It's undeniable how much of an impact this one dragon has had on not only the characters in the story, but fans for sure. Question of the day: What's a mode of transportation you've never tried before? My answer: A motorcycle. I'd love to do it sometime only if I was guaranteed of safety lol
I’ve never been on a train or a motorcycle, tho motorcycle would be fun (In southeast asia, there are A LOT of motorcycles. You can see pictures of swarms of motorcycles that look all jumbled up, but when they turn it’s very coordinated)
Yes they do, they should be put in an honored spot in a royal aquarium. Thank you for my new headcanon. When Anemone (Or maybe Tsunami) becomes queen, they will order for those exact eels to be put in an honored aquarium near the throne.
It makes me wonder why Coral began to like him anyway. I mean, there has to be some history there other than just the scroll ink, right? Also, with Coral being so protective over her daughters, wouldn't she... yknow... care about the whole situation? She kinda just comes across like an enabler. She's very busy, but that seems like it should be high on her concern list?
Yeah, Queen Coral is LOW on my list of good moms in WoF. She basically ignores her sons, acts like she owns her daughters while not caring about thier emotional well-being, enables Whirlpool to be a creep, and puts Tsunami in jail.
He deserves his hate, he is the only wof character i hated from the start, when i was reading wof for the first time when i was 12, (or 11) he is a disguising creep, he could have tried to marry Coral after gill died, but he decided to go for the young dragonets.
i kind of think that Coral could have been convinced as well, like he could have said 'its for the good of the kingdom' Coral did seem to love gill, but she also did seem to respect whirlpool (sadly) so i feel like she could have agreed to do it@@Dogloverlikesdoge

Oh yes, Whirlpool is the height of yuck for WoF villains. Although, people like Scarlet or Burn have done worse things, I think the main part about why pretty much everyone hates Whirlpool is that he's evil in the most annoying way possible. And yeah, the fact that whatever Whirlpool's doing is basically the same as what went on in the 16th and 17th centuries of the real world is extra unpalpable
I don’t like whirpool but I don’t hate him, either. I mean, he was a well-developed and interesting character, just not the best dragon.😅 My least favorite character has got to be cottonmouth. I just wasn’t a big fan of what almost seemed like an alternate ending to the third arc, and I wished something. . .else happened. (Maybe to do with our first villain [my favorite of the three] queen wasp, or even our second villain, the breath of evil? But nooooo, a THIRD villain has to be introduced last minute?!🤯)
What makes a villain especially dangerous is his/her ability to play the long game and wait as long as needed to reach their goal. Dodge, from the graphic novel series "Locke and Key", was dangerous because he could wait years for his endgame.
How Whirlpool could’ve been a better antagonist Personality: sly, power-hungry, clever Love interest: Coral (not married) Status: author and makes the stone scrolls Age: 20 Story: Whirlpool was always the sneakiest dragonet. He’d steal things from the older dragons just to get them to play hide-and-seek with him. Whirlpool became friends with Coral, but just because she was royalty and when they grew up, he could be king. Gill ended up becoming king instead, and Whirlpool acted happy for Coral so she’d like him. He set a trap for Gill, but Gill ended up being captured by the Skywings before Whirlpool finished it. Whirlpool then tried to steal Auklet after she hatched and hid her so he could “find” her and be king. Tsunami did find out, so Whirlpool tried to kill her but failed and just told Coral that something must’ve attacked them both and potentially killed Auklet. Before he could “find” Auklet, Anenome brought him to the eel pool and found out Auklet was alive, then killed Whirlpool and retrieved Auklet. He’d still be the same, but more interesting and not as gross
Could I make a video suggestion. If you haven't already, could you make a video on the Weirdling Tower? There is so much we don't know about it, and some new information has recently filtered through from the Guide
@@Aladite I'd like to read it! I made on, as well. It was called "Tour of the Weirdling Tower" in an AU where Burn wins the war and sends dragonets in regular trips to the tower to terrify them into obedience. I added birds with deformed beaks, more stuffed specimens and backstories on the other objects
What really disturbed me about Whirlpool was when he said that Anemone probably won't survive the war so he should ask for Auklet instead. A LITERAL NEWBORN CHILD!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM?!
