I never thought of accidentally being sealed in a tomb underground, like you fell asleep and the egyptian exploring party left and re-sealed to stop thieves so there's literally no way you get out, you hallucinate zombie
@william sands I got shut in the bottom of a deep well cargo tank on an old oil tanker ship once. 80ft down treacherous multiple ladders, side stepping holes in decks then had to climb down a pipe the last 15ft to reach the pump I was inspecting. My helper had left for the day leaving me alone when someone disconnected the string of lights and shut the hatch making it absolute black. I was panicking when I found my dying flashlight remembering my helper had the batteries in his bag. I got just enough use out of it to see the wat back to the treacherous pipe and the sure ways to die when it died. I froze for as long as I could hoping someone would notice and come looking or at least open the hatch and let that tiny bit of daylight in at the top. Then started banging with a hammer which was only deafening me and making my ears ring. After 15min there this creepy ass double hull ship felt like a maze from a horror movie. I would turn the light on after a few min to see the endless passages fwd and aft and my mind started playing tricks on me. Started hearing things I couldn’t have heard and sensing things that couldn’t be happening. After what felt like an eternity but was actually about 2hrs I started feeling my way out, light completely dead. Up the pipes. Through the narrow passages. @@mannyboy1 😂 I did get out. After setting at the top landing for another 30min some Ahole welder opened it. Pretty sure he was the same one who pulled the light stringer and shut it but of course he denied it.
My biggest fear with tight caves like these is if suddenly rains hard outside and floods the cave, or a rock gets dislodged blocking your way out. Scary to even think about
@@realmasterkush yea I was just pointing out that the type of scenario he is talking about is actually very familiar to some unfortunate people. Personally I don’t ever think I’ll go spelunking 😂

Based on the title I thought someone is going to have a nervous breakdown in a cave. It ended up being me having a nervous breakdown watching you guys do this 😅 crazy stuff..
how are you guys so calm - "oh wow, I almost slipped into this hole to nowhere haha" - "I thought we'd never see each other again haha" - "you're running out of steam on this vertical wall climb without a harness? oh nooo haha"
I like how they're like,"Oh yeah, this is the worst thing I've ever seen. This entire cave is basically a death trap just waiting to crush our frail human forms." *proceeds to crawl in*
Anytime I see cave spelunkers doing their thing I can’t help but think of the “Nutty Putty Cave” & the brutally tragic story of one of the brothers who got stuck upside down & died despite a full-on expedition to save him…. His whole family was outside the cave talking to him and comforting him until he passed. So sad.
i remember watching a video on that, and thinking how scary it is that even with modern equipment there’s no hope for them, I will forever respect nature.
@@kayllllllaz Ya!! They closed up & blocked off the entrance/openings to the “unmapped” section(s) of the cave where that young man’s corpse was left…. & unfortunately for the family, due to a mixture of the intensely cramped conditions of the cave itself; the lack of natural light, having no steady flow/ circulation of fresh air, & the nature of the horrifyingly confined passages & insanely narrow openings.?? It was deemed “Too dangerous” to make any further attempt to retrieve the remains- & to this day has never been recovered…. A memorial plaque (Grave-Stone) was set-up there in his name… serving as both a memorial for the deceased & his family, but also as his final resting place…. RIP brother-man, RIP…
Hearing "I hope my brother's okay, bad movies usually start with them splitting up" followed by "Woah, a rope; where does that go? That's interesting" does not fill my heart with much hope
Then him yelling for his brother and hearing nothing and saying he doesnt even know where hes at?? I know these guys are insanely skilled but god damn i nearly had a heart attack 😂
This reminds me of when my brother and I got lost and separated in our Minecraft mine and dug for like 30 minutes trying to find each other and the relief I felt when I saw his pickaxe appear was 0.00001% of the relief you must have felt when you heard James.
