Hi, thank you for for showing our city, this is this the best travel vlog i’ve seen so far! You guys really captured some of the highlights. But not all! So please come back 😊
Wow, Thank-you. That is a massive complement. 🤯 We will definitely be back, but need to make sure that we allow ourselves enough time to do justice to the parts that we missed. What are the other parts that you would like us to visit..?!? Much love, Darren and Alison 😘💜🤟
Thanks! I've watched just about every UA-cam video there is on Valencia, including this one a few weeks ago and again today (planning to move there next year), and what I really appreciate about your video is how much attention you pay to the details, the tiles, plants, windows, etc. Most videos focus on a large frame, yet so often our eyes really want to focus on the details right in front of us. And you showcase some lovely details about Valencia which I've not seen in the other many videos. Well Done!
Gosh Chuck, what a lovely comment. Thank-you so much. We're glad to love the video and Valencia. Darren and I both spent many years not noticing the amazing places around us, but now we've both got to the age where it's all about the little things that people do to make their homes beautiful. It's not always what other people consider beauty either. Good luck with your move to Valencia. Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
We really did. It's a stunning city. We will go again to be able to go inside the churches etc and see all the other pieces we ran out of time for. You are lucky to live there. 💜🤟
That "small thing" in the middle is a full IMAX cinema. The building is called Hemisferic, and if you picture from a side, it resembles an eye, which doors open like eyelids
Wow guys!! What a video.. Valencia looks stunning through the prism of your lens! superbly filmed with just the right balance of culture and modern. We loved the city when we recently visited. We are in the process of selling up England and moving to the area. It's frustrating waiting to sell as we have another life waiting for us almost the same journey you are both going through right now. We have done van life for 5 yrs and loved it so we know what awaits you. In the meantime your wonderful channel is keeping us going so thank you so much and... keep them coming please! BTW we too have a youtube channel 'Cruising on the border' it documents our life pretty much like your does. Thanks again guys and take care.. xx
Aaww thanks. ☺️ We agree, It is very frustrating. Selling a home here takes so much longer than it did in the UK. It was much easier last time. Both of our families had campers when we were younger and we both loved that way of life, so we can't wait Did you sell up before you went to van life..? Oh awesome..! We'll go and give it a look..! Much love. 💜🤟
Hi. Sorry for the delay answering. No we kept our house but rented it out. We travelled all over Europe but this was before Brexit so it was a little easier then. We had a 7m long Hymer motorhome which we loved and served us well. @@findingxanadulife
Gracias, for the video. I just recently discovered your channel. My new favorite UA-cam channel. We were probably in Valencia on the same day. I was so nervous about missing my train that I missed a lot of the little things in the train station. I've learned a lot and will be returning to Spain soon. We are staying in Gandia next time. It would be awesome if we could meet. I hope the vertigo is doing better and best of luck selling your place and getting a camper. We are planning on retiring a little early and looking for our forever spot. Thanks again
What a lovely comment Jay. Thank you so much. How strange about you being in Valencia the same day. When are you planning on staying in Gandía..?? As the sale has been agreed on our house and we are just waiting to sign the paperwork at the notary, but we don't have a date yet. We would love to meet you if we can be in the area when you are. If not, maybe we can coincide somewhere else when we get on the road. We are hoping to be in the UK for Christmas, for the first time in 6 years. My vertigo is much better most of the time now thanks. It still flares up occasionally, with no warning, but it's not too bad. Thank you so much for watching, it is much appreciated. Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
Allison welcome to the club I have Meniere since 2011 the first day of vertigo was horrible and I never will forget ,but now i only have few times I have my medication of SERC 16 mg.every day, and no problem.
