Azim, thank you very much for your quick response. I'll do it like that. The grey color also matches my granite countertop. You are great.
No problem thanks for watching my video. Plaese like and Subscribe
I just renovated my kitchen and need to have my backsplash done. After seeing this video I want to hire you!! Im in Boca Raton and just read you are in Florida too, but are you close by?
I was delighted to see you doing the tile work , it is very educating.
Great job. I would add to seal those holes by the outlet faceplates so that bugs don't get in there. And provide material list as well.
Great video! What are you using to cut the tiles? Thanks!
I use a tile wat saw
Thank you for perfect video for me.
Did you do on the old tiles?
Finally found a great video, thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to clean up the space between the metal edging and the painted wall. When I set the metal edge, I end up getting adhesive on the painted wall. And, there is also a slight gap between the metal edge and the painted wall. Do you caulk that gap and then cut in the wall paint around it?
Yes caulk it then paint it
Thanks for watching my video
@@AZIMBAYO1 Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate it!
Thats a shitty job look at my comment
I have never seen anyone put an edging on a wall either. He did a master at his job👍
It’s done every day
Great video 😊 I noticed you didn't use spacers , was they butted together or ldid you leave a gap by eye ? is that to keep grout lines small ?
Whats the materials used aside from small tiles? Thanks I wanna try this in our kitchen.
Was wondering why you don't use spacers? Supposedly this helps to ensure you get the proper amount of grout in between all spaces in an equal distribution. Also, no caulk around the bottom?
Some subway tile has a built in spacer. When they are stacked right next to each other it makes the perfect spacing.
Lots of pros don’t use them
That tile may have a built in lug, which means by stacking it you get 1/16th of an inch grout joint (if indeed the lugs are lined up). At that point you must use un-sanded grout. A V-notched trowel is being used which I try to only use when tile is super thin. Spacing to an 1/8th inch I feel is better because you step up to sanded grout and I feel it looks better and creates a bit stronger grout joint (could be argued that there is more grout surface area to get messy and because it’s sanded grout it more difficult to clean). Caulking is usually done where there is a change of plane (tile to tile or at the counter top after the grout has dried).
@@Thelegend-gt5lb That actually depends, for wall unless the tile has lugs it’s necessary, flooring depends on tile sizing consistency…
Aren't you supposed to use a notched trowel
A good example of how not to tile, didn't centre the tile to produce even cut edges and I didn't notice the use of a level to ensure straight v and h lines, also these brick shape tiles need 45 degree cuts when meeting a wall otherwise you can see the bevel.
Exactly, none of which he mentioned in the video. 🤷♂️
Look really straight to me. Perhaps he leveled before starting the video. If the counter and bottom of cabinets are level no need to use a level again.
Which 45 degree cuts were necessary?
I don’t like the 4th row from the corner to the light. Wondering a better way to have done that part? I guess he was red the shorter pieces to all match. Nice job but no one is perfect nowadays.
I agree 💯 percent! 👍🏿 👍🏿 👍🏿
And no spacers in-between the tile.
Hey man loved your video . I want to do my kitchen same way with subway tiles . Is this 3x6 bevel gloss or ceramic tiles . Thanks 🇬🇾
I noticed you are not leaving a gap for grout. I'm not being a critic but how's that going to hold grout? Also what are you cutting the tile with I don't hear a saw. Thanks excellent video.
he is leaving a gap, it’s a 1/16 gap that’s built in to the tile by bevels
@@LeonidasD828 rubbish! no any joint build by bevel! tiles standing on tiles and it is error.
@@misiokinsale it’s not the tiles bevel bud these tiles have a spacer built in if you install these tiles you’d know that lol
You are a pro in your job.
Beautiful work.💯💥
No he is not
Hardly 😂
The backsplash turned out gorgeous!
Great job Micky Mouse!
În sfărșit î mi place cum puneți faianță cu ciment subțire,puțin și finuț, 😊😊Cănd văd l a ALTE filmări și chiar l a mine căt a pus meseriașul m am speriat
Nice video, Do we have to first do grinding to remove the paint on the wall or it can be scrubbed by sandpaper before applying the adhesive ?
Use a drywall sanding block on the wall before tiling
You did a fantastic job thank you for this video. I'm in the process of figuring out of i want stick on tile or to really challenge myself and try this but i don't want to waste the money on tiles and supplies to goof it up....... plus i don't know how to cut tiles. 😕 any advice?
Use a tile wet saw to cut the tiles.. Take your time and plan the lay out of the tile before you start .