As the mother of 2 40ish year old boys I have to say this had me Praying for you both even though I know you obviously got out alive as this is posted. Please Please be careful as you explore and adventure. God bless you all.
yeah, I always feel awful for the families of people who go cave diving and spelunking. I could never do what these people who in these videos. But even if I could work up the courage... I could never put my family through that. I'm glad none of my loved ones enjoy doing stuff like this.
i can't imagine myself surviving a cave like this. Imagine this you got to the end/your objective place to go to inside the cave but imagine the trip back, you're exhausted, tired and longing for a rest yet you still have to go through all of those tight spaces again
I realize now after watching this that the ‘nervous breakdown’ meant we the viewers, nervously sweating and falling apart as we watch you and your brother seamlessly navigate cracks in the earth
I explored Nutty Putty caves as a Boy Scout before they sealed it off. The Big Slide wasn’t too bad, thanks to the ropes, and I enjoyed it for the first 45 minutes or so. Our group got to the Birth Canal, and when I saw how tight it was I started to get really anxious. I thought “there’s no way we’re all going to crawl through this…” and then a tall, husky adult excitedly squeezed himself into the opening and started worming his way out of sight. At this point I started hyperventilating and telling my scout leaders there was no way on earth I was going to crawl into that opening. My older scout leader assured me I could stay back with him, and I was able to calm down. While we sat there, he quizzed me on camping preparedness. He asked me to list some things you should always bring camping, and at one point he was trying to get me to say “bandaids.” He said “You’re forgetting something. There’s one behind that rock over there.” So I look behind the rock and there was a used condom sitting there. I said “a… uhh… a condom?” and he immediately sat up and apologized, saying “is that really?!!” He put the used condom under his kneepad’s elastic and packed it out. He was a devout, strict man, but he was a really good guy. He died of colon cancer a few years later. R.I.P. Mr. Loser (pronounced “low-sir”). Bonus story, I couldn’t fall asleep on the top bunk in a beach cabin due to anxiety. My face was about 16” from the ceiling. After a while I moved to the couch and I instantly felt wonderfully relieved. Claustrophobia is a bitch sometimes.
Condoms are excellent tools for outdoor stuff. Need water? Put the condom inside a thick plastic bag (something akin to a coffee bag, one you'd have if you bring pre-cooked meals like instant rice or something). Need to keep fire starting stuff dry because you're about to go through water? Condom got it. Your phone's protected too, if a bit slime-y. Need an impromptu "paper" bag to calm the shit down? Yup. You're in deep shit creek AKA bear country and you're afraid your food's going to attract a bear over night? Mhm. Basically bring a whole line of it with you if you go outdoors outside the beaten path. Better to have and not want, than want and die without it.
I’ve watched the video of that dude crawling through the birth canal .. and all I can say is NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE lol, the part where u said an adult crawled his way out of sight gave me horrible thoughts.. even this video is WAY too much for me .. Also when I was a kid the older kids in my family would hold me down and I’d FLIP out from the claustrophobia.. but great story, gave some really good brain food, gave me anxiety for sure lol
These kind of videos are more frightening than any horror movies I've ever seen. Like legit i almost hyperventilated at the starting part where he said 'its kinda tight man'. Mad respect to these guys
you couldn’t pay me enough to do this. i could be given all the money in the world, & i would turn it down. this is something out of a nightmare. idk how you guys do it, not only would i have a panic attack from how small & tight it is in there, i would most definitely get lost. you guys are CRAZY
I really struggle to understand how you guys have the mental fortitude to go through caves like this... This is just insane I could never put myself in a position where I feel like I could get stuck it's like a phobia for me
With no way to get out quickly. I've developed this fear more and more as I've gotten older. No way I'd slide through gaps barely wide enough to slide my body through
if you’d like to amp up your phobia even more… go watch the documentaries on the man who got stuck in Nutty Putty Cave & died. 😭 it’s interesting but sad but also has you on your toes. It’s crazy! What’s even wilder is the ones who do this under water & have to take their oxygen tanks off and equipment, just to get through some spaces.
@@peabrain6872 You’re actually right. The rocks do filter the water. That I know of, and I can believe the part of it lacking bad air, which results in clearer water.
I really love that you put that journal back where you found it. A neat little discovery for somebody else to maybe one day stumble upon themselves. Normally I can't even think about doing something like this, but I can definitely understand after you were talking about the way the discovery room looked in person. Just the sites on the camera alone are completely breathtaking, and you guys definitely seem to really be enjoying yourselves. I would have to get past alot of fear to ever do something even close to that, but I know I would love it as soon as I tried it myself. Probably too much for my own good. I would have to find a truly experienced buddy before I even set foot in a cave.
