- In the middle of a busy thoroughfare in Cavite, an unexpected brutalist housing for a corporation's employees stands in an attempt to make low cost housing sexy and sensual - affordable without compromising aesthetics or comfort. This 45sqm lot area and 62sqm floor area home cost PHP 1.1 million, a fraction of the cost of neighboring homes.

Please create more of these videos. It's refreshing to see Filipino architects and designers going beyond the usual house designs in the Philippines. Designers who articulate and embrace great philosophy and marry them with practicality and functionality.
Agree
The architect is so simple and calm. His artwork reflects his personality
I am a fan of Design Seed, Never Too Small but finally, a concept or content for Filipino viewers is here in the Philippines. I can live in a home as bare as that, but my concern is the moisture from its walls, but I presume the architect and the designer of the house has a solution for that type of aesthetics.
same huhuhu
the concrete edges specially of the stairs would also likely to chip in about a year, people should stop promoting aesthetics without practicality
Been following those two channels also. I see your concern. I also thought of the openness of the house because it always rains in the Philippines. Especially the open bathroom. I would want the option to have it closed or open depending on the weather.
Same!! I love design seed!! Now this!! Same feels
I guess the open bathroom is fine since you'll also get wet when taking a bath. Hehehe. But seriously, it is still ok with me to feel a different vibe, because ever since my whole life I am using a traditional enclosed T&B. Kaya lang, on "Ber" months it will surely feel much colder lalo na pag mahangin pa.
The design of the house gives you the feeling of pleasure and contentment.
Wherein the architecture arouses your senses and induces a state of serenity and comfort.
How every home should be. Thank you, Misha!
Ganito gusto kong bahay. Walang pretentiousness, walang unecessary structures at di nilalabanan ang PH weather. Leaning toward eco-brutalism na sya which gives the space the much needed warmth.
Finally! A Never Too Small / The Local Project version in our country. Thank you for this work of art.
Wow! This is such a blessing to people. A low cost designer house. We need more ideas/initiatives likes this in our country.
Side note: I love the CR!
We couldn’t agree more! Thank you!
How to contact uncommon for a project.
@@UncommonPH who is the architect ?
Pano po kayo mkontak po?@@UncommonPH
It looks like art. It will be interesting to see a follow-up after a year or more of living in a unit: furnished & with normal day-to-day impact, e.g. a fold-up clothes dryer in the garden :)
true haha im sure all the wabi sabi concept will be gone haha
@@emongstar8768 yup. if you ask me parang pinag exsperimentuhan sya so this architect can be artsy. tignan mo naman yun may lababo sa labas sa tabi pa ng pinto sa tapat pa ng hagdan. may lababo pagkaakyat na pagkaakyat mo, lababo. ang labo. well muka namang masaya si kuya. too high art for a home if you ask me. I'm not even sure kuya shares the aesthetic sensibilities of the this architect. gaano kaya nya matatagalan yang ganyang minimalist na home tapos unfinished pa yung walls. I get that yun yung aesthetic pero I'm betting hindi nya matatagalan yan. mag pipintura rin yan. tapos mag dadagdag na ng kung ano anong gamit. in due time matatambakan yan ng sobrang daming gamit tapos wala na yung wabi sabi vision na yan.
I'm in love with this design and it made me interested to read the book too. I agree that what is natural is imperfect.
This is one of the most breathtaking housing structures that I've seen in UA-cam that is small, affordable yet visually stunning.
While searching some house designs which is perfect for my preferences and a budget friendly, I'm lucky to see this video, I will contact the architect if I will have my budget already, very calm home.
i like the design, it blends with nature, small but it opens your mind... cost didn't compromise it's beauty.
Well said. Owners say it makes them happier. Affects their mood even if they can’t say why. Imagine if all affordable homes of developers took this approach?
Awesome work on this one! Low cost housing can be sexy 🙌🏻
It sure can!
This is a beautiful example of a good quality yet low-cost home. 🙂
Gad grabe the aunthenticitt of the simple design but made very elegant. And can I just say? What a gem to have found this youtube page. Highly classy! Cant wait for more!
this awesome, this makes more elegant than those millions priced of houses in every subdivisions, but rare people could really appreciate this kinds of house design that you can only find in malaysia where they really make the outdoors part of the houses, simply but elegant
Every tropical country I have ever been too does this, this is in the Philippines.
😊😊very good space for its use para walang excess....
Hoping to see more work of our very own architects. This could also promotes bachelors and building new family a home that can provide comfort and success!
Yes. I agree, hoping to see more licensed professionals such as architects showcasing their work. So people in this country will be encouraged to get their services than those internet designers. Dami magagaling sa kanila, especially yung mga low profile, small time architects pero hinde lang nabibigyan ng chance because of illegal practitioners.
the impact of this design is functional, moving, sensual, minimal, clean, airy, naturale, and beast mode. love it. hope I see more from this architectural design and roofing
"Simplicity" which gives birth to beauty and strength with characteristics that cannot be described carelessly.