Thanks for watching 👍
Also are you cutting the halfs? If so how are you doing the Aris like the rest of the full tiles? Or do you just buy them with aris on them
O rejunte branco daria o acabamento perfeito.
Parabéns pelo trabalho, mas eu torcia pelo rejunte branco no final. ❤️
Excellent video...just bought a new house, need to do this.
Good work. Did you leave any space between the tiles for the grout?
Thank christ my head isn't gone.
Suggest using foam pads to protect the counter in case you drop the trowel and makes a dig mark. $5 foam pads, $150 to fix a chip.
Looks amazing. When you use the tile edging (either pvc or metal) will the tiles still sit flat against the wall or do they noticeably stick out a bit due to the fact they are on sitting on top of the edging material?
It is not noticeable.
I recommend using a 1/4 inch trowel
The edging material sits within the adhesive depth. So typically the tile does not sit proud of the others.
Why you need the edge for?
Doesn't say anything about what he uses to do that job???????
Todd
Great question this guy is a hack.
The answer is feather out the lip to nothing over say 10” or so.
How do you cut the tiles? You make it look so easy! 😊
I use a tile wet saw and an angle grinder
Thank you! I appreciate your reply.
Are able to do a video on how to cut tile? Especially cutting corners to make them fit around electrical sockets… thank you!
Nice but how do you cut them?
Congratulations on reach 1M views Bro! We are all very proud of you
Looks very good.but why there's no spacers
Great job! Loving the precise cuts
" you the man"!!👏👏👍
Thanks for watching 👍
My personal preference is for the first course of tiles to be half-tiles horizonatlly cut.
It creates a more harmonious reflection on the countertop below.
So no layout at all ? So you start with a half tile on the right, and end with a tiny piece on the left? But if you laid it out you could have 2 same size cuts.....
How do you cut the tiles? 😊
A simple 1 or 2 second shot of the cutting tool would have been helpful for many.
There are tons of other videos showing that.
With a wet saw
@@ashton8878 - An inclusive video would have shown the actual tool. Most people do not to watch multiple videos due to a simple oversight. It’s the difference between a good video and a great vid.
Id use a tile saw
Beautiful! You did a great job!
Do you not have to wait for adhesive to cure before grouting ?
Yes
Do these tiles not require spacers when laying or is it just because your advanced at doing it the reason you arent using them? Also are you not suppose to use a level on face to make sure they are flat? Or again is it just because your experienced in doing it your not doing tht, pls reply thanks
These tiles have grout joints built in. The tiles space themsleves
Great video . I’m adding back splash this weekend and I wasn’t wanting this type of tile and i was going to do a similar grout color. Are you still happy with the results?
Very nice job. One question what do you do when one side of the room the cabinets are a half inch higher than the other side of the room and the tile will be meeting in the U shape of at the sink with an opening above it. I don't think I'd like to see 1/2 inch piece on one side not the other. Does it look bad to cut the first row down an inch? I to am using 3 by 6 subway tile.
I would cut the bottom row thats the only way to get it level.
@@AZIMBAYO1 I was considering a 2" row as a starter course.
Yeah that would work 👍
@@AZIMBAYO1 thanks
Thag edge profile is very nice. Where did you buy that piece?
Home Depot
Loved watching your video! Nice job. Should a novice like me be putting spacers between the tiles?
If u like big grout lines then u can use spacers.
Thanks for watching 👍
Thx. No other reason to use spacers? If not, I’ll skip using them.
MUY BUEN TRABAJO,,,YO TAMBIÉN HAGO ESE TRABAJO,,,,Y ME GUSTO COMO TE KEDO,,,,FELICIDADES!!!!!
What’s the cutter used for cutting the tiles? Glass cutter?
A tile wet saw
Excellent. And you didn't tile over the switch and receptacle. I had to replace a GFI outlet that someone tiled over. Us lefties are sticklers for details.
So you just tiling on top of the drywall?
Would you start in the corner of the L shaped area of the backsplash with the subway tile to make sure the corner is matched up properly and the two ends have the short pieces if necessary. Using 3x6 tiles.
Let me borrow your skills & patience for a few months so I can renovate 4 bathrooms and a kitchen in our place. 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Same 🤣
I highly recommend putting plastic down on the stone countertop to prevent potential scratches etc
What is that straight grey thing called that you put on the edges? Looks good nice video
Nice iob, cover countertop. Never want to ruin it
No spacers between bottom course of tile and counter top ? No room for a caulk joint ! But I assume you will grout it and it will crack and fall out considering there is no joint for the grout to fill in
Nice! What tile edging did you use to finish of the sides?