Personally, I never once got the notion that Whirlpool had ANY romantic interest in Coral's daughters and I saw him as nothing more than a pathetic idiot who wanted power by manipulating an immature child exclusively to be dominant in the sea kingdom (so basically diet Darkstalker in wanting the king to rule rather than the queen). He still sucked for wanting to even propose marriage with them (and Coral being fine with Tsunami marrying him is just eughh) and I can't deny his negative influence in Anemone's life in arc 2, but I don't get the full reason to hate his guts: most of his plans failed and overall he was a nothing character in my eyes. At most he felt annoying. Coral was more hateable in this scenario. If anything, I think hating Heath, Jerboa I, Cottonmouth, Diamond or Lagoon with a burning passion is way more deserved. They straight up suck and some of them also manipulated children.
When I first saw Whirlpool, I was like I’m not sure about you. (and I also had a feeling that Whirlpool attack Tsunami in book two, I wasn’t to sure but he was on my list).
Whirlpool is bad, but I despise Scarlet more. She had Peril kill dragonets in their eggs, while she was practically a hatchling. At least Whirlpool was willing to wait. Scarlet thew Peril in the arena as soon as she got her.
Let's not forget that Whirlpool left a little "present" for Anemone to use. With him giving her that knife, along with other Fanwings, I'm pretty sure Whirlpool was polishing Anemone to become just like Albatross. He's just the slimiest dragon IV ever seen.
I also see him as a “pepperoni” mostly because of Anemone saying that he makes her uncomfortable which might be a hint of whirlpool being a “pepperoni” same for him being so selfish
I can't even say his name without gagging >:p But somehow I created a fancharacter that's worse than him--- I shall describe her and yall tell me how revolting she is So she's ment to be the main villain in a fanfic I'm writing. Opal runs a band of assassins in the Scorpion Den, and takes over when Thorn leaves and Vulture dies. She forces her daughter Sidewinder (And probably a few others she tricked into the roll) into prostitution as an incentive to join her creed, and treats them as property, probably even selling them occasionally. If Sidewinder ends up layin an egg and the father doesnt want it, she keeps the eggs in a hatchery in her hacienda, to indoctrinate into the creed for whatever rolls she wants when they hatch. She's also a massive hipocryte, preventing the members of her creed from having any sort of romantic relationship, despite having a daughter of her own and forcing her daughter into prostitution. When she finds out the main characters are married, she straight up murders the husband, and sends hitmen after the wife and daughter. She later kidnaps a young SilkWing to use as ransom against her mother who is also another rising force in the Den, and when her mom refuses to pay ransom, Opal decides the SilkWing dragonet is too ugly and weak to be of any use, even when it got older, so she leaves her stranded on and island (she hadn't grown wings yet) She was also about to straight up sell her daughter to a NightWing when the MC came crashing through with her own daughter and the SilkWing dragonet and kill her. So yeah how revolted are yall by Opal? In my honest opinion, somehow I've made a character even worse than Whirlpool, and that says A LOT.

Yeah, his biggest offense was his intention to marry a child. And then ,presumably, consummate said marriage. So as soon as Tsunami showed up, and Auklet hatching, he concludes that rather than it being a matter of self-interested necessity, he could just choose which child he wanted to take advantage of. The only other thing that comes close to that sort of villainy is when Darkstalker uses his magic to hypnotise Fierceteeth and perform body-altering experiments on her, with the intention that she be a substitute for Clearsight with whom he would then want to have kids. We are fortunately spared having to ponder it any further because Darkstalker gets mad, undoes the damage and makes her leave.