I simply Love and am overwhelmed by the simple yet elegant architectural design of this place. I am looking for something like this since I am in the process of having my own house for me, my 2 kids and 3 pet furbabies. ;)
Imagine living in this house wearing just linen shirt and cotton boxers, doing calisthenics in the morning, reading books in the afternoon, and meditate in the evening with just the sound of wind and bamboo leaves.
Youd get to know yourself deeper each moment of being there. Love this.
Sounds like a pretentious way of living.
For me it doesn't sound pretentious. Some people just want to express their uniqueness or peculiarity
@@jcfm1629 i admit i sometimes pretend, but deep inside this is what i wanna do to find peace with myself. I get distracted a lot by my worldly desires. I struggle a lot to achieve this. You can label that way of life anything you want, but this is what i want for myself
You seem like an INFJ or INFP wow! Resonates with my thinking just the same. I do calisthenics!
this is how I imagine my day!
Beautiful house. ❤ from India. Congrats to home owner and architect for the masterpiece.
Architecture is a master craft and the Architect is a craftsman of a high order. Well done.
Panalo! Simple, elegant, well thought of, and dignified.
Very true!
I’m in love! I love the layout of the house. 🤩
Wow, this design is truly impressive! It exudes a wonderful minimalist aesthetic that I find quite appealing. However, I can't help but have some concerns regarding its suitability as a model for low-cost housing. At present, it appears quite bare, and considering the fact that many Filipinos tend to have an abundance of personal belongings in their homes, I'm not entirely sure if this design aligns with their typical usage patterns. I envision lots of monoblock chairs, Orocan drawers, and rice cookers placed on top of those drawers... you know, the usual Filipino household items. While I admire the artistic style that these talented architects have incorporated into this masterpiece, I can't help but wonder if they took into account the specific needs and preferences of the target market for this low-cost housing.
It's a great feelingto have your own home. I can not wait until I have my own home one day.
I’m in love with the design.❤️
I will live here all day. Dream materials. Bali-vibe. Happy to see this kind of housing immersion in PH 🎉
Perfectly raw and simple. So beautiful!! 😍
The CR for the win! No need for an exhaust fan. Very spartan and love the use of plants and greens. And Beats the hell out of Metro Manila condo living in many ways, especially value. Great job!
Very beautiful, problem is finding the right people to help you build this kind of home at affordable price
This kinda concrete fair finishing house construction was my dream. Thanks for made really
This made me fall to a brutalist design loved this! 😍
Glad I stumbled upon this yt channel. Been wondering if we have a similar channel as Design Seed in Malaysia. Keep it up!
I'm glad I found this channel. Thanks for sharing this. The owner of the house talks about loving ownership and location, but doesn't say that he loves the house. In the next episode, you should show what became of a house that may not have asked people what they want or how they live. It might surprise you. At the very least, it will surely be brightly painted and partitioned for 4-5 kids, assuming they survive the stairs. I imagine this is better than "low cost" options, but developers can still do better.
Great work!!! Look forward to seeing more of this.
The design for me is sooooo refreshing. Feels like you can be yourself.
Love the word brutal
And more to RAW
thank you Uncommon i am really inspired with wabi sabi ... praying for more subscribers
love the zen feeling of this house
The design is good if the home owner lives a minimalist lifestyle to highlight the beautiful imperfections of concrete. Walang maraming gamit at kalat. Kapag tinambakan mo ng gamit yan Wabi-Sabog na tawag dyan😂
iiyak si architect 😭
ang ganda nito! agree on the idea that low cost doesn't need to look cheap.
Its great! Its just that personally, i can't stay long term in such a setting. I know proper lighting can make anything look good. The problem with exposed concrete is that slowly turns dusty over time.
The people involved in this design of house is brilliant, not only the cost of house lower but affordable...
Ganda. Simple pero ang ganda. Magkano na kaya pag nag patayo ka ng ganitong bahay ngayong 2024.. Love this house
im back again with this video after watching a bunch of architectural videos i noticed something...sa mga small lot / house very important yung position ng kitchen toilet stairs to maximamize the space...at sa mga small lot very important na may big sliding door na may courtyard..and windows ..(correct position too) why? because it make the house big saka for lighting and ventilation na rin.hindi nakakasufocate .tapos yyung courtyard dapat may mga greens kase sya ang nagpapacozy ng bahay at dapat high fence para may privary sa neighbor specially sa mga small lot na dikit dikit...at important din na hindi matingkad sa mga paint ng bahay beige or white or neutral colors it makes the house big too.. yung mga bahay na may ibat ibang kulay ng tiles, nagmumuka syang cheap talaga..at saka yung bahay na maraming bling bling masyadong nagpapacrowd sa look ng interior kaya nagmumukang masikip... minimalist as much as possible sa mga small houses.. iwasan ang mga sobrang kagamitan na nagpapacrowd ng place.. maganda mga built in cabinets for storages ..
