Condolences to JJ’s family. I lost my 18 year old daugther 28 years ago. She was on her bycycle when she was hit by a car, A young man driving to fast lost control over his car. There hasn’t been a day when I did not think of her. You never ever get over it, but after some years you slowly learn to live with it. regards Kel from Denmark I started follow you when you bought Zatara in Greece. My sister passed away at 16yrs old from a P.E. Losing a family member is tough but that pain is multiplied when that loved one is lost at a young age. I’d see younger girls out and about or around the college campus and think she should be enjoying those moments. It’s been about 7 years and I still catch myself about to text her. Sending my condolences and hope as well to the original commenter and all of those reading this who have lost a loved one suddenly ..

I pray for the comfort and peace needed to heal that wound in your hearts, but like you said Renee, one really never recovers completely when it comes to the loss of a child. I pray for the family in Tonga and your children there dealing with the grief firsthand. That's great Jack is helping them out with those repairs. That being said, your children are learning such valuable things from this that will make them even more amazing and resilient as adults. Hope you didn't suffer too much damage from the hurricane. When I heard Beryl was heading to Grenada I thought of you particularly with your delays in getting there where supposedly you were in a safe zone. Indeed Mother Nature can change the norms when you aren't expecting it.
RIP, young man. God doesn't call you home unless he needs you more than we do. All we can do in times like these is give thanks and pray for all of our families. Sailing Zatara, your channel is full of life lessons. I'll watch your channel every week for as long as you chose to provide it.
Good tribute to JJ. Well done. Moms and dads ain’t supposed to put their kids in the ground. That’s not the way it works. I lost my oldest son to homicide in 2018. He was 26. It’s darned hard to get over. I know the feels of JJ’s kin. My hearts out to them. ❤😢 🙏

That yellow j24 behind you is call fadeway and used to be raced in barbados by my father in-law. it was brought and taken to Grenada to try and help the small sail boat racing commodity grow

Our monohull is also in Grenada at Clark’s Court and we have pictures of the boatyard after Beryl... very little damage there so Zatara and our boat should be fine🙏. Very grateful! The hardest hit places were north of the main island of Grenada in Carriacou and further north in the other Grenadine islands. Sending prayers for all those effected by Hurricane Beryl🙏.

There are no words of comfort for all the emotions felt in what you're all experiencing, everyone grieves differently, and that's okay to not be okay sometimes. This has been compacted by other senses of loss in missing your kids being away plus the death of a dear family friend. My heart goes out to the Rice family too. It's almost too much to bare seeing how close you all are, you feel it that so much more. Hope you find solace in one another staying in contact often and looking forward to reuniting soon again. Many wonderful memories created to cherish, thank you for sharing your journey, we have been blessed to see how far you've come, grown and prospered from when y'all started. I lost 3 of my closest friends growing before I was 18 just before going into the NAVY. 1 cancer 2 due to stupid accidents... keeping busy and involved in the NAVY was what got me through it. I think about them all the time. Keep JJ in your life's... you will NEVER forget him, so don't even try to "move past him"... move with him !!!

So sorry about JJ! I had just watched Jack’s channel for the first time and saw JJ on there. My ❤ goes out to your family & JJ’s family! I lost my niece at 20 from a pulmonary embolism & another niece at 28 in an accident. I don’t have kids of my own so my nieces are my kids. I had 3 beautiful nieces and only have 1 now. The pain never gets any easier & never goes away! You just learn to live with it! It was hard losing a fiancé & hard losing my Mom but both pale in comparison to losing a child that I loved especially 2 of them! It’s the worst pain a person can ever endure! Prayers for all of you dealing with this very sad tragedy! ❤

I’ve lived in Hawaii for 50 years and I know three people that have died from Shallowater blackouts and two of them weren’t alone they had their close friends with them. The other one was using an aqua scooter, trying to go through a cave so he was by himself. So sorry to hear of your loss
Jack, I lost my brother to suicide when I was 16 and he was 15, I cant even imagine how you feel right now... Honeslty dude I doubt you will seee this but I really felt for you after seeing the video of you guys in the gold cart. Y0u will never stay the same. But personally try and reflect on all the good times you guys have had an bank them in your memory so he forever lives on in your memory. For the total Zatartra family stay strong.

Yup, sails off when on the hard. The boat next to mine had an issue with their headsail and the boat was taken off of its jack stands in a storm resulting in a broken mast, trashed ridding, broken bullkheads and more.

So sorry about JJ! I had just watched Jack’s channel for the first time and saw JJ on there. My ❤ goes out to your family & JJ’s family! I lost my niece at 20 from a pulmonary embolism & another niece at 28 in an accident. I don’t have kids of my own so my nieces are my kids. I had 3 beautiful nieces and only have 1 now. The pain never gets any easier & never goes away! You just learn to live with it! It was hard losing a fiancé & hard losing my Mom but both pale in comparison to losing a child that I loved especially 2 of them! It’s the worst pain a person can ever endure! Prayers for all of you dealing with this very sad tragedy! ❤

I have been so concerned with the boat since the hurricane struck Granada. With all you have been through I hope at least the boat faired well. My heart felt sympathy to your family and the Rice family in Tonga. I can’t imagine the pain you all are feeling.

Every time I see Keith start to cry when he talks about his kids leaving I start to tear up too. Y'all are amazing parents and have a beautiful family.

I’ve lived in Hawaii for 50 years and I know three people that have died from Shallowater blackouts and two of them weren’t alone they had their close friends with them. The other one was using an aqua scooter, trying to go through a cave so he was by himself. So sorry to hear of your loss
Jack, I lost my brother to suicide when I was 16 and he was 15, I cant even imagine how you feel right now... Honeslty dude I doubt you will seee this but I really felt for you after seeing the video of you guys in the gold cart. Y0u will never stay the same. But personally try and reflect on all the good times you guys have had an bank them in your memory so he forever lives on in your memory. For the total Zatartra family stay strong.
I know what we don't know each other the slightest bit but watching Jacks video on his youtube and then seeing this really just made me feel like I had to say something.... Jack and Kate I'm sure what you are feeling sucks but let let it become who you are remember JJ by doing what you guys liked to do with each other and never lose that passion.

Yup, sails off when on the hard. The boat next to mine had an issue with their headsail and the boat was taken off of its jack stands in a storm resulting in a broken mast, trashed ridding, broken bullkheads and more.