Climbing that wall without a harness was pretty reckless. To pull an injured person from that depth would take an absolutely huge team who would be putting themselves at risk. Respect the cave and its danger by having the proper equipment to minimize the danger to you and the people who would rescue you.
Yet thousands of people have done it with nothing more than a headlamp & a pair of coveralls... The modern world is frequented by very weak willed, weak minded sheep.
Do you guys seriously think they go down with just one battery powered flashlight each? They (should) have backups and backups like any caver/cave diver learns on day 1.
Me and my buddy did this when we were young and our flashlight burned out. We were lost under there for many hours. I also Lost one boot in stuck in the mud. Never forget that . It was an old mineshaft with different branches , horrible feeling .
Don't know how these guys can do this...for fun! This is the stuff of my deepest fears and nightmares, getting trapped in a tight space underground. But these two are like, woah, this big rock looks unstable and barely held up...I'm gonna crawl under it! Like the Steve Irwins of cave crawling. 😂 But, for real, some of this footage is amazing. The passages with clear pools and wavy walls. Beautiful. I will never cease to be amazed by the human drive to explore and discover, even in the face of danger. Thanks guys for being brave and adventurous enough to bring us these images of natural wonders that would otherwise go forever unseen, unknown and unappreciated. Be safe down there.
I'm an avid climber, but hell no I would never explore a cave. Kudos to you guys. I don't even know how you make through some of those narrow paths with your massive steel testicles
Im neither but ive gone climbing before and man i was shitting bricks seeing the homie try and get his rope on the first bolt, it was like 25 feet from the ground and if you fell you are falling on a bunch of sharp boulders. Id much rather go caving than go climbing again lol
I think it's kind of pathetic and embarrassing. They haven't achieved anything and haven't enjoyed themselves. It's the kind of thing that someone who cannot get enjoyment from life does, no different then heroin. There probably impotent as well
Thanks for showing us the emerald pool. I have to admit I was expecting something bigger and greener considering the size of this crazy cave. But the way you could walk out on that ledge in the water was cool. Except for walking back through the silt cloudy water having to make sure you don't fall into the crack in the middle. Please stick close to one another from now on. I was scared when you couldn't hear each other. Those walls of the tunnel section at the bottom that were shiny and had scoops or divots in them were so pretty. I hope your arm has healed up.
I am extremely claustrophobic when it comes to stuff like this and this is one of my biggest fears, but for some reason I can’t stop binge watching these from the comfort of my bed lol. You gentlemen are a lot braver than I am. Kudos!
@@Vel_D Okay, I'm really trying to accept that statement, however... It is begs the question, what IF the choice to cop out was taken away? Take one hundred very claustrophobic individuals, toss them in a cramped cave for ten minutes, is a lifetime to anyone fearful of something. The question is his many of those individuals make it out, having done the impossible and survived through a camped environment for 10 minutes. Then I'd ask how this might changed their perspectives after seeing first hand they survived just fine.
Me and my brother got lost in a cave/mine where we live in the UK. Thing is when your walking forward you remember the pattern of the rock but heading back it looks completely different. It's the only environment i know we're you can get lost so easily. Even cave experts do.
I use red sticky notes with extra strong glue and jus pick them up as I leave… always leave them in my left so when I’m walking back there in my right. I don’t do cave exploring like in this video tho to extreme
In case anyone's confused by your "cave/mine" description... in the UK (North Yorkshire anyway) some of the cave systems have been extended by mineral mining, going right back to Roman times. It's not always clear which parts of the system are natural and which are man-made.
Watching this video has made me glad I don't go caving any more. In fact, it makes me wonder why I ever did. LOL!
Forests during a white out blizzard can be very disorientating as well. Atleast with the gave there wre limited way to go. Wilderness is the really scary
The reason the stream path looks scalloped like that is because of cavitation. Which means the water running through the was running through faaaaast. You would not want to be caught there in a storm.