This is a beautiful home, I like what the man said, no space is wasted.
10x better than any cookie cutter low cost housing offered today. calling out decahomes and camella😅
AMEN!!!
Brutalism is my fave design, i know it five years ago so its nice that it’s gaining recognition.
I love this simple design.
Although this is not new, it is quite prominent outside our country. But I love seeing it here; we're breaking the usual "Filipino house" architecture.
I'd love to see more inspiring videos like this. Thank you!
with the bamboo!! looks cozy!! and the simple design feels comfortable !!! galing talaga!!! 💯🙌🏻👍🏻😊😌😌😌
My concern sa mga brutalist house ay moisture lalo na pag constant rains.
Exactly and dust particles from cement afterwards
Great incorporation of the Wabi Sabi philosophy as I have seen it applied with people living with dementia. Curious what the average indoor temperature during the monsoon and dry seasons in the Philippines. I appreciate the emphasis on keeping the space simple without clutter of decorative nonsense.
Concrete done with precision and finesse is very aesthetic.
I like the house it's so cool. Cheap affordable and its very modern. Very good design. Peaceful, relaxing and feel the nature. Thank you for your ideas. Very appreciate. God bless
The house brings calmness to whoever will step inside it
I wish they will release the plans to help those who want to rebuild this.
i love how soft spoken the designer is
I like this, hopefully the owners will enjoy and improve the space as they lived here.
I appreciate the minimalism. Less is more. I would love to live in there.
I love to see this kinds of content here in the Phillipines, specially most of this kinds of project are from other country na sooo ideal becuase of how pretty it is. Now, I can see that achievable naman pala talaga sya even in the Philippines.
Amazing. The space created is so serene. I hope to see more ...
background music should only be 25% of what the voice over volume is.
I am looking forward to building a house of this design.
Love it to mix it with industrial stuff(meta tubings and others) meets wood accents(maple or mahogany) but stay minimalist. Hard to explain.
Grabe ang ganda. I wanna see it with storage and stuff. Minimal pero very functional ba. I love it
sana laging kasama ang parking space sa mga pagpaplano ng housing kahit wala pang intensiyon na magkasasakyan. Nagiging problema rin kasi talaga sa liit ng mga kalsada.
Wow! Super love the design Sir Carlson!
Wow! Kudos for building houses like this. More please!
Wow, pls upload more videos, low cost houses and great designs sir!!new subs here👋👋
Designs simple but beautiful
Great to find this channel. Keep creating this videos!
Less than 1 million PHP? Wonderful.
ok na sakin ang design na ganyan...except yung interior mas gusto ko painted white...mas presko pakiramdam
I appreciate the untoblerone stairs.
Because of this, I'M SUBSCRIBING!
its always about greenery, trees and leaves around. reason why you have glass houses that shows the beauty of the environment more than the house itself.
I like its simplicity❤
This is amazing! Big fan of Tadao Ando here!
I can imagine Rick Owens living in this house. Really fits his style in fashion and most of his retail stores
Aaah thank you. I’m taking this as a sign. Wabi-sabi. 💛
Great video! Slight critique, the background music is way too overpowering. It shouldn't have to compete with the speakers' voices.
Thanks for sharing your insights. Will work on that. Please let us know if it will be better in the next episodes.
I love how this architect thinks.
Brutalist minimalist parang japanese aesthetic, ganda
I love this house.
I love brutalist house. I just hope I could see a sound proof brutaliat house. No noise comming from outside.❤
It's so beautiful.
I'm sorry but this is not Wabi-Sabi. Wabi-sabi celebrates `Honesty` and accepting the beauty and property of the material. The walls are not honest because it's a rendered hollow blocks pretending to be solid concrete. The walls should give a hint of the hollow blocks. Windows are plastic and out of proportion and Light is not celebrated inside the house. Natural sunlight should pierce through the depth of the building. It looks dark, damp, and cold. far from the warmth of Wabi-Sabi- I like the Isamu Noguchi Lamp though- Just saying.
Same sentiments. Finally an unpopular opinion. It looks cool on the video with very nice editing and sound to promote ambience.. but I don't think I would ever live in there. I'd go crazy with all those shadows and dark areas! I am thinking of horror jump scares now, so I'm going to stop at that. Haha.
Congrats though to the owner, he seems happy. So my comment is irrelevant. 😅
Added to favorites instantly!
Definitely a great concept but I feel the execution could be cleaner.
ganda pero since PH ito, I guess pwede mag add ng steel matting dun sa open ceiling ng CR for security purposes.
Gusto ko rin ng ganito tapos nasa gitna ng greenhouse or malaking garden at mararaming painting sa loob 🩷
Wow this is one of my favorite house.
Both these guys exude that kind and humble attitude that makes me proud to be half Filipino ❤
I love the concept and the design.
I want to have this kind of house soon in my farm
May I get the contact info of the designer, this is so amazing, very nice design, so clean, so calm and relaxing, even in a small squat footage...very inspiring.
I love this!