Hi Micky. That must be awful for you. I'm hoping when I see the specialist again this week, they will have some miracle cure for me. Serc 16 didn't have much effect for me. For me, it's only been 11 weeks. I can't imagine how it would be to have it for 12 years. So glad that the meds help you. Long may it continue. Much love. Alison.💜🤟
We agree totally. We hadn't included the port area and beaches, or the Albufera area in our calculations, as we intend to visit those on their own to do them justice. Hopefully it won't be too long in the future. We hope the French subtitles were translated ok for you. Many thanks for joining us. Much love, Alison and Darren. 💜🤟
Arts and Science Museum + Caixa Forum (Ágora, also called the Clam) + Oceanographic. They also recently filmed a Star Wars thing there (they had a casting for 700 extras)
To be honest, you have hardly seen anything: huge green areas, kilometers long beaches, beautiful natural parks in the nearby (la Albufera), exquisite fresh vegetables and fruits cultivated at the gates of the city, amusing nightlife, your visit is much too short
Indeed our visit was too short. Sadly we had an appointment to fit in as well during the day. We have been to the river bed area and the Biopark previously, but not seen the old town. We intend to visit the Albufera area separately. When we sell the house and move into van life, we intend to go back and can take more than one day to visit a place. As it is, we can only manage one day at a time. We loved what we did see and look forward to seeing more. 💜🤞
As a Valencian, sadly, i must say that the bull ring is still used for bull fighting (Killing bulls with swords) and they kill at least 25-30 yearly meanwhile 3k people applaud.
We don't agree with the bullfighting, bull running or cockfighting that still goes on as a tradition in Spain. Banning it would be my (Alison) preference, but it seems to be impossible to achieve. As a compromise, it could so easily be changed for the toreadors/matadors to simply remove little flags from the bulls horns, to show their 'bravery'. Thankfully there are a lot of Spaniards that share my views, so I have hopes for the future. 🤞🍀 Thanks for your comment. 💜🤟
We missed a lot of places Ana. We plan to do at least one, if not 2 more videos of Valencia. We just couldn't see it all in one day. As always, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟
Not sure what you meant by 'moving here'? From where exactly? Brits are certainly not wanted in Spain, unless they are affluent. Brexit ruined our plans to do long-term rental in Spain, because of the 90 day limit.
Apparently Valencia City is currently one of the most popular locations to relocate to from all over the world. As for Brexit, we are so sorry to hear that. It's a shame so many people's plans had to change post Brexit. 🤟♥️
We can't compare Valencian salaries, as we have no experience of them. However, the news article that we saw, talked about Digital Nomads, who we assume are remaining on their original salary. 💜🤟
I like your videos.. The only thing i don´t find useful is the andalusian music with flamenco and guitars ... You will not hear that in valencia never ever , like we will not hear bagpipes in Colchester as their folk music. Just remember in the next videos.. Flamenco and guitarr are mostly in the south of Spain. Not in Valencia .. Valencia also has its own language called "catalán " . So no roots with the andalusian .
A lot of Spanish cities have some great street art and murals, but we agree, tagging isn't appropriate for such amazing spaces. Much love, Darren and Alison 💜🤟
You are correct. We have no clue of what is 'cool' when it comes to graffiti, but in our opinion, to tag whenever and wherever people choose, is not appropriate. It comes in the same category as people who, to die that they have visited, scrape their initials into the Colosseum. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas. 💜🤟
I lived in Valencia for 6 month's. Its not that great! The downtown area is beautiful architecture and the beaches are very nice! However food is very subpar not geeat at all! Mainly seafood and paella which gets old fast. Spaniards are also not very friendly towards foreigners at all. A bit arrogant and rude will bump into you and say nothing and not to mention basically nobody speaks english in the city. There are mucn better optiions in Spain than Valencia I went to several cities. However even with that said Spain is just not that great of a place to live! Taxes are high and economy is bad! No customer service in restaurant's. Cant tell you how many times they forgot my food! So its a good place for vacation but bad place to live!
You're very right, lady. These things happened to you are things that usually happen to everyone. Extrapolate your personal experiences to try to give advice to the others is lovely, my grandma did it and i loved her.
This is a beautiful video, thank you for sharing. I moved here 1,5 years ago and absolutely love it. 🥰

Thanks Steve, we were taken back by just how much there is in Valencia... Definitely needs more than 1 day to see it all. ♥️🤟