@@ev6558 repeatedly throughout the years won't cause it? A droplet on a bedrock for a reasonable amount of years would cause a dent in the rock if I am not wrong.
Here in TN I lived on a road called snail shell cave rd which has a 12mi cave where you gotta float through much of it of course lmao and anyways when I was like 10yrs old it was storming bad and like 12am when we got a knock on our door from two people with kayaks. They had two friends who were together on a canoe and when it started to storm these two said they were gonna head back and the other two tried to convince them to keep going and they argued and split ways. Well that cave connects 3 counties and killed them both and now it has their canoe "welded" to the roof of the cave. They closed the cave after this but people still sneak off into it tho it's like a 100ft drop sinkhole type entrance with tons of rattlesnakes all over it and definitely not smart to do lmao
I had to take breaks while watching this because my heart was pounding and I couldn't breath. You guys are f'ing crazy. Glad you had fun and made it out safely.
I don’t know how to explain it, but the mud sounds are always so satisfying. Don’t know if it’s the type of mud or how the cave amplifies the sound, but the noise is just perfect.
Idk if yall know this but for safety reasons i am inclined to inform you, DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT step in random puddles in caves. This cave is mapped and known to be safe i am certain but if you go free caving. Stagnant puddles of water can trap and re-disperse toxic and deadly gases built up in caves and they will release into the air from the water when stepped in be please safe out there!
I used to do major rescues years ago I still do it occasionally I'll get a call. I have never not left somebody in a cave Dead or alive I've always gotten them out. I've saved several people's lives and I've been on some well-known rescues. I can't mention any names but I have some of the best tools available that will split cut break and move rocks. I have a giant stretch bag which is basically like Chinese finger handcuffs but it goes around your body and it's super slippery those are always a sure thing when somebody is super stuck. You just put it around their legs or their waste or wherever needed in the harder you pull the more it tightens around them in the smaller it will compress their body. I remember somebody I can't mention his name but I got him out and I still get Christmas cards and ask if I ever need anything and this has been 26 years because i saved a life..

I'm 62 and spent the large majority of my life underground mining for Opal and Gold throughout the Australian desert. I've explored many old diggings where the roof has collapsed but managed to squeeze my way through to see what old miners were chasing.. But something strange has happened to me now I'm older and retired from my adventures. I've developed bad Claustrophobia. Even waking me up at night just being in a dark room the feeling of being closed in..I have to snap outta it to shake the feeling.. So strange after years. I'm having dramas even watching these videos of the guys squeezing through tight spots actually having to turn off the video.. Fear...iv never been scared of anything until now. Take care everyone ❤️.
Wow that’s such an impressive story. Maybe you developed the fear because of all the experiences you had while you were a miner back in the days. How does it make you feel when you watch these videos? Does it give you anxiety or also helps you deal with this anxiety you have? Greetings from the Netherlands 👋
Man, I'm already terrified of confined spaces like this, but experiencing it through a video that confuses my sense of what's up and down is just amplifying that fear.

@@zachhaywood1564If it was called "Nervous Breakdown cave" it'd be fine, but it is specifically titled "Nervous breakdown IN cave" so yeah, click bait. Still a cool video though.
The thing with linear caves is that finding your way out by sight memory is almost impossible, as most passages look different going in than they do going out.

this is a pretty scary cave to explore with a lot of dangerous areas if you aren't fully prepared, esp with the water making everything slippery and having to use other people's ropes, but tbh these guys' positive and upbeat attitude turns a situation that makes me think i would have an actual nervous breakdown into a activity that seems fun and like i could actually do it. They're so casual and encouraging with everything, it's great!
It suddenly becomes not fun when you get lost in a maze of a mine of a cave. I've been there and I was solo so didn't have anyone to call out too and it was terrifying but a lesson well learnt. I can't believe you guys free-climbed up that huge vertical rope, that was absolutely nuts!