I used a plastic edging to finish the tile. Schluter Systems Rondec 0.375-in W x 98.5-in
How do you secure the plastic edging?
With the tile adhesive
@@AZIMBAYO1 Great, thanks.
Like it very much aap ne yeh mention Kiyun nahin kiya ki aap tiles ko install karte waqt jo paste k liye materials use kiya woh kiya hai or tiles ko paste karne k baad bhi kuch use kiya plz woh bhi name k saath describe kijye Thanx work very nicely I appreciate
Do you set tile on drywall or hardback? If hardback does it go all the way to the ground? Thanks.
For kitchen backsplash
I usually install over drywall
These don’t require spacing?
Thank you for this video, may I ask you what size of the metal bracket did you use on the side of the tiles?
1/4 inch metal edging
@@AZIMBAYO1 Thank you for your prompt reply, or 5/16? But how to measure it for regular porcelain tiles?
LOOKS AWESOME; AND YOU DID AN AWESOME JOB!
THANKS;
Thank you for watching 👍
If I’m doing a u shape backsplash where should I start? Should I just see if a row of full tile makes it across the bottom then go off that?
Find where the centre point is on the wall and draw a vertical line, start in the middle of the tile or either side of the line...this way it should give you equal cuts at either end..👍
Great job, great video, amazing work.
Nice video and enjoy it without talking. But I didn’t see how to cut the ties.
Wow! this one is really nice.
Thank you so much for a great video, good job
Thanks for watching
What depth tile trim did you use? What I mean is, my subway tiles are 7.5mm deep in the middle and 5mm at bevelled edge, so on the 5 tile rise of my cooker splashback, I have some half tiles (edges of 7.5mm) and some at 5mm regular bevel edge. How do you chose which trim depth?? I've tried both depths and of course, one always looks weird against the misfit tile
I used 1/4 inch edging, and it did look off where the half tile meet the trim.
You can try using a pencil tile edging find one that matches your tile.
THANKS FOR WATCHING
MY VIDEO☺
Cut the bevel off all the ends. All tiles will be same thickness where they meet the trim, problem solved.
Can't see what you are using to cut the tile. Besides that, good video. Helpful! Thanks!
I Used A MK Diamond 370EXP Tile Wet Saw To Cut The Tiles
@@AZIMBAYO1 thank you!! ⭐⭐⭐
Did you leave a grout line between the tile and the edging?
I just bought beveled subway tiles, would you suggest using 3x3 and 3x6 tiles? I’m afraid just cutting the 3x6 in half will make the bevel look off. Thanks! Looks great!
I would use the 3 by 6 . And remember the tile is bevel its not gona look bad if you cut it. Thats the whole point of the bevel its suppose to look uneven.
Thank for watching my video
Thank you for sharing have the same on my kitchen
How do the outlets get re-attached to the tile? They were originally screwed into the wall.
Leav the screw holes open when u tile around the out let's
Reattach the out let with longer screws
I have formica as a backsplash would I have to remove it to do subway tiles or can I tile over it
You have to remove the formica before installing the tile
i really want to do this! but what name of tile is this. cause theres flat tiles, then the kind you used with slanted edges. whats the name of them pls? also, i dont know what color grout to use, light or dark grey?
So I am wondering, you didn’t use any tile spacer here, is it because of the shape of the tile?
Very nice ❤
Nice video
Thanks for watching 👍
Nice straight lines.
Great video - will be doing mine soon and thanks
Thanks for watching
Wow great job . Should've hired you to do my subway tile.my husband hired a crack head and my tile looks like it's on crack 😤😤😤😤
Awesome job and video. Thanks
What is the name of that white thing u are putting on the wall, before u put the tiles .... Tell me please.....
Mastic tile adhesive
I need to know the exact stuff to buy and tools needed please
Great video! Thank you! What is the long vertical piece you put first along the ends of the wall?
I think? Schluter Systems Rondec 0.375-in W x 98.5-in L PVC Tile Edge Trim
Lula Mae & Danny Rae Thanks so much! Be safe!
Oddly satisfying, but equally frustrating 🤣
No spacers..does this small tile require a 1/16 spacers or not?
Am I the only one who saw that some rows weren’t central to the rows above or below? Also the trowelling lines need to all go the same way before you lay tiles on them. Full sponge contact should be used when cleaning up after grouting and only by using diagonal sweeps. Why no spacers either?
Offset or brick bond effect
