- Its time for us to part ways for a little while as Yosh is sailing Nandji 2 from Indonesia to Mauritius while Tallula and Bonita are flying to Sri Lanka for a few weeks and then on to Mauritius where we will wait for Nandji 2 to arrive.
In this episode Bonita, Averil and Tallula take you travelling to Colombo, Kandy and Sigiraiya in Sri Lanka.

what a beautiful smile you and your mother share!! how delightful to have this time for each of you. Certainly, a joy for your mom to have this time. I always look forward to seeing your off boat travels, you show local culture and local travel just the way I'd want to experience it
Bonita has done some beautiful little docos of her travels in past videos, ( prior to becoming a mother) she is a natural at showing and exploring cultures..
The tuk tuks in Bangkok would take you from rug store to jewelry store for hours and it was maddening. This was I 2000 but they are definitely a great way to get around and as you said, always learning. That’s the way when traveling in certain places. Get receipts when you pay for lodging. We had some sketchy issues with that as well.
Part of the fun is learning a new way of life which involves working out the currency and travel costs!!

❤When you are in South Africa, you must go to the Addo elephant park in Port Elizabeth. So many elephants. Some of my Family lives right next to the park. ❤

Aww Sri Lanka, I lived there for six months while working on an Asian Development Bank contract with their Ministry of Enterprise. I loved the country and the people and saw many amazing things, however driving in Sri Lanka ranked as one of the scariest places I have travelled in the world, the only other place I would say was scarier to drive was Egypt. Glad you had a good time. One thing I forgot to mention was living through a three day typhoon. Very scary, with constant winds of 200 kms/hr. I was living in Colombo in a 24 story high rise. I thought the winds were going to blow in my two bedroom apartment.

I have been to India which was very dirty and polluted in the city of Chennei, but in contrast from your video Sri Lanka is quite clean and not polluted at all. The traffic and wild driving or crazy tuk tuk experience looks exactly the same lol.

Good that you did not go to the elephant orphanage. I was taken there by my customer in Sri and found it depressing. If you have the chance visit Galle in the south. Interesting for the remnants of Portuguese and Dutch occupation.
Yes, you have to really research… I saw at the orphanage that you can bathe with them and ride them so it’s extremely unethical playing on the word orphanage.. love seeing the elephants with their families doing elephant things.

Bonita excellent video. It was very nice that Tallula and you got to spend time with your mother. Was this a last minute decision as I thought you and Tallula were sailing across the Indian Ocean as well. Maybe because you were leaving a little late in the season you didn't want to get caught up in anything weather wise. Regardless it all worked out for the best. And your mother seemed to be having a great time. I've heard mixed reviews on Sri Lanka and I am still on the fence (undecided) if I'll go. I've heard it's a POLITICAL HOT SPOT. What I've seen on your video so far it's a beautiful country. Looking forward to next video cheers
Stay safe. Always keep your money and wallets and passports all with you, and don't let them out of your sight. I'm just saying you never know when in other countries what types of people you 3 could come in contact with. Better safer than sorry. Have lots of fun.

It was an amazing adventure!! But I’m also full time solo parenting, vlogging our trip and editing all of the content, holding everything down while Yosh is sailing. It’s full on.