Technically it was an aid solo climb. Free = climbing without any equipment that helps you progress up the climb Aid = using equipment that assists in your progression up the climb Solo = not using any equipment which protects your fall
@@ejwest As a rock climber you are "technically" wrong - Aid climbing is the use of devices called aiders to cams, nuts, daisy chains, fifi hooks and pitons to help support body weight. Free climbing came to be defined as climbing using only one’s hands, feet, and body for support and upward progress. If anything, it would be a free solo rope climb.. I don't know why you think aid has anything to do with this, as you say "Aid = using equipment that assists in your progression up the climb" is using your arms aid now!?
@@StoneAgeProductionsAdventure I suppose this a slightly unusual case but as far as I understand it, free climbing only uses mechanical equipment for protection, not to assist in ascent. So the use of rope ladder and an ascender (as in the video) would be aid. Solo climbing seems to me to mean no protection. So in this case I think it stands that this is an aid solo climb.

The amount if respect I have for you two is insane. This video is almost unwatchable for me the thought of getting stuck or lost in a cave and just knowing sooner or later the light will go out is simply nightmare inducing . Imagine being stuck in this alien environment in the dark knowing the chance of getting out in complete darkness are almost impossible. The amount of trust you have in your equipment must be next level , your literally stacking your life on some plastic, batteries and a light bulb...... just insane
Seriously man…while this statement is completely self-serving, I hope you never grow old and never lose the love and desire for filming your cave explorations. It is seriously an amazing channel to live, especially as someone who lives in an area with no caves. I wish you and your brother nothing but happiness, safety, and a life filled with adventures and discovery.
When you're in the large area's such as discovery room might be good to remember why those areas are so much larger than all the others. The reason is because the room structure is continuously falling (bad top) and it can continue to keep doing so. I worked in a few coal mines and those areas were always a bit sketchy.
That’s so dope. It’s so awesome to think of the people who discovered this place and explored every inch of it and setting up the ropes. Some one climbed that wall before that rope was there! Thats impressive!
I caved as a young man in Kentucky. We went to property we had no business being on - small caves with no signs of prior visitors. It was thrilling, but the thought of confinement scares me to death now. Crawling with a friend in front of you and one behind - and no way to turn around until you hopefully find a larger spot. We were nuts and didn’t know it.
I love exploring as much as the next world class adventurer. I can't tell you how many trees I've free climbed, forests I've ran through, and river edges I've walked; but if I had a choice to make between scaling the world's most tallest and deadliest mountain or exploring the world's deepest and most cramped cave, I'd choose the mountain. I'm afraid of heights, but I still love them in a way because I can still see the scenery around me, which at least gives me some level of comfort. Being underground with barely any lighting, little equipment, cramped spaces, possible pitfalls from unstable ground, flooding from unforeseen weather from above making it impossible to leave, and hearing nothing but the sound of pure silence and occasional drops of water while being surrounded by utter darkness not knowing if I'll ever see the light of day again while being some 1,000 ft underground would drive me a little crazy. A normal tourist cave, I'll go through; but to attempt what these boys are doing, all I'll say is that I'm happy for VR and GoPros because I can just watch the experience from someone else's viewpoint. I feel that I'm physically fit to do this kinda thing, but mentally, I'm unprepared to try this.
At the 1:05 mark, man you will absolutely never see me going into something like that. Especially not knowing what is on the other side. I’m fine watching the mud in the beginning of the cave instead of the mud inside. I have done my own fair share of risky and stupid things so I am the last person to judge someone, to each their own. Thank you for making the video, it’s nice to see safely from my laptop how this actually is like. Live long and prosper!

And they entombed him in that cave.. so sad.

@@victorialefley9439Yes, that's how naming parts of a cave works. Thanks for your wise insight Victoria!
I said “a… uhh… a condom?” and he immediately sat up and apologized, saying “is that really?!!”
He put the used condom under his kneepad’s elastic and packed it out.
A condom deep in a cave.. surprised it wasn’t an old Walmart bag lol
Can start a fire with a condom and water so Mr. Loser may of known what he was doing lol, great story.
I don't kn ow why i read all of this and enjoyed it. thank you
I’ve watched the video of that dude crawling through the birth canal .. and all I can say is NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE lol, the part where u said an adult crawled his way out of sight gave me horrible thoughts.. even this video is WAY too much for me .. The thing with linear caves is that finding your way out by sight memory is almost impossible, as most passages look different going in than they do going out.
