Most avalanches occur on slopes between 30-45 degrees. Furthermore, the visible striations indicate even more diminished likelihood of an avalanche due to how weather hits that slope, so there’s little risk of it happening here.
Someone could only do this if they are incredibly fit😳. Like for real. Think about the physics here. The pressure and force of pressure on your body while you go down this mountain. Now this is the perfect hill for a beginner😮🤣
Yes. Whatever mistake you make, you keep going. No risk of failing.
Blu squares or something like that? lol
Gawd! All I'll be hearing before i fall off the mountain is "Snowplow! Snowplow!! snow plow!!!"
Lmbo a beginner snow ball. Stand at the top toss a snowball down and see how big it gets by the bottom!😂
I swear the pov never shows how steep and scary the cliffs actually are… 😮
Well the angle alway stay constant on the human with the camera so it just looks like "that other slope". But if you know, you know this shit is crazy. I did one vertical wall once, just rode it out to the bottom in control but generally terrified:)
Vice versa, they filmed this like face-on from the heli makes it look way steeper
Actually, the POV is a way more accurate representation of the steepness.
That “Whoa!” at the end pretty much sums it up for me.
This is the Obergabelhorn, in the beautiful Val d’Anniviers in Wallis, Switzerland.
An impressive pyramid shaped summit just above 4000 m
The summit in the background is the famous Matterhorn and its characteristic « flat top » when seen from Anniviers.
To me this is one of the most beautiful valleys in Switzerland. I look forward to being there next week
I was hoping to see the name of the mountain. Thx
Thanks. I thought for a second it might be Alpamayo in Peru. They have similar shapes.
How is your Holiday ? 👍✊
For those wondering, it's a 45-55-degree slope.
I thought this was Gasherbrum IV for a second until I realized no way a heli could be flying in that altitude if it actually was (FYI Gasherbrum IV is just under 8000m).
Also unrelated but on the topic of altitude. I find it wild that I have been in a *valley* higher up than the mountain in the vid (Khunjerab Pass - 4700m). The Himalayas/Karakoram are insane
Study titled "Why do men die quickly?" 😂
more like wypipo what is wrong with you?
Because they risk more.
There are two women for every man because half die before 25 from foolish dares , insurance companies know this, that's why they charge higher rates to those under 25😂😢😮
Because doing this is better than getting nagged at.
@@pedrobedoy9574that's so not true lol......
this is what the average skiers see when they look at a Blue or Red slope
That's for sure what I see for anything over blue 😂
💯-me today on a GREEN but it's a very steep mountain here.
First time in my life Bunny Slope look like that.
Blue or red? You mean blue or black? Is this different in other counties?
@@justicesportsman6020 green, blue, red, black here atleast
😳😳😱 beyond unbelievable and he didn’t die skiing ⛷️ down literally a vertical wall 👏
I felt the "WOAH" at the end, you can hear from his tone that the air is being sucked out of him because hes falling so fast
Yeah, did he make it?
You can certainly call that entire slope a "no fall zone". amazing
In the 80's and 90's, we were doing a ton of first descents down really nasty faces. People thought we were nuts at the time. After seeing what guys are doing today, we weren't $h¡t. This is insanity.
In the 80s and 90s I was pretending the ground was lava and ding dong ditching my neighbours. Not a lot has changed.
Grew up on Warren Miller films. This is definitely a step beyond.
Each generation lays the foundation for the next. If they grew up in the 80's, they wouldn't be doing this type of stuff.
@@BobE_Nagesh Yupp, same for every athletic activity. Skateboarding, running, team sports like football or basketball, everything stays advancing.
@@jonathanorlando1294 Warren Miller films are why I learned to snowboard at 18. This is absolute insanity.
Stay safe, Man, don't push beyond the point of no return. I'm glad you made it safe. That was incredible. 🙏
Can you imagine the intense workout his legs got!!! And his balls doubled in size too 😂
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Literally all I can think about watching clips like this is the amount of burn they must be feeling in their legs
His phat kok also grew ten sizes that day
That’s impressive, cuz his balls were already made of steel just to even get out of the helicopter for this run.
The strength needed in the legs to do this 🤯🤯🤯
And knees yo!
And Groin...
I think it’s balls 😊
The leg strength is 100% in shape and only when ur young and crazy like I was
I think him shitting his pants counterbalances his center of gravity...
Watching action/secondary sports on a screen will never capture the reality of just how visually jaw dropping terrain like this is in real life. 15-20 years ago I was a professional FMX rider. My parents always saw videos and pictures of a power sport I sincerely loved. They went to my first show at the state fair. I saw them walking away. I quickly ran to them. They said we had no idea just how far and high you are. I'm an only child . Some things in life we have to see for own eyes to really understand or appreciate just how beautiful or amazing something like the athlete above has achieved which gives us so much more respect.