I learned this the hard way in minecraft
Which is one more reason not to do anything this stupid.
Gotta do the hansel and gretel method
@venicec3310 which is ?
@@Liefvikersondon’t tell me you don’t know the tale of Hansel and Gretel!
I love exploring caves from my tablet screen.lol
I suffer from bad claustrophobia, but these videos are just too good. I dont know if I could ever do it myself, but I always had the spirit of adventure in me. thank you for your time, dedication, and skill to show us all this world. it's really fascinating
Omg, my heart jumped up in my throat when all I could see was those two feet crawling thru that tight gap. Wow is all I can say!! Thanks for showing y'all coming out.
Putting yourself through so much stress and discomfort. I was anxious just watching it!
Boys, boys. You guys are brave, athletic, and have mad balls. Watching this gave me so much anxiety. Especially when you couldn’t find each other. You said in the discovery room “this is where our journey ends” however that’s when you guys get home 😅 amazing watch. Thank you for documenting
this is a pretty scary cave to explore with a lot of dangerous areas if you aren't fully prepared, esp with the water making everything slippery and having to use other people's ropes, but tbh these guys' positive and upbeat attitude turns a situation that makes me think i would have an actual nervous breakdown into a activity that seems fun and like i could actually do it.
Don’t go alone!
@@avabobavaas Very true 👍
Technically it was an aid solo climb.
Free = climbing without any equipment that helps you progress up the climb
Aid = using equipment that assists in your progression up the climb
Solo = not using any equipment which protects your fall
Props for doing this, I'm an adrenaline junkie, but caves.... No thanks, I'll leave it to you guys, be safe, love watching your videos!
Same
This is like a different rush, compared to jumping off things or going fast af lol
My uncle davie the rapist died on one of them
Love waking up in the morning with the knowledge that im not going caving 🥰🥰
"I feel like I'm going to fall in that hole"
"Don't fall in that hole"
"Dude I feel like I'm going to"
These guys sound like there permanently stoned I love it 😂
“I lost all my strength”
“You gotta keep going”
They’re like the Kratt brothers of spelunking. 😂😂
I wish I could stress how amazing it is to watch your videos in first person POV like this. I am not, and will never be, thin enough to fit through some of these crevasses. My figure just won't let it happen.
FINALLY I can see it! just like you do... kind of... but I wouldn't have ever seen it, had I not found your channel! Thank you guys, so much!
This reminds me of a time in a cave in northern british columbia..we split up. I got double backed without knowing it and almost totally lost my way. It was terrifying. Great job guys.
How remote is it there
You guys are great. I do have an identical twin brother, and we both skydive, scubadive, and both want to be cave divers in the future, so we love adventures as much as you do. What you guys do is just next level though, it takes big balls!!
The amount of trust you have in your equipment must be next level , your literally stacking your life on some plastic, batteries and a light bulb...... just insane
this is what gets me most, not getting lost or stuck but imagining equipment malfunction where youd be trapped in darkness
maybe they have extra lights and some equipments coz when u go these kind of places you never trust on 1 thing btw much respect for ur feelings too
wow the fear when you lost your brother was real! i got very happy when you two reunited.
Yall are definitely some of the bravest adrenaline junkies ive seen yet
idk how you can fit through that cave with those massive balls
Seriously man…while this statement is completely self-serving, I hope you never grow old and never lose the love and desire for filming your cave explorations. It is seriously an amazing channel to live, especially as someone who lives in an area with no caves. I wish you and your brother nothing but happiness, safety, and a life filled with adventures and discovery.
The amount of sediment kicked up. You can imagine how terrifying diving in the "Emerald pools" could be.
Do people actually dive into those things that deep into mines? Fuck that
The story of them diving the blue hole entrance at Ellisons, near pettijohns, is nuts. Go find that article.
One of the best caving pov’s Iv seen to date. Absolutely terrifying and thrilling to watch ❤👍🏽
10:48 damn that water looks so thirst quenching and crystal clear! I feel like it be absolutely amazing.
If you want ancient amoeba aids, go ahead son