The pov camera makes it seem so doable, but my god you are a legend. All of you. Stuff like this makes going to work seem worth it lmfao.
Brave soul. I felt his heart while going down that steep slope. I felt I was there until he scream.
The truth is madder than fiction.
That sound he makes at the beginning is epic.
It sounds like the last expression of the part of him that was arguing for no-go after it lost the argument.
"Ok, dropping in five. Ai-yuh."
Wow! Full send baby! Bad AF!🤙👏
My God this is insane, this man is alien humanly impossible! Great respect for his courage ❤
I felt that "whoaaa" towards the end of the video in the core of my being!
That looks like you deserve the athlete of the century award.
He Or alex honnold (free climb el capitan)
As far as I know, this is Jérémie Heitz, who has also skied Weisshorn Peak, which is known for having one of the steepest and sharpest descents. These areas are no-go zones for all but a very few exceptional skiers.
Glad to see he made it. This is truly man vs Mountain 🏔️. Every breath, every turn, your legs and balance 🦵 he was fighting to stay alive.
мм
Did he make it, I didn’t see an ending
Nobody asked him to fight though...
Thankfully, I've never been good enough at anything to put my life at risk doing the impossible ❤
if you good enough then you will know your limits and how to push them in a smart and safe way. The people who don't know their limits are the ones who die.
@ianzander5057 This is literally one of the most ridiculous and idiotic comments I've read 😂🙄. Virtually every professional is always pushing the
limit so there's always a risk of death. You can't pick and choose when things are going to go wrong. Just look at the countless professionals that have lost their lives.
Don't worry
Maybe one day
*possible
The thing is... you don't have to be good, just confident.
an avalanche would definitely be the end of bro’s life
Most avalanches occur on slopes between 30-45 degrees. Furthermore, the visible striations indicate even more diminished likelihood of an avalanche due to how weather hits that slope, so there’s little risk of it happening here.
@@se7enthedge382Aren’t there avalanche proof jackets that inflate in an emergency or am I making shit up again 😂

Someone could only do this if they are incredibly fit😳. Like for real. Think about the physics here. The pressure and force of pressure on your body while you go down this mountain. And the fact that you have to remain standing upright the whole time or else you will fall and tumble down to your death in all honesty.
You would have to have extremely strong leg muscles especially, core abdomen muscles, grip strength in hands and arm muscles. And just overall be very fit, confident and experienced in pro skiing. This is actually phenomenal 😲👏.
I think it's partly mind over matter and also knowing that it is going to end fast 😊
He has nerves of steel.
This guy is fricn nuts I love it 😁
Imagine the endurance that guy has
That "Ayyaa" before he started his descend sounds like he has done it multiple times and that's the final descend for the clip😂🔥🔥🔥
This looks absolutely epic
The grim reaper looking at his betting slip and realizing he has to go back to his 9to5 job like every other schlep.
It’s amazing what a person can used to and what people are capable of... ❤️ Bravo!!!
This send shivers through my body, of delite! NO I don't ever, ever, ever desire to throw myself down a mountain on skis; but, if someone else wants to, I'll watch. TY for presenting, impressive and inspirational... Namaste
Those corduroy waves are about a foot each. The bouncing effects had to be exhausting and disjointing. F-n amazing.
I love sking I remember first learning and seeing clouds I had to ski through my heart was pounding great times. But what he's doing is like 100 diamond 💎💎💎 extreme experience ⚠️
That "Woaaa" verbalization was the moment he realized that he may have underestimated his decent and that there is a strong possibility that death may be somewhere along his decent 😮
Pretty sure that was the moment that he passed the most sketchy parts
The moment when you realize your speed is faster than your legs can control
@@edstarrs2195 Kinda like the old school bicycles that when you got going way way way too fast the front tire and handlebars start to swing back and forth right before the faceplant. 😆
Whoaaaa was when he realized he actually was going to live.
Not necessarily death. Snow isn’t solid ground but very serious injury is a high possibility
I straight up thought the guy was going down that 80-90 degree angle for a second 😅
He did he flew off a cliff and died
Me too it sure look s almost straight down Right?😊
That looks extremely strength and endurance intensive. I've skied all my childhood so I know how tiring it can get and how quick. But this is terrifying. I can't stop imagining just falling due to my legs giving in. You can see even after he stops, there's so much more to go. Must be quite the experience.
😮 INCREIBLE Pero Peligroso! Sin embargo el impulso de expandir su destreza lo llevo al extremo 🙄😲🤔👍😲
